[audio] Skinny Puppy live in Los Angeles, 2023
Skinny Puppy’s final show. It’s not a proper recording that I normally do. It’s just a bootleg, but I fixed it up as much as I could. Some details in the liner notes-

[video] Author & Punisher live in Salt Lake City, 19 May 2022 (full set)
Shortly after I recorded this one, I posted a couple songs to YT, but never the full show. I finally got off my ass and fixed up the whole thing.
I threw on some ridiculous filters on this one, you may or may not like it. Those first two videos are still up on YT if you want to see what it looked like with normal editing.
Tracklist and more details on the YT page.

I remastered the audio so now it sounds amazing, and put some crazy filters on the video so now it looks all trippy. Notes and tracklist on the YT page.

update: moving to Archive.org
So now that both HearThis.at and Mixcloud are charging for additional uploads, I’ve decided to take everything over to Archive.org.
All of the shows that I have posted to HearThis and Mixcloud are still posted there and still available to all. But, I won’t be uploading any new recordings to either of those websites.
I have safety copies of all the shows that I have uploaded over the years, so I am now posting them all as 320mbps mp3s to Archive.org. I don’t have any new recordings to post there yet, but when I do, they’ll go there and nowhere else.
I have uploaded only about 30 shows so far, randomly selected. But I’ll add more every day, until I get all ~175 shows posted.

[audio] Skinny Puppy live in San Francisco, 8 July 1992
Skinny Puppy live on the Last Rights tour, San Francisco, 1992. Back when they were at the height of their darkest, most nightmarish noisescape industrial style. And of course, back when Dwayne was still alive. RIP Dwayne.
Board tape (stereo! no distortion!) landed in my lap recently. So it sounded pretty great in the first place, but as with everything, it needed some substantial work.
For major reconstructions like this, I’ll go so far as to reverse engineer some group multi-track stems (drums, bass, vocals, synths) to give me more control over everything. Definitely the right choice with this one, as the final mix sounds mind-blowing. Especially after I added in crowd sounds.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the complete show. They opened with Addiction and Love in Vein. Addiction didn’t make it onto the original recording at all, and only the last past of Love in Vein did.
Also, Dirty Tricks was actually the first song of the encore, following Left Handshake. The song they played after Dirty Tricks, Testure, for some reason fades out right in the middle of it in the original recording, so I wasn’t able to use that one, either.
Luckily, I was able to save Dirty Tricks by making it the show intro into The Choke.
All love and respect to cEvin, Nivek, and everybody else involved with the band.

(audio) Hitori Tori live on the internet 2020/2021
Hitori Tori gave us two live performances on the internet, one at the end of 2020, one at the end of 2021.
0:00-1:07:30 is from December 2020, called Suck Puck Breakcorona Xmas Stream, obviously for our good friends at Suck Puck Records.
The last 30 minutes is from December 2021, originally called Live for PRSPCT Records, in collaboration with Murder Channel. I suppose I didn't really have to tack on this one on to the other, but I figured why not.
There's at least one, maybe two songs that are repeated between the two shows. I hope that won't offend you too much.
Both of these are still available on YT last I checked, if you want to see him thrash these songs out live.

ooooo, bad news.
Tumblr media
I post all my audio recordings to HearThis.at and Mixcloud. I always preferred HearThis, because it looks a whole lot better, and occasionally, Mixcloud would block certain recordings in the US. HearThis has never blocked any of my uploads.
But now, HearThis has told me that if I want to upload any more audio there, I’ll have to pay to upgrade to some higher tier account.
So you know what that means? Abscheid, sayonara, see you later, HearThis.
Obviously, I’ll still leave up what’s already there, but I won’t post any more there. All new posts will go only on Mixcloud.
Speaking of which, I just posted a Hitori Tori show. I’ll write up a post for that one shortly.

[audio] Xanopticon live on the internet, 25 April 2010
Xanopticon live webcast. I don't remember if there was any special occasion for this performance, or if any other artists played. But this was the only one I recorded.
The webcast was fed in mono, which is a bummer. But I put a reverb on it that has a frequency dependent spread to it, so that gives a little bit of a stereo air to it. All the crowd sounds I grabbed from other recordings. They're not fake; they're just not original to this performance.

[audio] Ruby My Dear live on the internet, 1 June 2021
Ruby My Dear live on rinse.fr, 1 June 2021.
Everything's on the internet these days. I am confident that concerts will happen again someday. Maybe not this year. Hopefully next year. Fingers crossed. Until then, I'll just keep scouring the internet for live performances to fix up and post.
This one went pretty much under the radar when it happened, so I post it here.
I bumped up the super extended sub-bass low end a touch. Fire up the subwoofers and see how you like it.

[audio] Not Breathing with cEvin Key live in Los Angeles, 9 February 2011
Not Breathing with special guest cEvin Key live at the El Rey, Los Angeles, 9 February 2011.
This was when NB opened for Meat Beat Manifesto. Special guest cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy sat in with NB. I couldn't tell you what parts he played or what synths he played, but he was out on stage, jammin' along for the entire performance.
I originally gave this recording to Dave, the main guy in NB, shortly after the concert, and he put it up on Bandcamp for a long time. But I see now that he must have taken it down at some point. But I contacted him and he gave me the OK to put it here on my concert recordings blog, so enjoy.

[audio] Merzbow live in Vienna, 18 May 2010
Merzbow live at FLUC, Vienna, 18 May 2010.
I posted this one a long time ago, but recently reworked/remixed it. So I deleted the old version and now we have this better version. This is the tour he did with superstar Hungarian drummer Balázs Pándi.

[audio] Raxyor live in Prague, 19 June 2010
Raxyor live at Parukarka Bunkr, Prague, 19 June 2010.
I originally posted this Raxyor recording many years ago. But I was recently listening to it at home or maybe in my car, and heard that the files had been corrupted. I thought it was good opportunity to just start from the beginning and do a full re-work, remix and remaster of the recording.
I'm so much better at it now and have so many more tools at my disposal, that anything I re-do from the old days will sound a whole lot better than my first attempt.

[audio] Aphex Twin live in Roskilde, 29 June 1997
So this Aphex Twin recording has been floating around the internet for decades. Live performance (back in the good ol' days when Richard used to actually play live, not just dj) from Roskilde Festival in Denmark in 1997, as broadcast on Swedish National Radio.
I saw a recent post on Dark Circle Room (here, where you can download the original tracks that I used for my remaster- darkcircleroom4.blogspot.com/2...e-festival.html) where it is described as the complete performance as opposed to some other versions that have been around for years.
So I downloaded it. The audio from that original broadcast is really good- stereo board feed combined with stereo audience mics for applause, the same way I do all my recordings. And while it does sound very good, once I popped it into my DAW, I saw and heard that it really needed some help. It had a very weak low end and sounded just kinda lifeless, like it had no spark in it at all.
So then I fixed it- pumped some low end back into it, brought some excitement back to the overall sound, did some trickery with the phase and the panning, beefed up the audience sounds a bit.

[video] Tool 2019-2020 Fear Inoculum Tour multi-cam maxi-cut
I recently finished a relatively major project, and thought I'd let you know about it. It was a hell of a lot of work and took me a hell of a lot of time to do it. Wouldn't have been possible except I have some time these days, now that I'm done with posting concert recordings for the time being, plus this whole work-from-home coronavirus quarantine has me at home a lot with not much to do except find random audio and video projects.
This one is for the Tool fans.
What I did was take a single-camera, full length concert from their recent tour, shot in Denver, which some random person posted to YouTube, and then I found a bunch more videos of the individual songs and used all that footage as b-roll. So it ended up being a multi-cam bootleg of a full Tool show. Plus, I added a couple songs from their latest album, Fear Inoculum, that they didn't play in Denver. So, it ended up being a multi-cam maxi-cut.
I posted it to YouTube, but, even though my video is just a compilation of other videos that are still up on YT, YouTube quickly pulled mine. So unfortunately, it's not viewable anywhere. But, I sent the video over to the super cool people at Dark Circle Room, who posted it on the blog for download.
I’ve posted a bunch of screenshots below. Complete details, tracklist, and of course the download are at the link.
Tool has never put out an official live concert video. Until they do, this is about as close as we’ll get.
And check out everything else DCR has posted. They have hundreds of bootleg audio and video recordings of underground-y rock bands from over the decades (they're HUGE on Sisters of Mercy), VHS rips, contemporary video rips of concerts, and all sorts of associated random stuff.
