ningguang with an adeptus reader! requested headcanons :)

❀ you were a shadow in the distance, an illuminated beast roaming the skies. ningguang saw you from the comforts of the jade chamber, and immediately you piqued her interest.

❀ as she took a stroll one liyue evening, ningguang passed by you in your human form, recognizing the glow in your hair. she turned her head to watch you go by, and you never looked back.

❀ for quite some time it was an unrequited sort of love, with her always peering out her window, hoping to see you late at night.

❀ it became a part of her nightly routine, until one night, she looked out her window before turning in for the evening. ningguang masked her surprise as best she could when you appeared at her windowsill in your human form.

❀ "so it is your eyes that i feel on me every night," you say absentmindedly. it hadn't occurred to you how beautiful the tianquan was until you leaned closer to her.

❀ from then on, you would meet ningguang at her windowsill every night, and she would bid you inside. you and she would talk about the most random of topics, ranging from how yours or her day was, or how you and she fared growing up.

❀ as time went on, you began falling asleep in her arms as you would talk about anything into the night. as an adeptus, it was the most comforting thing you'd ever feel. no longer did you sleep under the stars when you had the love of your life embracing you as you slept.

❀ ningguang understood the divine nature of the adeptus, and how as the tianquan of liyue she had to lead her nation into an era with the absence of divinity. ningguang saw past your status as an adeptus and began to know your character: who you really are.

❀ you were so grateful for someone like ningguang to find interest in you, and it felt as if there was no way you could thank her for that. but, she always tells you, "just spending time with you is enough."

and so i responded...! thank you for your patience. i feel so bad for how long this took, but inspiration finally hit me like a bat to the head. i feel that a woman of high status such as ningguang would fall so deeply in love yet never show it. thank you again for requesting and for your patience! :,)
