Saving all the above to read if I haven't, and adding a few I liked recently:
When in Paradise: Jim and Spock infiltrate a cult. I rarely see cults done well but this was perfect.
One of Many Great Fires: AU where Vulcan never joined the Federation. There's an arranged marriage... between Kirk and T'Pring.
A Meal to Remember: a short little smut that just feels so in character for TOS.
Take Refuge in What You Know: AU where Spock is agoraphobic.
Ri va'ne: Vulcan hand strippers. If you would like to develop a hand kink, this is where to start.
Listen yall I鈥檓 desperate here, drop your fav spirk fics below PLEASE AND THANKS I need some recs up in here asap help a gal out

Whoever invented "open in app" links that redirect you to the app store instead of actually opening the app even when you already have the app installed on your phone should be involuntarily turned into a beanbag chair

This bit always gets to me:
When you were five years old and came home stiff-lipped, anguished, because the other boys tormented you saying that you weren't really Vulcan. I watched you, knowing that inside that the human part of you was crying and I cried, too. There must be some part of me in you, some part that I still can reach. If being Vulcan is more important to you, then you'll stand there speaking rules and regulations from Starfleet and Vulcan philosophy, and let your father die. And I'll hate you for the rest of my life.
She's making her love conditional on being more human, on doing what she wants. There's a human child INSIDE her actual child, and that's who she wants.
It's a rough moment and she's worried about her husband, but I can't imagine anything my children could do to make me say I'd hate them for the rest of my life.
I can not stress enough that in Star Trek, Amanda Grayson being an incredibly loving wife AND shitty parent is a feature, not a bug. She loves Sarek with her whole heart. And as much as she loves Spock, every single time she has to choose between them, she'll back Sarek. Spock grew up knowing his mom loved him, but that she also did not understand him and would never have his back.
Before people in the mainstream even had the vocabulary to describe what they were seeing, they understood on a gut level that Spock was a neurodivergent, mixed race adult son of two incredibly charismatic and successful parents.
There are so many layers of relatability here.
A surprising lot of people in very loving and devoted marriages aren't great parents. An unsurprising lot of powerful people with prestigious careers also aren't great parents.
Folks who grew up with parents who were great at their jobs and devoted to one another but who just couldn't relate to or understand their kids could see themselves in Spock. Moreover, he demonstrated that if they took a path radically different from what their parents wanted, they could become incredibly successful and even well liked in a whole different sphere.
Most of all, for folks who could see how much their parents adored one another but never felt like that love extended to them, there is something profound in the way Kirk looks at Spock like he hangs the stars in the sky. He's a source of hope that even if you grew up as your family's ugly duckling, if you get out from under their influence you can find someone who will perceive you as a swan.

Yeah, some of the AUs it really doesn't matter which it is. Kirk is prince of the Terran Empire and Spock is the prince of Vulcan, they're just pretty different guys by that point!
I don't generally read the tags much, so basically if Kirk has a dead dad and/or blue eyes I assume it's AOS. Characterization drifts a lot so you can't always tell from that.
I'M JUST ASKING.

If they feel about gloves the way my sound-sensitive ass feels about earplugs, it's easy to understand why they don't wear them.
But I think the reasons they don't wear gloves are one or more of the following:
-we kiss with our lips and are often sexually attracted to lips, but we don't cover them up鈥攚hat we cover is culturally mediated and doesn't usually include everything sexy
-touch is intimate because of telepathy, and adult Vulcans can shield their emotions. In Journey to Babel, Amanda wears gloves. Is it possibly because she can't shield?
-and yeah sometimes clothes draw attention to a body part, and gloves REALLY DO THAT. A nice tight pair of gloves hides nothing but makes you look even more
-basically Vulcan is like a human culture where the ladies are topless, and it's not weird unless you make it weird
Honestly the fact that gloves are not common Vulcan attire is the biggest proof that they're huge whores on the inside
