chanyeol's "in the bag" has got to be one of the most authentic episodes out there (despite the video has sponsored ad for ADP which he actually uses). mans got a bag inside of the bag, airpods AND headphones, mouthwash and toothbrush + paste, glasses AND sunglasses, the box of phone case he just bought, and other stuff.

Chanyeol has been promoted to “Corporal” almost a month earlier.

He was supposed to be promoted from Private First Class to Corporal on December 1st. Last Sunday, his sleeve still had 2 stripes, now he already has 3 stripes. Early promotion is given to soldiers who passed the "Special Warrior" (특급전사) test. Congratulations, Chanyeol!

Anecdote: The night before fans found out about the early promotion (211102), Chanyeol was trying to show them the 3 stripes on his sleeve but fans didn’t see due to the darkness since it was a nighttime and thought he was promoting the sponsored padded jacket.

Chanyeol was seen wearing 특급전사 (Special Warrior) badge of 9th Infantry Division (White Horse) on 211016 on the way to Meissa’s Song Musical.

특급전사 is given to soldiers who have superior physical and shooting strength. All soldiers are assessed on four core subjects: shooting, physical training, mental strength, and combat skills. There are levels to attain in each subjects to become one.

A special warrior has to achieve the following:

Shooting: At least 18 shots out of 20.

Physical strength including: more than 72 push-ups in 2 minutes, sit-ups more than 86 times in 2 minutes, 3 km run within 12 minutes and 30 seconds.

Combat: Rapid march of 10 km at 25 kg within 2 hours and 10 minutes, 5 km vaulting at 15 kg within 40 minutes, leg tuck 20 times, full-length circulation in 2 minutes 15 seconds, 240 round-trip in 1 minute and 2 seconds.

Mental Education: More than 90 out of 100

Ability to fight individually

Some units require to pass CBRN, boundaries, first aid, and grenades and one must pass all of these courses to become a special warrior.

Special warriors are given special gifts and incentives like a special badge, early promotion, 5 days and 4 nights vacation, and certificate.

A few other celebrity soldiers who obtained the special warrior badge are Ok Taecyeon (from the same unit as Chanyeol), Im Siwan, and Yunho

Also worth noting that 9th Infantry Division (White Horse) are considered as one of the most prestigious and ruthless ROKA divisions.
