This song is NOT by MEG/Keiko Yorichika. It is by another artist who is also named meg, a jazz singer. As evidenced by this post on that meg’s website, it is her song and not MEG’s.

MEG has written a song for Negicco

It has been unveiled that MEG has written the lyrics for Negicco’s new song Oyasumi (おやすみ; Good Night). The song is composed by Negicco’s sound producer connie, and arranged by Yasuhiro Hasegawa of YUME to COSME. The song is described as Negicco’s first ballad.

The collaboration was first hinted in MEG’s announcement for studying abroad.

The song will be included in Negicco’s upcoming single Nee, BARDIA (ねぇバーディア; Hey, Haworthia Badia) to be released on the 11th of August 2015.

As a matter of fact, I’ve decided to base my life out of London, England starting in June.

I plan to continue my cafe and cosmetic brand as well as design supervision for my apparel brand, while going back to Japan every now and then for photo shoots and meetings, attending 3 schools abroad in different subjects like fashion and business, and slowly working on music. Now that I’m over 30, I was thinking about what I wanted to focus on in the way I lived my life from now on. I want to be a woman who entertains, comforts, empowers, and inspires my partner(s) and those around me. I realize that it’s something I’ve always loved, something that’s never changed about me.

And whenever I think about how much I want to soak up all the knowledge and experience I need for that from people, books, culture, I inevitably run into a problem no matter what I do, one of language and trivial expressions.

I think it’s my “impatience with sharing”, which I’ve always had and need to clear up someday. I moved to Tokyo in my teens, had the good fortune to have the opportunity for a music debut, and launched my brand. Now I’d like to spend my time thinking about how I’d feel divvying up what I’ve worked on for years to others while re-learning things from another angle, and what it’ll make me come up with. Right now I’m packing up my things, little by little. I’ve been donating or recycling my furniture, clothes, and my collection of shoes so big I couldn’t possibly wear them all.

Maybe I’ve lost my interest in material things, and having my own possessions. It feels so good to be so carefree.

I’m free no matter where I live, and no matter where I am, I can connect with the people who are important to me. I’m thinking of starting my life there with just my cat and all the luggage I can fit into my old American car. I don’t know how things will turn out, but I think it’s worth more to be charming from the inside-out than to be materially blessed.

There are so many wonderful things in this world; you could look at high-priced things all day. But in the end, what can you give to the hearts of others? That will always be more difficult. Since I’ve got my goal fleshed out, I feel like the OS inside me has been completely replaced or something. I wanna come back upgraded, with higher processing speed and more things I’m capable of doing! I’m excited, like when I first moved to Tokyo. On the clothing side of things, the F/W collection will be done soon, and outerwear is all ready to go. At night I’ve been writing lyrics to new songs with 3 people in particular. It seems like I’ll be able to work on songwriting over there too, which makes me want to do it more. Send me offers please, lol.

But even though I said that I won’t be in Japan, I’m still on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Google+. I’ll be at the same distance from you guys as always because of social media, so please check those out even though they’re going to be “The Struggles of a 30+ Year Old in Britain”. Well then.

P.S. -   My design assistants at BEAMS, the twelve cafe staff members, and my two secretaries are all fired up about looking over things at home for me despite their worries, but straddling countries for work will take a lot of time and effort in a lot of different ways. It would make me so happy if you could give them your warm support.

MEG set to move to London this June

MEG announced on her Instagram that she will be moving to London in June to attend three schools. Although she will move, she will still return to Japan for photoshoots, meetings, fashion decisions, etc. She will still supervise her café Maison du Ruban and her fashion line CAROLINA GLASER. She also plans to continue with music production.

MEG has opened a café aimed at working women and their children called "Maison du Ruban"

Proposed, owned, and manged by MEG, Maison du Ruban is a café in Hiroshima designed for busy parents, especially women, who would like time to rest and spend time with their children or friends. The café offers foods such as galettes (a traditional French wheat flour crêpe), drinks, and breakfast/lunch items. Workshops, boat rides, and child play areas are also available. The café is also designed to make women feel safe and have a gathering place.

Since people apparently don’t know what MEG’s been doing, a small update on her:

Reacquired her fashion brand CAROLINA GLASER after some corporate issues that made it seem like she wouldn’t be able to retain it/the brand name

Opened a (basically women-only; she wanted it to be a space for women) cafe in Hiroshima called Maison du Ruban, check out the official site for it here

Made an appearance at COUNTDOWN JAPAN 14/15 as part of RAM RIDER’s overall set, she performed Hijitsuzai Girl (past collaboration with Ram) and Amai Zeitaku

Uploading old things (including some past concert performances) on her official YouTube channel

So yes, she’s not “doing nothing” nor is she a ~flop just because she isn’t releasing new music. MEG has always been a busy (and fairly enterprising) person.
