Something I found while doing research. It’s important to know how society’s stardatds of beauty effects others.
“Approximately 75 percent of girls as young as 9 years old have dieted two to five times in a given year.” (Flynt)

Article 3
“Dr. Raya Muttarak, a professor at the University of East Anglia and fellow at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, published a study concerning the social and health consequences of weight misperception in the peer-reviewed medical journal, “Obesity,” earlier this year. She found that the “portion of individuals with overweight and obesity misperceiving their weight status” increased markedly over the past 20 years. More seriously, those “underestimating their overweight and obesity status were 85% less likely to try to lose weight compared with people who accurately identified their weight status.”
“The Body Positivity Movement is not just spreading love. It is encouraging the medically false notion that anybody can be healthy at any size.”

Article 2
“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, obesity in America is common, costly and serious. More than one-third of U.S. adults are obese. While these might not be reality show-worthy levels of obesity, many adults obviously struggle with this issue.”

Article 1
“Using data from the U.S. National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 1988 to 2014, Zhang's team found that the prevalence of obesity and overweight increased from 22 percent in 1988-1994 to 34 percent in 2009-2014. During the same period, the percentage of teens who had tried to lose weight dropped from nearly 34 percent to 27 percent.”

Just because obesity has become the new normal, doesn’t mean it’s healthy or okay. Fight the real societal norm.

Body positive….?
I am body positive. I am positive that my body will last longer if I take care of it. I am positive that my body will not lose any limbs due to diabetes from being obese. I am positive that that my body will have happy and pain free joints. I’m not just body positive. I have a positive body.

If you think that thin people do not benefit from thin privilege then please take a good hard look at the world and reassess the media you consume because fatphobia controlled my life for so long. If you cant recognize fatphobia in it’s most basic levels then maybe consider unfollowing me because I’m really tired of people (esp thin people!!!!) Telling me it’s about my health or that I can choose to look this way or that because they also suffer from body image issues that they dont have thin privilege

We shouldn’t normalize obesity. Obesity is not something that we should see online and tv and think it is normal and healthy. you shouldn’t feel in comfort that you are a US size 40.

It's a damn shame that Camila's own fans are fat shaming her. She isn't fat, she looks healthier now
People who do this aren’t Camilas fans.
Camila is at a healthy weight right no as opposed to years before when she looked tired, underweight and generally depressed all the time. If you’re a Camila fan be happy that she’s happy and loving her best version of herself. It shouldn’t be about her being “fat.” Which she isn’t btw. As you said she’s looking healthier and is at a healthier weight.
