no offence but the reason tumblr is “dying” is, well, yes, of course the cursed like/reblog ratio and the change in user behaviour (because of people being used to how instagram and tiktok work) BUT also the lack of weekly shows. i say it with my whole chest, they don't produce captivating and engaging stupid weekly tv shows anymore because streaming killed that so you have spikes of activity here when Something happens in general fandom or up to three days after a new season of whatever drops and then it's a wasteland. this is obviously an old woman yelling at a cloud missing supernatural and the vampire diaries and pretty little liars and all these other shows type of post but honestly give me back weekly tv shows where i have something to watch for 40 minutes almost every day of the week after work so then i can read and reblog it on tumblr give it back for the sake of my sanity

Ugh, was having a great time mocking my recently imprisoned rival when I noticed the camera positioning makes it so that I appear behind the bars, thus framing me as trapped in a metaphorical prison of the narrative, now my whole day is ruined. Fuck.

As climate change increases the temperature and makes larger portions of spring and summer days unbearable we can, must, and should bring back and universalize the siesta. I want to clock out after lunch and go tf to bed. Humanity already solved the "it's too damn hot out to work" problem in tropical and subtropical societies the world over and more than ever we need to unionize for naptime.

funniest thing about my orpheus and euydice post is that i've seen multiple people now respond to it as if gideon is orpheus, when gideon is very obviously eurydice.

that's the thing about gideon. she's eurydice and she's sleeping beauty and she's the prince(ss) in the tower and she's also a butch with a sword. when she has any degree of agency she loves to be the hero but when she's trapped by outside forces she always ends up playing the damsel.

the obvious flip-side to this is that harrow has almost never really needed to be protected. she's been victimized plenty, but she's been very proactive in dealing with situations. she looks frail and bleeds from interesting places more than she really should, but she plays the hero. she's orpheus walking into hell. she's the prince discovering the glass coffin. and she might've been, but wasn't, the hero come to save gideon from the tower.

this is very cool and interesting and should be incorporated into fantasy aus more often.
