I must warn though. Haven’t written in a long time. Like, a year and a half maybe. Life turned around for the worse and I completely lost interest in continuing to write anything because of my depression.

Hello everyone.

Long time no see… and I apologize.

I got anew phone and accidentally forgot the password… so there’s that. Now that’s fixed. Got the iPhone 14 pro max. The best of the best as some people say. Gotta love the big screen. Can never go back. That’s for sure.

I’ve moved out of the apartment I was living in and moved in at my aunt and uncle’s place. They were kind enough to let me move in until I am past my top surgery in June where I have to relax at home for 6 weeks. Just about done with moving, only need to sort out some stuff at the old apartment, making sure the room I was renting is at its state as I took over.

Tumblr is working again for me. At least I hope it does. Gonna test it out tomorrow. If it works, a chapter will be up. If not, you’ll get a short update on what’s gonna happen next.

Now the thing about this chapter. It’s not a chapter from an ongoing story. It’s a new one. Yes I know, I have lots of stories to finish, but I just couldn’t help myself. Hope you guys like it though.

I am definitely doing better! The last couple of weeks have definitely turned my life for the better by a long shot!

The only thing that upsets me at the moment is the fact that I still cannot post any stories here on tumblr. It just doesn’t wanna let me post them. But I am closer to figuring out the problem! So hopefully soon!

I find life very… difficult… at the moment.

Going through transitioning is horrible in every sense of the word. You get constantly reminded that you were born the wrong gender and you go through countless of months where you have to wait till it’s your turn to get “the good stuff”

And while that may be absolutely horrible and terrifying yet amazing and fantastic, nothing about this journey hurts more than when your family can’t get your name and pronouns correct. Repeatedly. And then they start joking about it.

I was spending Christmas with my stepmom’s family this year. They have all known for over a year that I am transitioning and has taken it well. But my dad has had a hard time adjusting to my new name and new pronouns. And he keeps messing up, calling me my female name and female pronouns.

And I can accept it for a limited period of time. But when he has known for over 2 years that this was the new name and pronouns, it hurts me that he still hasn’t gotten used to it yet. Which means that he still calls me my old name and pronouns when he’s either alone or with my stepmom and sister back at home. (I moved out almost a year ago) Which just frustrates me even more.

Then they start calling me a completely third name that has absolute neither relation to my old name nor new name. And then they start laughing about it and joking about it, calling me all different kinds of names that has nothing to do with my new name.

I can understand that it’s hard for some people to get used to when you’ve been used to saying another name and pronouns. But what I do not understand is how they can joke about something like that. It’s insensitive and disrespectful in every shape and form and it hurts me more than anything because it’s my family.

(I’m actually laying in my bed, crying because I just realized how much it affected me and my scrapped damaged heart)

Life is just unfair in every sense of the way and going through this journey is and will continue to be the hardest journey I’ll ever be on.

Fanfiction Authors: HEADS UP

(Non-authors, please RB to signal boost to your author friends!)

An astute reader informed me this morning that one of my fics (Children of the Future Age) had been pirated and was being sold as a novel on Amazon:

(And they weren't even creative with their cover design. If you're going to pirate something that I spent a full year of my life writing, at least give me a pretty screenshot to brag about later. Seriously.)

I promptly filed a DMCA complaint to have it removed, but I checked out the company that put it up -- Plush Books -- and it looks like A LOT of their books are pirated fic. They are by no means the only ones doing this, either -- the fact that """publishers""" can download stories from AO3 in ebook format and then reupload them to Amazon in just a few clicks makes fic piracy a common problem. There are a whole host of reasons why letting this continue is bad -- including actual legal risk to fanfiction archives -- but basically:

IF YOU ARE A FANFIC AUTHOR WITH LONG AND/OR POPULAR WORKS, PLEASE CHECK AMAZON TO SEE IF YOUR STORIES HAVE BEEN PIRATED.

You can search for your fics by title, or by text from the description (which is often just copied wholesale from AO3 as well). If you find that someone has stolen your work and is selling it as their own, you can lodge a DMCA complaint (Amazon.com/USA site; other countries have different systems). If you haven't done this before, it's easy! Here's a tutorial:

HOW TO FILE A COPYRIGHT COMPLAINT FOR STOLEN WORK ON AMAZON.COM:

First, go to this form. You'll need to be signed into your Amazon account.

Select the radio buttons/dropdown options (shown below) to indicate that you are the legal Rights Owner, you have a copyright concern, and it is about a pirated product.

Enter the name of your story in the Name of Brand field.

In the Link to the Copyrighted Work box, enter a link to the story on AO3 or whatever site your work is posted on.

In the Additional Information box, explain that you are the author of the work and it is being sold without your permission. That's all you really need. If you want, you can include additional information that might be helpful in establishing the validity of your claim, but you don't have to go into great detail. You can simply write something like this:

I am the author of this work, which is being sold by [publisher] without my permission. I originally published this story in [date/year] on [name of site], and have provided a link to the original above. On request, I can provide documentation proving that I am the owner of the account that originally posted this story.

In the ASIN/ISBN-10 field, copy and paste the ID number from the pirated copy's URL. You'll find this ten-digit number in the Amazon URL after the word "product," as in the screenshot below. (If the URL extends beyond this number, you can ignore everything from the question mark on.) Once this number has been added, Amazon will pull the product information automatically and add it to the complaint form, so you can check the listing title and make sure it's correct.

Finally, add your contact information to the relevant fields, check the "I have read and accept the statements" box, and then click Submit. You should receive an email confirmation that Amazon has received the form.

Please share this information with your writer friends, keep an eye out for/report pirated works, and help us keep fanfiction free and legally protected!

NOTE: All of the above also applies to Amazon products featuring stolen artwork, etc., so fan artists should check too!

If it is post length that’s an issue you could maybe do an AO3 account and then just share the links here or smth like that?? I hope you get it figured out tho!!! I’ve posted 2k word fics on here no issue so that’s so weird that you’re having such an issue with it. :(

It funny you should mention that. I already have an AO3 account where all my stories are posted. And I could easily just keep posting there.

But I know many people on tumblr don’t have AO3, and I know I would feel bad for continuing doing posts there while not posting here. That’s just me and my big heart not wanting to disappoint my readers.

But yeah good thinking otherwise. That could be a solution. I’ll see what other solutions comes up, thank you! Really big help!

Hello everyone. So I have been trying to post my stories almost every day for literally 2 weeks (only not trying when I’ve been working) without luck.

I have suspicions that it’s the length of my posts. I am currently in contact with tumblr support, trying everything I can to make everything work again.

Hopefully you’re all still with me by the time it all gets fixed. If it ever does without having I make a new account. Which will be the absolute last resort.

If any of you have had this problem before and knows a way to fix it, please let me know!

Hello everyone! Hope you’re doing well! Hopefully better than I have for the past month or so.

For some reason I have not been able to access my account for the last month and a half. I don’t know why, I don’t know how, but I haven’t.

It was just until recently that I got access again and I’ve used the last two days to look through everything, making sure nothing has been deleted or posted. But so far nothing has happened, thank goodness.

I will be posting a few chapters from various stories throughout the weekend, but work has me loaded at the moment, so I’m not sure when it will be. But this weekend definitely.

I’m glad to be back on tumblr. It’s been hell without it. Luckily AO3 has saved me. I’ve got a lot of stories to read through. So many chapters. So many words.
