'Under the Skin' has been haunting us this past week. A truly alien cinematic experience and one that MUST be experienced on the big screen. It's a miracle films like this can still get made with a movie star no less.

Don't miss the most inspiring film of the year - 'Jodorowsky's Dune' is a master work of possible cinema. It will fuel you with enough cinematic hope to overcome a hundred failures.

#1 - Sun Don't Shine - Dir. Amy Seimetz (2012)
"Sun Don't Shine is a fierce and mysterious debut film from the talented Actress Amy Seimetz (A Horrible Way to Die, Upstream Color) that could teach many horror films a thing or two about creating dread, emotion and encroaching tension. A throwback to films like 'Badlands' & 'Two Lane Blacktop' with a pinch of 'Repulsion'. Unmissable filmmaking that felt both emotionally true and elusive at the same time"

[on making 1970s 'blaxplotation' films] You were working on pictures that the industry had nothing but contempt for. There was a lot of racism in the industry, a lot of it was under the surface, but it was here. And the executives at the studios really had contempt for the audience they were making movies for. It was an uphill struggle to try to do anything really good. - Jack Hill

The mystery of our first screening for 'Secret Sixteen' was revealed to be the cult classic 'The Mask' directed by Julian Roffman. Some truly incredible "dream" sequences in this film.

“Really, I mean it’s wonderful to live. And what worries me the most is that so much of the time I don’t want to live, and then I try to figure out why. Why not?”
