This is probably controversial/killjoy. But at this point when people believe in things like "someone/something/god/the universe has a (benevolent) Plan for me and everything will work out", I find it not only stupid, but kind of actively offensive, because taken to the logical conclusion it means that either all the terrible things that happen to other people in the world are part of the Plan, or that this entity only cares about you and not those other people... I doubt most people do take it to this conclusion, but well what's the point of believing it. It just doesn't make sense. It's probably comforting to believe but that kinda never worked for me as an argument to believe something
