Even though it has been some years since my first ever play-through, PMD: Explorers hold a special place in my heart, along with my first ever partner.
I'll never forget him.

Gosh, you’ve been doing keepers of light for 6 years now!
Scrolling that far back was a pain but hey, very fun read. I might have to dig up that other comic mention on the blog
Oh man, I have, haven't I? I took two long breaks early on, so that's probably why it doesn't feel as long for me. But thank you! I'm really glad you like it!

For anyone who doesn't know, I run game of PMD themed D&D games. I decided to create a campaign setting guide for my world and update the species traits for all of my playable Pokemon. Take a look!

Hey all, you know how internet searches suck now? When the results are awful, full-of-AI, death-of-the-internet levels of bad?
Start appending date constraints to your searches - "before:2023".
My results have gone from 90% AI bullshit to ~60% usable - which frankly at this point is a huge improvement.

Oh hold on I didn't actually explain what's in this.
So the handbook is mostly just the playable Pokemon and integrating them into a DnD 5e game. I've also written some variant rules for the variety of types of PMDnD games one might run. There are some notes for Mega Evolution for the playable Pokemon and notes for dungeon masters at the back.
The setting guide contains a lot of specific lore for the setting I run my game in. Aside from the world and towns and such, it's got lore for how I've chosen to integrate legendary Pokemon and a mythos to connect it to the world. Also some DND homebrew for some setting specific subclasses and new stuff for druid. How much you use of the book is up to the table. It's main purpose was to help provide a baseline for Pokemon in an original TTRPG setting.
For anyone who doesn't know, I run game of PMD themed D&D games. I decided to create a campaign setting guide for my world and update the species traits for all of my playable Pokemon. Take a look!

Hey if I were to make a campaign setting guide for my Pokemon ttrpg setting as a supplement for my Pokemon DnD homebrew, would anyone be interested in that?
I'm going to do it anyways, I'm just curious if anyone would read it.

So earlier in art class today, someone drew a characters hands in their pockets and mentioned that hands are really like the ultimate end boss of art, and most of us wholeheartedly agreed. So then, our teacher went ahead and free handed like a handful of hands on the board, earning a woah from a couple of students. So the one from earlier mentioned how it barely took the teacher ten seconds to do what I can’t do in three hours. And you know what he responded?
“It didn’t take me ten seconds, it took me forty years.”
And you know, that stuck with me somehow. Because yeah. Drawing a hand didn’t take him fourth years. But learning and practicing to draw a hand in ten seconds did. And I think there’s something to learn there but it’s so warm and my brain is fried so I can’t formulate the actual morale of the lesson.
