And cannibalism is now being used as a metaphor for love.......
You know I thought I was in touch with how disturbing patriarchy was and nothing could shock me anymore but then I learned about the history of cannibalism. I have never seen feminists discuss this historically or otherwise (please let me know if you've seen this discussed somewhere). Some of these practices continued into the 20th century or reappeared during conflicts/famines as preferential means of punishment or dealing with hunger. Some instances clearly involved sexual abuse or torture prior to butchering and I suspect it was likely part of the deal (although usually left unmentioned by sources) for people who butchered outsiders, people captured in war, or enslaved/purchased women and girls. Understanding that this is a very common (not universal, but seriously dirt common) part of human history, and probably within spitting distance of women and children's genetic fear memories, hits home how easy it is for men (and women who withdraw identification with other women) to dehumanize us. Literally being reduced to fuck holes and good eating... the functions of a corpse.

"A man is washed clean with a glass of water, but the entire sea can't clean a woman."
—Albanian Proverb.
Meaning: Men are easily forgiven for the same mistakes with a small gesture, while women face ongoing judgment, revealing unfair expectations based on gender. This proverb shines a light on sexism within a culture, illustrating unequal forgiveness based on gender and emphasizing the need for awareness and change.

Upon listening to TTPD for at least, idk 50 times maybe I think my conclusion about But Daddy I Love Him is that it's not really about Matty, Joe, or any actual person, but rather about the strange mix of deification and infantilization she went through while dating Matty. I remember the open letter some Swifties wrote to her. Look, I dislike that man myself. But at the end of the day, all we can do is air our dissatisfaction, stop listening to her music, etc. Whatever was going on at that time was so weird on so many levels. People were simultaneously shocked that Taylor was a fallible person and at the same time pretending that she'd been put, against her will, into that situation. They might've dated, it didn't last, Taylor certainly doesn't call Matty a good person anymore. We've all had entanglements with problematic people. And apparently even Chris Evans’ wife has said some problematic things in the past. So has one of Henry Cavill's ex-girlfriends. But why aren't the men receiving the same amount of backlash for that, even though one of them went ahead and got married to that person? It's a rhetorical question.

It’s always something to see the general public trash a Taylor album upon its release and then come around to it a few years later. Sorry it didn’t click for you right away like it did for a lot of us.

What's so funny about the entire debate surrounding Taylor's supposed ‘posing’ as mentally ill for The Tortured Poets Department is that it's the same argument as ‘girls fake disorders all the time for attention!!!’ except, she's white and successful so she must not possibly ever sing about HER life, HER mental health issues, because someone else on the internet has violent intrusive thoughts and has been to psych wards multiple times? Grow up. If you really want an artist who sings about your EXACT brand of issues maybe find them? The internet is free. I agree Taylor Swift is everywhere but so is Disney and you can filter out and ignore content if you don't want to engage with it. Unfortunately, not everything is always about you.

read the full story in the washington post.
advances in technology have made women and girls more vulnerable and men and boys more violent. that is a fact. but discourse in leftist and mainstream feminist spaces does not reflect this reality. instead, those people are more worried about the perceived danger taylor swift poses and the “violence” of disagreeing with white transwomen and the “extremist” beliefs of radical feminists (i.e. that misogyny is sex-based and that patriarchy doesn’t hurt “everyone” but instead benefits men and harms women).
the 🥖 and 🎪 of it all … boys are out here radicalizing themselves into committing actual terrorism against girl children out of a psychotic hatred of women and a deep sense of antisocial apathy, while prominent men in our so-called progressive movements become millionaires thinking of different ways to say, “everything wrong with men is the fault of women.”

This album is about how two men broke her heart just months apart and how she was quite literally going through a mental breakdown while trying to put on a front while performing for millions of people on a world tour but you wouldn’t know that because you’re either so caught up in trying to figure out who each song is about or your so caught up in your hate for her that you’d rather make fun of her in her most vulnerable, raw, and honest state just to make yourself feel better

Exactly. I've had men be polite and nice and even very kind and helpful to me but I've also seen them turn around and talk about women in the most vomit inducing language possible.
i know we joke a lot during misandry hours, but the fact of the matter is men aren't inhuman. they do have convictions and conscience. they do have love and compassion. they are capable of immense kindness, thoughtfulness and empathy. they are very often curious and intelligent.
the difference is they don't think of women as having any of those things hence don't extend the moral consideration they would extend toward "fellow human beings". they genuinely view women as animals. and how do they view animals? as primitive. infantile. not as evolved or cultivated. mostly mindless hence mostly incapable of suffering. they don't have as much mind and their "self" is weak, so there is no memory or centralized experience, no history to the individual woman.
the same way a man can have a dog and slaughter a screaming chicken is the same way he can be a loving husband to his wife and still rape an underage girl. it's how they've all lived for so long that it's not contradictory to their behavior.
so him being nice to "his women" isn't proof you're safe with him. him demonstrating any virtue to others still isn't proof you're safe with him. him being devout to a "kind loving god" is not proof you're safe with him. him humouring you on anything isn't proof you're safe with him. him being gnc is not proof you're safe with him.
his humanity does not mean he sees you as human as well. it is nowhere near a guarantee. please understand this.

Not just domestic chores. Use the silent treatment. Don't explain to them how they hurt you. Ghost them. Disappear without a word. The only language men (even the good men) understand is that of consequences. Don't waste your time and energy explaining things to them.
Let men starve and rot in dirty environments instead of doing domestic chores for them and then crying and complaining about why the men in your family don’t do anything. They learn from consequences not your teachings or tears.

He stayed late at the office, dealing with mountains of paperwork. Hardly anyone would call him Iceman, that belonged to the past. Most people call him Commander Kazansky, his superiors call him Tom.
But, he prefers to be called Ice.
ICE.
