actually the more i think about it the more i hate the finale. and not just because jac died but because it felt like a run-of-the-mill sad episode and not a finale for a 23 year old show. where was the respect

It's true. :/ She was told Jac would survive and be cured, and then the show was cancelled and she was called in for a meeting and they told her Jac was gonna die instead (Bob had an interview yesterday or the day before where he said he thought they did that because without Jac people wouldn't petition for a reboot). She was ready and willing to move to Casualty, she wanted to play Jac for years more still and wanted her to have a happy ending. :(

tbh it sounds like bob was joking but i did see an interview with rosie saying she fought against jac dying which is so :// can they listen to her about her own character for once :/

yeah i didn't know how to say that and not maybe it obvious what was going to happen but it was the worst possible ending on literally every front and if you read rosie's interviews it gets a hell of a lot worse. she was in tears, when they brought her back they said jac would be cured. she said she could go to casualty. they killed her instead.

i honestly havent read interviews but if thats true then thats fucked up! the fact that rosie fought against jacs breakdown and her death and both times the writers/producers did them anyway.....

I wanna send you happy news since the latest anons have been depressing no offense. In Korea there's a drama having a lesbian couple (which is legit groundbreaking there) and they're only supporting so get like 5 mins every episode but ksjds that's where the productions uses all their braincells I'm not even kidding. The care put into every aspect of their scenes, the symbolism in the cinematography and the details put in, I've not even seen Western productions go to this length. It's insane.

Even more heartwarming is the actresses love for the characters. One legit just posted excerpts of love poetry by a Korean gay poet from the 80s (aka not mainstream stuff). The other personally designed every single part of her characters wardrobe and liked her first tweet in six years which was a Korean fan (using Korean lesbian slang) gushing about the relationship (and the tweet only had 34 likes before & didn't use hashtags, she went deep down the rabbit hole to find that). The best thing though is how happy Korean lesbians are on twitter. This is groundbreaking for them and they're so excited and writing whole damn essays analyzing every single scene and making loads of theories and even translating some stuff for international viewers to understand better. They deserve this so much. the ship is Soljiwan (Sol + Jiwan) from Nevertheless, which is in Netflix every weekend after it airs in Korea on Saturdays, this week is ep 9 of 10. I recommend searching them up if you want to go absolutely feral. it's hilarious how the main stage het relationships are so toxic and boring and the writing is so??? and then Soljiwan get their scenes and to quote a homophobic commenter "it's like the team (behind the show) are only invested in the homosexual narrative" dkhsjkjdgkd (that was a lot of messages which said a lot but absolutely nothing at the same time I'm so sorry)
