Day two in the borderlands
We were attacked by some magical vines, I had high hopes that I would have something to bring back to the academy already, but alas they were being controlled by some magic staff in an abandoned cabin. I have taken some samples for the magicked vines as well as some other flora in order to take extensive notes.

I am fascinated by pidgeons, it is so fascinating how they have adapted to live in cities. Maybe one day I will conduct a study on them
Backstory this motivation that. No. The real character building is deciding how they feel about pidgeons

Since Professor Ariji's death it has proven difficult to access any of our previous research. Due to arrangements they made before their death, I was able to continue with my studies. Any effort to access any of my and Professor Ariji's work has been met with harsh and complicated bureaucracy.

Professor Ariji did not return from their voyage into the Borderlands. The mercenaries they traveled with, the Warthogs, brought back what notes they could, but most of the pages had been burned or otherwise rendered illegible, the rest was written in gnomish. I am putting in a request with the academy to get what was legible of the notes translated.

ooc pinned post!
Ida Sommer is a dnd character of mine, she’s an ecologist and this blog is essentially an in character journal of her findings.
Background:
The campaign is set in “the borderlands” an area of great magical importance that is quite hard to get into legally (for capitalism reasons) and Ida is (illegally) doing her first instalment of a long term population survey of the flora and fauna there.
Character:
Ida Sommer, level one Druid, using custom lineage for half elf-half firbolg, sage background
