Think you eat too much to have a problem?
Many active people (women included) eat 3000+ calories a day and stay plenty lean.
The recommended daily calorie intake is 2000 for women and 2500 for men.
The recommended daily calorie intake for weight loss is 1500 for women and 2000 for men.
A 5-year-old needs about 1400 calories or more every day.
The minimum daily calorie intake for a long-term diet without medical supervision is 1200 for women and 1800 for men. Eating less than that eventually leads to starvation mode (a real–yes, real–state of biological stress characterized by decreased metabolism, increased cortisol production, and heart, brain, organ, bone, and muscle damage).

I find the whole “wear a bikini! no one is even looking at you!” mentality on tiktok so fucking bizarre because you know who’s looking?
Me. I’m looking. If you’re fat, I’m looking. If you’re thin, I’m looking. I’m looking if you’re fit, I’m looking if you’re not, I’m looking whatever your gender. I am looking. I look at literally everyone. Everyone on the beach is getting a look. Because I am a naturally curious person and I want to see what and who is around me. Sometimes I’m judging, sure, sometimes I’m looking for my safety, sometimes I’m just bored but I am LOOKING at you.
So the whole No One Is Looking mantra is insane to me. Because I know someone is looking. Someone is always looking!!!!!

When someone three inches shorter than you reveals that they’re three stone (42lb) heavier than you and you realise just how easily that could happen… ngl it’s exhausting? Like she’s fat and unhappy (she’s on a weight loss journey) and having to cut out so much of the stuff she enjoys. When she could have just watched her diet three stones ago and not ended up in this state of misery where she can’t eat an Easter egg and has to religiously walk 10k a day
There’s no rest for the person on a weight loss journey. I refuse to end up like that.

A protein cookie has 192 cals and 25g protein. Yes it’s low in fibre but that’s why you eat veggies and fruit. A 200cal snack for a 25g protein pay off is not all a person eats in a day.

Spent three days away for work eating and drinking with friends and colleagues and on one day alone I consumed 2700 calories. Don’t get me wrong I had a great time and ate some delicious things but it also felt like I’d ruined my progress (and I couldn’t work out for those three days either)
Back on the horse IMMEDIATELY now I’m home. Away again this week coming but I’m alone so I’ll be staying well below my maintenance calories and trying to max out on protein and work out where I can

My mother has always been overweight and is apparently trying to lose the latest stone she’s put on since Christmas and it’s impossible to listen to her
She stays in the house all day apart from going for one short walk. That is the crux of her issue. She doesn’t move enough. Her maintenance is probably something like 1200.
But every single suggestion anyone comes up with for moving more is met with resistance. Oh I get pains. Oh I hurt my shoulder once. Oh I don’t like the gym
Ok so you need to make peace with being fat then because if you’re not in a a deficit, the weight is going nowhere woman

Weighed myself today for the first time since Christmas, and I’m below the 9st mark for the first time in about a decade.
Fucking thrilled tbh, I know weight isn’t everything and I do want to keep building muscle but I feel so much better for all this effort.
