My Adventure Begins...

I feel like Rapunzel right now... I have never left home indefinitely and also never really seen the country. Tomorrow we are packing up what last bits we need and heading off to... Well possibility will be DC but unsure... 2016 “New” Year

I  have an ‘88 buick century it has: a busted turn signal, a cooling problem, doors that have no guts or can only be opened from the outside, no a/c

I am a college student: I cant go to college because my paperwork was never finished by the school

I have depression: I see no end to my bad luck, I am depressed everyday, I want to give up alot...

I control my life, I now have  2 cats, a job as a sub, friends who try to help me through my dark moments, exes who still care, and I’m still alive...

Thoughts to Ponder

I have gained and lost the same guy because of no ambition

I have gained a job that helps me do what I want when I want

I have found a guy that makes me want to change from the old me

I have found a guy that makes me smile more than anything

I have found a guy that is happy he can make me smile

I make him laugh about different things all the time

I want to make a difference in the world 

I want to be all I can be

I want to live and be merry and have a great life

I want to be an Art Therapist, Linguist, and a great wife (not necessarily in that order)

Also I do believe that I will not do anything right now because I think it is 10 degrees colder in the rooms outside of my room in the house... <3 the heater!!

How long does depression typically last? The first thing that pops up on a Google search is 4-8 weeks.... is that true? Also, how do you know if medication would be a good option for you? Thanks.

The courseof depression is quite variable, such that some individuals rarely experienceremission while others are expected to recover spontaneously. 

Medicationwould be especially helpful in situations where the risk of recurrence ofdepression is high, such as in individuals whose last episode was severe,in younger individuals, in individuals who have already experienced previous episodes and a persistence of mild depressive symptoms during remission. And medication would also be very helpfull in depression whith features associated with lower recovery rates, such as long episode duration, psychotic features, prominent anxiety, personality disorders, and symptom severity.  -Chris

Stupid Games

Why is it there is only 1 endless game? I just finished Halo 4 after playing for a total of 11:01:45... Spanned over 4 days of course whereas I have been playing Skyrim for almost a year (No clue exact time) and still have yet to finish it though I ruined my disc so I'm on hiatus again where I had no xbox last time... Games are the safest way fore to deal with my feelings because I can die easily or die fighting to the bitter end... Hope this gives someone insight

I just want to say I don't have bd but my doc put me on lexapro and my suicidal tendencies got worse and I started a bipolar streak until I took myself off and told my doctor, he agreed and told me to take something else, I don't remember what he put me on next.

Question. Every time my vyvanse gets upped, it works great for a few days, but then I get lethargic, no motivation, unfocused, always feeling sick, headaches,etc.I think my 10mg lexapro causes it. I want to go off it but I'm unsure.What do you think?

Hi, manypatients have only a partial response to Lexapro where some symptoms areimproved but others persist (especially insomnia, fatigue, and problemsconcentrating in depression).

In Lexapro,increasing serotonin can cause diminished dopamine release and might contributeto emotional flattening, cognitive slowing, and apathy in some patients. But itdoesn’t contribute that great of an amount, so if you’re on a high dose of Vyvanse,it probably isn’t the Lexapro.

I’m notfamiliar with all aspects of your situation, but if your doctor prescribed Lexapro,it’s because he thinks the medication brings you more benefits thanharm. So it’s always best to discuss your impressions with him.-Chris
