Individual Task - Week 3 from Jordy
In this lesson I’ve learned more about advertising and advertisements. There are a lot of different advertising companies out there, so it’s important to be good and original. So the company will which needs an advertisement will pick your advertising company.
I’ve also  learned about how important it is to have your commercial memorable so your viewers will remember this product when they’re in a store. I’ve also learned a lot about the process of an advertisement and how we learn this in school. The process is:
Briefing - Debriefing - Concept - Feedback - Selection

Commercial
We a presented the commercial in front of the class.
Analyzing our own commercial:
Attracts: It will attract people because the video is quite funny.
Interest: It does raise interest because of the boy in the video who is searching for something, people are going to be curious about what that boy is looking for.
Desire: The commercial is promoting a game console, I think that does suit the desires of our target group. The commercial will be seen by our other classmates, and most of them are around the 18-19 year old.
Action: The slogan is: Seek your desire. Maybe that will make them also want to have a Ludus console. The commercial will at least make them laugh. That’s what we aim for.

Voice-over
We want to use a short voice-over that pronounces the name of our product called: Ludus. And whispers the slogan: Seek you desires.
We also want to use a funny background music to give the commercial a bit more feeling.

Planning
Planning
As with anything, planning is essential. So, before you do anything else, plan your commercial very carefully. Consider the following questions:
What overall message do you want the video to convey? -To be curious
How long should the video be? (20 to 45 seconds in your case) -The video is going to be around the 30 seconds
Should the video be a quick, “punchy” overview of your product or a longer, detailed, informal commercial? -A quick, “punchy” overview of our product
Do you want the video to be personal, with a friendly voiceover, or would you rather stick to music and titles? -We wan to use music but also a voice-over

Lecture on advertising
On this lesson I’ve learn more about the process about advertising. There are a lot of advertising agencies around the world and they take on projects from different companies to make a commercial for.
The process goes from briefing to debriefing, concept, feedback and selection creative team - research - concept - feedback - pitch - selection - execution - implementation - after sale
“It’s not what you say is it, it’s what they say it it.”
A brand = a gut feeling

Brainstorm 2
The product we want to make a commercial about is a game console.
Name: Ludus Slogan: Seek your desires Idiomatic: - Patience is a virtue                   - The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree
The reason we’ve chosen for these idiomatic’s is because it suits the best with  our idea for the commercial.
The idea was about a little boy who want to play on Ludus so badly but can’t get in the room. Curiously looking into the window inside trying to get in the room, he eventually sees his grandma playing on it and she’s not letting him play.
But we have to make the idea a bit more simple cause it’s is not achievable in a short period to find a old person to play in our commercial.

Why Ludus & What is it?
Ludus is a new game console for everyone! Ludus is originally a fight school or training ground for Gladiators, used in the Roman ages. Ludus also means Game, or Gaming in Latin. That why we used Ludus as a brand name for our game console.

Good commercials VS Bad ones
Here are a few good and honorable commecials:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqkNPcUMffU - PS3 Baby commercial
- PS3 Baby commercial is a commercial that works to intimidate. By showing you something scary, it makes you interested and keep on watching. Therefor it makes it a rather good commercial.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWkoIKmLrXg - Skittles 18+ commercial
- The Skittles commercial was banned form TV, nevertheless the content and sexual subject makes it interesting to watch and therefor a good commercial.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XviR7esUvo - Nike Football: Winner Stay
- Not only is the Nike Football commercial very strong story wise, the film tactics they present are well done with a high budget. They tell you there shoes make you win. Thats why this is a good commercial.
And there are some rather bad ones:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cp5FAbJvUEY - Potty Putter Commercial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF4ny7KivzA - Mr. Microphone
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gw1g2yKxb0I - Tiddy Bear
All of these bad commercials are not only bad film-wise, the product they present does not make any sense.

Plagiarism| Maryam Sarajzada
We’ve learned a bit about plagiarism in the last English lesson. Plagiarism is using someone else’s work without giving them credit for it and pretending like it’s yours. You also have paraphrasing and that’s rewriting something in your own words or making a summary of it. Copyright is protection over your work. For example if you write a book or make music you automatically have copyright over your work. In other cases you need to ask copyright over the things you make. If you still choose to use someone else’s work without crediting them you might get sued for it.
