Plot:

After the events of the death of archaeologist Professor Caranza and his brother Eric in the cottage near the woods (seen in the first film "Join the Evil - The Cottage"), Vincent Ascia decides to rent out his father's cottage to the elderly Mary and her daughter Abigayl. Upon moving into the cottage, the two women face the curse of the place and the book from the very first night, and the elderly mother is turned into a living dead. The terrified daughter runs into the woods, chased by a mysterious force. Several years after the disappearance of the two women, Vincent Ascia moves into the cottage with a group of hippie friends: Sharon, Scoot, Shelly, Sandy, Bruce, and Rick. During a picnic with his girlfriend Sharon, Scoot finds the cursed book of kutu, written by Professor Caranza, in the woods and, by reading a formula, awakens the forces of evil. Sharon finds her boyfriend dead and turned into a horrible monster and runs towards the cottage. The friends do not believe what happened to Sharon in the woods and think it is a joke by Scott, and despite Vincent Ascia's warning to be cautious, they send Bruce to look for him. Meanwhile, Scoot, who is no longer human, has arrived at the cottage and begins to claim his victims. For the second time, the cottage becomes hell, and a lake of blood is unleashed.

Trama

Dopo le vicende della morte dell'archeologo Professore Caranza e del fratello Eric accadute nel cottage vicino al bosco,(vedi il primo film "Join the Evil - The Cottage) Vincent Ascia decide di affittare il cottage del padre all'anziana Mary e la figlia Abigayl. Trasferitesi nel cottage, le due donne si trovano ad affrontare la maledizione del luogo e del libro sin dalla prima notte e l'anziana madre viene trasformata in un morto vivente. La figlia terrorizzata scappa nel bosco inseguita da una forza misteriosa. Dopo alcuni anni dalla scomparsa delle due donne, Vincent Ascia si trasferisce al cottage, assieme ad un gruppo di amici hippie: Sharon, Scoot, Shelly, Sandy, Bruce e Rick. Scoot, durante un picnic con la fidanzata Sharon trova il libro maledetto di kutu, scritto dal professore Caranza, nel bosco e leggendo una formula risveglia le forza del male. Sharon trova il fidanzato morto e trasformato in un orribile mostro e scappa verso il cottage. Gli amici non credono ai fatti accaduti a Sharon nel bosco, credono piuttosto che si tratti di uno scherzo di Scott e, malgrado l'invito di Vincent Ascia di essere cauti, mandano Bruce a cercarlo Intanto Scoot, che non ha più nulla di umano, è arrivato al cottage e comincia a mietere le sue vittime. Per la seconda volta nel cottage si scatena l'inferno in un lago di sangue....

"Join The Evil – The Curse of Kutu", in Italia semplicemente intitolato: “IL COTTAGE - LA MALEDIZIONE DI KUTU”, racconta l’intricata vicenda di un archeologo, il Prof. Pedro Caranza (Davide Bella), e della sua scoperta nelle grotte sotto il tempio di Kut -Al-Amara, nell’Iraq meridionale, di alcune tavolette sumere, scritte dall’antica setta di Kutu dedita al culto di Azathot. I due figli Eric (Alessandro Corzani) e Vincent (Mauro Casadei), desiderosi di ricongiungersi col padre nel cottage vicino al bosco, iniziano una battaglia primordiale per sopravvivere alle forze del male risvegliate dalla lettura di una formula scritta nelle tavolette sumere e riportata nel libro di Kutu scritto da loro padre. Con il risveglio del demone Azathoth il libro diventa maledetto e mieterà vittime tra coloro che sprovvedutamente lo leggono.

Il film in parte Horror/splatter e in parte comico/slapstic, per la realizzazione il regista si è valso dell’ispirazione ai racconti – miti di Howard Phillips Lovecraft, al film Evil Dead 1981 di Sam Raimi e alle comiche di Stanlio ed Olio, dei tre Marmittoni e di Jerry Lewis. "Join The Evil - The Curse of Kutu," simply titled "THE COTTAGE - THE CURSE OF KUTU" in Italy, tells the intricate story of an archaeologist, Prof. Pedro Caranza (Davide Bella), and his discovery of ancient Sumerian tablets in the caves beneath the temple of Kut-Al-Amara in southern Iraq. These tablets were written by the ancient Kutu sect devoted to the cult of Azathot. The two sons, Eric (Alessandro Corzani) and Vincent (Mauro Casadei), eager to reunite with their father in the cottage near the woods, embark on a primal battle to survive the evil forces awakened by reading a formula inscribed on the Sumerian tablets and detailed in their father's book of Kutu. As the demon Azathoth awakens, the book becomes cursed and claims victims among those foolish enough to read it.

"Join The Evil - The Cottage - The Curse of Kutu" is exclusively produced by the series creator, Davide Santandrea, who conceived the comedic character "Vincent Ascia" portrayed by Mauro Casadei. The film combines elements of horror/splatter and comedy/slapstick, drawing inspiration from the stories and myths of Howard Phillips Lovecraft, Sam Raimi's 1981 film "Evil Dead," and the comedy of Laurel and Hardy, the Three Stooges, and Jerry Lewis. The film's soundtrack is partly composed by Omar Nedjari and partly by the musical group "Stones Circle." A presentation by LBV Productions.

The plot:

The Sumerian tablets of Kutu, discovered in the caves beneath the temple of the city of "Kut-Al-Amara, in southern Iraq, lead the discoverer, Professor Archaeologist Pedro Caranza, to translate and bring back their content, the "Laws of the Dead", in a book written by him, which he will name "THE BOOK OF KUTU".
