morning reflections | fire lord!zuko x reader
(gif not mine)
warnings: fluff, one kiss, tears (very brief), advisors being mean :(, fire lord zuko ;)
summary: trying to get zuko out of bed leads to unexpected confessions.
word count: 0.6k
A/N: this is a very short drabble that's been sitting in my drafts for way too long, so enjoy! English is not my first language, so I apologize for any grammar/ spelling mistakes. feedback is appreciated.
“Honey, let go, we have a meeting with your advisors in 30 minutes.”
In answer, Zuko grumbled, tightening his arms around your waist and drawing you closer to his bare chest.
“Zuko,” you exclaimed, giggling, “we have to be there! You’re the fire lord, remember?”
“Exactly. I'm the fire lord, therefore I get to decide whether or not I attend I meeting,” he replied smugly, “and right now I’m deciding that I want to stay in bed with my beautiful wife.”
“Flattery isn't going to work, Zu. Don’t even try. Besides, your advisors have finally agreed to allow me to attend this one. I can't be late. That would hardly provide for a favourable first impression."
You had not been looking at Zuko's face when you said that, but you felt him stiffen at your words. All sense of playfulness eviscerates from the air.
"What," Zuko enunciates.
You shift your gaze back to his face, perplexed at his tone. "What?"
"What do you mean, 'my advisors are finally letting you attend this one'?"
"Oh," you replied sheepishly, "just forget I said that."
Zuko gave you a pointed look and sat up straight, resting on the headboard of the massive bed. You followed suit, suddenly taking an obstinate interest in his warm hands, fiddling with his fingers. He took one of his hands from yours and raised your chin with his index finger, urging you to make eye contact with him.
"You want to inform me," Zuko spoke softly, "or should I ask the advisors myself?"
"It's nothing," you started, "it's only that… every time I ask if I can attend the meetings, your advisors refuse. They tell me that these are not affairs that concern me."
Zuko always thought you didn't join meetings simply because you weren't interested in these affairs. His visage distorted into one of rage, and you felt compelled to calm him down, fearful of what he would do to his advisors.
"But it's truly not a problem! It makes no difference to me, honey. As a result, it should not concern you." You ran your hand along the nape of his neck, tenderly running your fingers along the hairs resting there.
"Why didn't you tell me? I could've handled it," Zuko inquired, his voice concerned.
"What would it look like if I came to you with all of my problems? I need to show your advisors that I'm capable of being the fire lady you deserve; that the fire nation deserves," You muttered solemnly. Your head bowed low as if you were ashamed to admit this.
Zuko's heart ached at your confession. How long had you been feeling like this? It's been a year since Zuko took you as his betrothed, and it angered him to just find out now.
"Sweetheart," Zuko started, taking your hand and placing a kiss on your knuckles, "you don't need to prove anything to anyone. You are already the fire lady that I deserve and that the fire nation needs. Your presence and input in these meetings are valuable to me, and I want you there by my side. I should have made that clear to my advisors from the start."
You looked up, tears forming in your eyes, "Really?"
"Of course," Zuko replied, wiping away a tear with his thumb, "I'll speak to my advisors and make sure that they understand your importance in these meetings."
You leaned in, pressing your lips to his, revelling in the softness of his lips. Zuko deepened the kiss, his arms wrapping around you tightly. You felt relieved that you no longer had to hide your frustration and disappointment about being excluded from important meetings.
"Thank you, Zuko," you whispered, "you always know how to make everything better."
Zuko chuckled, holding you close, "That's what I'm here for, my love."

i wanna request for fluff friday!
i was very into mushroom these days, can i request mushroom hunting with hobie? hunting and study them a little (the reader brought a mushroom guide book)
Hi, angel! Thank you for the adorable request! A bit of a disclaimer I don't know anything about mushrooms so I researched a bit for this fic! So sorry if it's not accurate tho hope you like it ❤️
Pairing: Hobie Brown x gn! Reader/ Spider-Punk x gn! Reader
Tags: no use of Y/N, no specific physical description of the reader, Fluff.
ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ
"Is this what you're lookin' for, lovey?" Hobie calls you over from his crouched spot. The tall trees provide shade for your mushroom hunting. The cloudy sky and cold autumn air makes the hunt more comfortable for the two of you.
Dry leaves crunch under your hiking boots, carefully walking over to him, avoiding any obstacles that might trip you over.
"Lemme see!" You excitedly bend at your waist, eyes scanning the soil for a red and white mushroom top. "Oh, good eye, but that's not the fly agaric" you fully crouch next to him, taking out your trusted book of mushrooms, the edges are frayed, cover fading, a sign that it's well read and well loved. "Look, you found a puffball"
Pointing at a picture on a page that you didn't have to look at the index to search for, the white mushroom on the paper is a direct copy of what grows right in front of you. It clings right on the foot of a large tree, stark white, its spherical head adorable to look at. Hobie leans towards you, cheek to cheek, looking at the page.
"Puffball" Hobie repeats the name like he's memorizing a word from a different language. "Is it edible? Looks like it" even though the information is laid out on the page, he asks, knowing you like talking about your hobby. It doesn't hurt that he loves hearing your voice.
"You're right," you lean into his warm cheek, "it's edible. I don't know how to prepare it though"
"Let's take some, we'll figure it out together" Hobie plucks a few mushrooms gently, he puts them inside your wicker basket, the first of many specimens for you to study or eat apparently.
"You're right" you smile fondly, standing up, helping him carry the basket even though he doesn't need it. Hobie appreciates it nonetheless, you both carry the same handle, sort of like holding his hand in a way. "Cooking it is probably the same as the store bought ones"
"Not poisonous though, right?"
"Nope, it's fine to eat. If it makes you feel better I'll take the first bite" you smirk at him. Walking in step with him.
"My hero" you giggle at his comment. "Eugh, what is that?" Hobie stops mid-step, for a second you thought he's making fun of your laugh, but of course he wouldn't do that so you follow his line of sight. He stares at reddish brown mushrooms growing on a decaying tree trunk.
You gasp, skipping over to the dead tree, you inadvertently pull Hobie along. "Jelly ears! I Knew it!" Stopping right in front of it, you practically bounce in excitement. "They're early this year" you mumble to yourself.
"They do look like ears" he narrows his eyes at the wavy mushroom. Its gelatinous texture makes him feel icky inside.
"They're edible too!"
"Love, I love and support you but absolutely not, 'm not eating something that looks like that. 'm not a picky eater but fuck that"
You laugh loudly, the sound echoing off in the woods. "Okay, let's not eat them" letting go of the basket, you take his other hand instead, turning him away from the goosebumps inducing sight. "Come on you big baby. We're losing daylight"
"We've got plenty of time to find your fly agaric" Hobie rubs the back of your hand comfortingly, tracing circles over the smooth skin.
Your heart increases tenfold. "You remember the name"
"'Course I did, remember how it looks too. Red mushroom top with white spots, right?"
You let go of his hand to his dismay but you remedy it immediately with a half embrace. Face squished atop his upper arm, arms enveloping him completely. "Thank you for coming with me" nuzzling your nose over his hoodie, you let your actions talk for you.
"I take it 'm right?" He chuckles, arms trapped under your hug, he has an immense need to embrace you back. "D'you think I'd let you go alone in the woods? What if the fae gets you, huh?"
Your voice is muffled by his jacket, Hobie does all the work in guiding you both further into the woods. "I'll them I'm taken"
With his arms stuck to his sides, He could only manage to move his neck down to kiss the top of your head, he's sure there's a crick in his neck. Hobie doesn't mind though.
"Let's find Mario's mushroom" you guffaw loudly in reply.

"Cool with you."
❀ pairing: Gojo x fem!reader
❀ about: You finally get to work with Satoru sensei and his kids.
❀ warnings: fluff, fluff just fluff.
❀ note: not much to say, reader is a jujutsu teacher too, she has a scar on her brow, there's a story behind that.
"Gojo Satoru, nice to meet you," said the white-haired Jujutsu Sorcerer, greeting you with a smile. He had gained a reputation among sorcerers as the strongest.
Of course, you had known him since you were kids. He was the one who bested you in the Jujutsu exams, and you'd never forget his face. As a Gojo clan heir, this arrogant genius boy hated following the rules way too much for everyone's liking. He believed he was better than the other students in the academy, made you eat dust at the exams, and left you with a scar on top of your left brow, a reminder of that fateful day every time you looked in the mirror.
And after his encounter with Fushiguro Toji, Gojo's popularity soared. You knew everything about him, but he had no idea who you were.
"So... you don't remember me, Satoru?" You smiled back. He tilted his head, scanning your face behind his sunglasses, but it drew a blank. "Nevermind! I'm Y/L/N Y/N, nice to meet you too."
You were assigned to be with his students for a short period. After Gojo had trouble keeping Yuji's cursed technique in check during their latest mission, you were brought in because you specialized in controlling cursed children.
Gojo was informed of this but said they didn't need you. Nevertheless, you were sent to work with them. After reintroducing yourselves, Gojo focused on texting and laughing at his phone, waiting for his "students."
You were left standing there... waiting.
The first to notice you was Yuji.
"Hey, Gojo-sensei, who's she?" Yuji asked eagerly.
“Calm down, Yuji.” Gojo said as he remained focused on his phone.
He wasn’t going to introduce you?
Fine!
"Hi, Yuji, I'm Y/N. I'll be here to assist with your training for a few days."
Nobara and Megumi joined, but Gojo continued lost on his phone, calling random sorcerers and laughing out loud.
"Nice to meet you, Sensei Y/N. I'm Kugisaki Nobara," the young girl introduced herself, she elbowed her black haired partner to do the same.
He didn’t.
"Hello, Nobara," you replied.
"He's Megumi... Fushiguro Megumi," Nobara continued. Megumi gave you a brief glance before returning to his own thoughts.
"Hello, Megumi," you said gently, he mumbled something under his breath.
"Gojo sensei you are on time for once! Did your girlfriend Y/N made you wake up early?” Yuji joked.
And you could swear you heard Megumi chuckle.
“She's NOT my girlfriend, Itadori!!”
Oops
So the training started and you tried to not go against Gojo's way of teaching, but he was definitely wearing Yuji out.
The pink haired boy was getting frustrated, and you started to sense a small change on his cursed energy.
"Gojo, I think you should tell Yuji to take a break," you finally spoke up.
The strongest, still absorbed in his phone replied, "Nah, he's doing fine."
Yuji was on the verge of arguing with Megumi in frustration, while Nobara tried to maintain peace. All the while, Gojo kept his focus everywhere, but his students.
"I'm sorry, Gojo, but I'm here to do my job," you mumbled.
"Huh?" Gojo glanced at you.
"Itadori! Are you hungry?" You called out, and Yuji immediately ran to you, skipping his training.
"Hell yeah, Y/N-sensei, I'm hungry!"
“Yuji is always hungry!” Nobara complained from the distance.
Gojo stared at you while you set a picnic blanket and Itadori sat to eat. Nobara walked to you and joined.
Megumi continued training.
You decided to give him something to eat too. He mumbled a thank you.
Gojo looked at you offended.
“Y/N, the training wasn’t over yet.”
“Gojo, would you like to join us and eat something?” you were keeping an eye on Itadori and as you predicted, his cursed technique started to stabilize.
“I’m good…” of course, he didn't want you to win.
After lunch, training resumed, but this time Gojo was sitting next to you, sighing. "First day here, and you're already defying the sensei," he remarked.
You almost choked on your water. Did he just call himself "sensei"? And why did that make you feel... things?
"Gojo," you managed to say, "Itadori's cursed energy was all over the place. He was getting frustrated with Megumi, and I sensed the Sukuna's energy taking over slowly. So, I tried to use a simple distraction technique by offering him food."
"Ha, a distraction technique?" Gojo said sarcastically.
"Hey, at least your students have gained enough strength to continue training," you pointed out, and Gojo glanced at his kids in the distance.
"Yeah, well, I don't like when the rules are broken," Satoru warned, smiling creepily at you.
You cleared your throat. "Of course, I'm well aware of that."
The training ended for the day, and you were about to leave but someone stopped you, "Hey, Y/N, do you have plans for this evening?"
You shook your head. "No, I was planning to go home, eat something, maybe read until I fall asleep."
"Some Jujutsu Sorcerers go for drinks after training. I go too, so if you want to join..." Gojo suggested, completely ignoring your original plans.
"Oh, yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Are you sure you want me to come?" you asked, puzzled by his invitation.
Gojo rubbed the back of his head. "Ha! Trust me, sweetheart, if I didn't want you to come, I wouldn't have invited you."
"You are right," you awkwardly said as you were finally ready to leave, I guess I'll go with you then."
It seemed like this might be kind of a date after all.
As the evening approached, you met Gojo at a local bar. It was a dimly lit place with a mix of sorcerers and non-sorcerers. You found yourself a bit out of your element, but the blue eyed sorcerer, with his charismatic personality, easily struck up conversations with the people around. It was clear he was a regular here.
You took a seat at the bar, and Gojo ordered a couple of drinks. He handed one to you and raised his glass. "To unexpected reunions," he toasted with a wink.
You clinked your glass with his and took a sip. The conversation flowed easily, and you found yourself reminiscing about the past, about the academy, and the day Gojo had defeated you in the exams.
Then he leaned in closer, pulled down his blindfold and looked at you. "You know, I never really had a chance to properly apologize for what happened that day."
You raised an eyebrow, surprised by his sincerity. "Apologize? You, Satoru Gojo, apologizing?"
He chuckled, "Yeah, I was a cocky kid back then, thought I was invincible. But I've grown up a bit since. I mean, I'm still pretty cocky, but I've learned to appreciate my colleagues and allies."
You smiled, thanking the gesture. "Apology accepted, I think this scar is pretty cool anyways." your index finger now pointing at your brow.
"Ya know? I agree!" Gojo exclaimed before taking another sip of his drink.
The night continued with laughter and stories, and you realized there was more to Gojo than just his relaxed exterior. He had a softer side, one that he rarely showed to anyone.
“So Gojo, tell me about your "kids”, I liked my first day with them" you commented as you were genuinely curious about them.
Satoru chuckled.
"What would ya like to know heh?” he was filling the Sake shots.
“I don’t know, just talk about them! I like to hear you…” you said, surprised by the words that came out from your mouth.
Apparently you had enough sake for the night.
"Well, there is Yuji, and Megumi, they are best friends, but they don’t know it yet… " Satoru said, laughing at his own joke, "and there is Nobara, she is incredibly smart though, with an impressive cursed technique.”
You looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
“That’s all you can say?”
Gojo ruffled his hair, his blindfold was already around his neck, his rosy cheeks from the alcohol made him look even more beautiful than he was.
Even if you thought that was impossible.
"Listen here, just... get to know them… they are wonderful kids. I’m really proud!”
At this moment, Satoru and you, were the only ones left in the place. You realized it was time to go.
"Alright, I better go home… and you should too, Sensei.” You got up from your seat, but Satoru grabbed your arm tightly.
You looked at him.
"Eh, do you want me to walk you home, Y/N?”
You hesitated for a minute.
“Hmmm, Yes! Of course!”
The walk home was full of laughs and jokes between you two, you didn’t though that Gojo was this funny man when drinking, it looked like he wasn’t hiding behind his carefully curated walls anymore.
You guessed he didn’t hate you after all… However, why he was acting so childish during his students's training?
Satoru stopped walking.
And you did the same.
“Do… do you like dogs?” Gojo inquired with a concerned look on his face.
It’s like 2:00 am in the morning Satoru…
“Yes! why…?!”
Before you could finish your question, eight dogs surrounded you, summoned by Gojo, who was currently petting and kissing their heads, while they were moving his tails, really happy to see him.
“Dogs!!, Gojo! they are adorable!”
They were also really fluffy.
"I learned that trick from my adoptive son," he briefly commented, but you didn't dare to ask more about it, "So… do you want to go with us and play with them a little, before going to bed?”
Who was this adorable man-child who looked excited to go play with his dogs… and with you, at two in the morning?!
And why your heart was beating this fast after seeing him interacting with them?
“I think that’s a wonderful idea, Satoru!” you answered smiling, you were not even drunk anymore.
This was going to be quite an adventure.
Satoru, the pack, and you arrived to the park, the full moon was bright enough to see the excited dogs running after the stick that Gojo was throwing at them, while he was talking to you.
"Sometimes, this is what I do when I can’t sleep… I come here with them and we play and it just feels right, ya know?…”
You were sitting on the grass, just admiring the strongest who was standing, his white hair looked magical under the moonlight.
You wondered how many people knew this side of Satoru.
"When I can’t sleep, I read, I get lost in imaginary worlds, where everything is perfect, as sorcerers we have too much stress and, sleeping seems like one of the hardest task ever…” you confessed, staring at the dogs.
The sorcerer sat next to you. He sighed out through his nose.
“Yes! We definitely didn’t choose an easy job…”
The ambience started to get nostalgic, so you changed the topic.
“They are so lucky to have you!” you said pointing to the dogs. One of them brought the stick and placed it in front of Gojo.
“Actually," he said, throwing the stick again, "I’m lucky to have them… They are my family.”
“I can see why they mean so much to you,” you said, your voice filled with genuine admiration.
Gojo turned to you, his eyes reflecting the moonlight. “Y/N, thank you for coming with us tonight. You’re the first person I’ve ever invited here.”
The sincerity in his eyes made your heart skip a beat. You couldn’t ignore the growing connection between you two, and in this moment, it felt like the barriers that separated you from this enigmatic sorcerer were slowly crumbling.
“Thank you for having me, Satoru. It’s been an incredible evening,” you replied, your voice soft. "Unfortunately I really have to go now, we got lessons again tomorrow."
"Yeah, yeah we do." The sorcerer clicked his tongue as he stood up, “So… see you tomorrow Y/N?”
“Yup! I will be there to help training your "kids”… Have a good night… Sensei."
Satoru chuckled loudly.
"Yeah, you can call me that," he said booping your nose, "goodnight Y/N.”
"Good…goodnight… Satoru.”
As you parted ways with Gojo and his pack of dogs, you couldn’t help but feel buttetflies in your stomach, wondering if this boy turned man that you used to know was going to stay in your life for good.
