Maaan there's some for sale avatars I would totally buy to edit into my character(s) because the avatar is good and it's way cheaper than commissioning a custom (which often get up to $1,000!! Ouch!)... except the seller's TOS disallows customizing the bought avatar ToT

Based on everything I've seen in VRC and among avatar sellers, most avatars on market are made with the expectation they're being bought to customize, so it's saddening and unusual to see ones that disallow it :o

I always wonder if avatars with restrictive TOSs like that hurt their sales because of it (I mean, they technically lost a sale from me, so yes)... I can't justify spending $120-$150 on something I'm not allowed to even change the color of. But the artist makes the rules and decided to take that risk, so that's that 😣

Recently been working on a new avatar base, which will be released on Gumroad next month! Meet the Cloud Keepers, and open species of dragon based on Herbert. Been really wanting to release a cozy pear-shaped dragon for everyone to reskin and customize. I hope to continue adding new upgrades, clothing, and parts later down the road.
