Relations to Other Gods (UPGs Included)

Once again lol, Persephone’s parents are Demeter and Zeus.

She has MANY siblings, seeing as how Zeus is her father. Just to name a few there’s Artemis, Apollo, Athena, Ares, and Aphrodite. You get the picture lol

She is married to Hades, and her children are Zagreus, Melinoe, and the Erinnyes. Zagreus and Melinoe are both fathered by Zeus.

Other types of relations to the gods other than being related directly by blood are:

She is friends with Athena and Artemis, and they would hang out frequently in Demeter’s gardens, along with Persephone’s nymph friends, before Hades abducted her.

She had been seducted by Zeus while the chief of the gods was disguised as a snake. She bore Zagreus and Melinoe from these interactions.

Her relationship with Dionysus would be a bit strange, by nature, seeing as how Dionysus is her son reborn through Semele. Although I’ve personally never seen a myth where they interacted. If anybody has one, please send it, even UPGs are welcome.

A UPG of mine is that Persephone and Hermes have a very casual friendship, since he’s the one who delivered her out of the underworld the first time, when she had likely been startled and flustered, and he returned her to her mother (according to the og myth).

To get started on this blog, I'd just like to address the fact that SO MANY PEOPLE DISREGARD PERSEPHONE.

They're all like "awww cute lil spring goddess got taken to the underworld and now has to be queen, whatever will she do? Cute little Kore~"

Here's a reminder that Persephone is not only the Queen of the Underworld, but she's much more wrathful than her husband. She was known in some places as Persephone Brimo (The Angry) and Persephone Epaine (The Fearful/Feared). She was not a goddess to be messed with. People all over Greece feared her wrath, and she was also known for torturing the shades of people unlucky enough to land themselves in Tartarus.
