Do you think Ash ever reunites with Larvitar? Tyranitar would be a cool addition to his team.

I plan for Ash to meet it but not catch it (as of now. Depending on how I write Tar I may get attached lmao we'll see).

My idea so far is for Ash to go to Mt Silver and learn that the now Tyranitar has been taking care of the Ho-oh temple in there and have some good ol catching up but not catching it :v

ngl I share the same mentality as Nanu, that Ash and dark types just... don't match.. so I always find myself avoiding such pokemon with him (would be fun to shake up his battle style? TOTALLY! But still. most of the times the vibes just dont work) (also Tyranitar screams Paul to me so, there's that too)

But then again, the pokemon teams in general are very up in the air for getting some changes. Like Rowlett is my arch nemesis LMAO i dont know what to do with him at all. Part of me wants to keep him a baby, another part loves the idea of it using seed bomb on a pokemon with pick up and then doing an evolution speedrun, and another part is wondering if I should change Ash's team for my Hisui fanfic and put it in there and give Ash a Hisuian Decidueye orz

Again, married Pearl is not my favorite (if anything this is the kind of marriage they would have and the kind of relationship that maybe i would like so maybe im projecting, who knows), but let's give it a shot.

I think Dawn would be the one more likely to do it tbh. They would talk about the possibility and Ash would be like "sure, why not?" and then she would spend days if not weeks planning on how to officially propose him. I think she would try a bunch of ideas and fail at them everytime (imagine her doing the "ring in food" bit only for him to choke on it LMAO) and everytime he would be like "you can just ask without a whole ceremony behind it? I will say yes no matter what." and she would be like "NO! It got to be special!!"

But in the end I think she would do it after winning a contest or some battle of his, or after a tag battle together yknow? Something completely spontaneous and that would surprise both of them :3c

One thing I like about Ash and Dawn as a ship is that Dawn will be completely unfazed with him 90% of the time but some rare times she will act vaguely like a tsundere or explode into a blushing mess.

This feels like the white-gold/blue-black dress stuff, but I always thought Dawn had black hair?

Welllll, if we go by the name they gave it in Legends Arceus, the actual color of her hair is "Slate" which according to ol reliable is this grey blue color:

But yeah, Dawn's hair can be whatever you want it to be (like eevee).

In DP anime her hair was blue, no doubt about it. Then in journeys they toned it's saturation down a bit.

Meanwhile, her early game looks did indeed lean towards black or dark grey. But after the anime, most of her official art started to look bluer too.

I guess more often than not, it depends on which version of her you're portraying (or what vibes you're going for). Like if you're thinking anime Dawn you will likely go for a bluer color, if it's game Dawn I notice some folks do lean into full black or a greyer blue.

The funny thing is that you can notice this trend with Akari too! If you see folks doing Akari with blue hair, 9 times out of 10 it's because they think Dawn=Akari. If folks draw Akari with black hair, they most likely think of Akari as a different person than Dawn.

In short: the anime enjoys adding saturation onto game designs and more often than not that ends up affecting how some of us perceive those character's palette.

YES IT IS!! In fact my very first fic series (whose's outline is at like... 50? 60? per cent) is focused on that :3c

And honestly, I hadn't thought about that neither!? But it's a super nice idea!!

In my AU we get both Dawn and Ash going to Hisui, and after that they both kinda settle down in their hometowns for a while to deal with the trauma and shit, and you know what, having Oak tell Ash at this moment that he was the Sam kid he met in Johto would be awesome!

And I guess he could give Dawn some support during the same time as well~

Rocket-dan Strikes Back!

Aw man, this episode was so fun until we had to stop everything for the Latias shit. UGHHHHH curse those damn legendaries ruining everything for my fave characters

But all in all, very nice episode, I love TR mons, loved seeing Mime Jr again, he is still a darling. I loved the lil gag with Brock, Ludicolo and Croagunk dancing and how the latter seemed so DONE with it lmao. Truly the star in all those episoded was Croagunk, I love him. Croagunk Project and lets go Croagunk when?

Two of my fave Ash mons also appeared here so win after win. Really a great episode if I ignore the Latias. Totally my favorite of this mini series.

Also, I just realized that other than Yamask all of James's pokemon japanese names start with a M. Maybe some reference at how his main partner Jessie also start with a M (Musashi)? That's super cute if intentional :3

Satoshi and Latios!

Bleh, legendary pokemon drama (again)! Sure its fun seeing the same thing over and over and over again (that's sarcasm, I am so tired of legendaries destroying characters chances of getting personal growth)..

All I can say about this episode is that once again: Brock and Misty didnt even needed to be here with how useless the writers always makes them in those moments. Just Ash would've been better and I would DIE to see him camping and surviving by himself, see if all the things he learned in his journeys stuck and all!! But NOOO, god forbid we actually thought about characters first and sacrificed nostalgia bait for it. UGH!

Best part of the episode was hearing Swellow's japanese VA again cause I absolutely adore it's deep deep voice lmao

Oh yeah, and I guess Latis can talk to Ash via Aura too. That's... fine. Sure. Don't hate it but bleh.

The Rainbow and the Pokémon Master!

Solid episode. I knew this one would be better than the rest cause all we needed was Ash being introspective for five seconds to make us feel ANYTHING!! But nooo, we couldn't have 11 episodes about that, how would people sit still for 20 minutes if there's not some stupid legendary on screen??? Sigh. At least it was nice.

But it didn't make me cry, and that makes it a mediocre episode. The lunar new year pokemon AD made me cry! I'M A CRYBABY! The fact this episode couldn't get a tear from me proves how this mini series forgot the true meaning of pokemon. But alas, Ash is finally free and that's what matters. Hope it stays that way. It's the best for him, let him rest. Amen.

Ohh, this is totally a hint that Ash is going to MT Silver right??

That's nice! And while I'm not a fan of Ash=Red I do like the implications here ôwô (part of me wanna be like "actually it could be MT Coronet" but I know that's impossible)

Speaking of Sinnoh, Ash going to look for Charmander it's kinda very similar to how Dawn got her first pokemon isn't it :3c? How she also offered to Rowan to go search for the missing mons mostly because of kindness than anything. They share the same exact brain I love them.

Winds of Beginning! The Endless Road!!

It's just me or the music at the beggining was Alola music? If yes.. That's just the cutest. Alola music as Ash's music QAQ

The best part of the episode was the 5 minutes we spent with Ash and Pikachu before the stupid Latias appeared. Add that one to the pokemon I now hate because of the anime..

Man, I'm still bitter those 10 episodes weren't focused on Ash and his Pokemon only. It would've been the absolute best way to use those 10 episodes (and still reach the same conclusion Mezamas as it is reached), why couldn't Ash ever be alone with his mons? He can be enjoyable if the writers tried. Sigh

At least Buizel is here ♥ Also it was adorable to see Noivern and Sceptile in security duty while everyone else slept! Babies! However I'm sad Buizel and Donphan didn't go to cuddle with AshPika and Latias ù3ú

What was the point of all the drama about "Ash's pokemon not being able to attack TR because it could hurt him" when... Pikachu just went and... did just that? (also, Noivern going there and breaking the glass would've hurt Ash less??????) I get they needed "Ash suicidal tendencies make him likeable" moment but gosh, it could've been done better, for sure.

And you know, mandatory Dawn mention, but it's kinda poetic that both Ash and Dawn got done dirty in their final moments because of some stupid legendaries. They're trully one and the same. Even in shitty writing decisions from anipoke staff LMAO

Satoshi VS Kasumi! Seaside One-on-One!!

I know that Misty's metaphor about how her and Clauncher are meant to be is an obvious Pokeshipping hint, of course it is! I know that! but...

Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist but the fact Pikachu ignored Psyduck for Misty, and Clauncher didn't seem at all to reciprocate Misty's feelings is... interesting... Added to that how Ash just replaced her lure with Cilan's is.. Almost like adding to her own metaphor, that while Misty still has feelings for Ash and believes that they're meant to be, because of fate, because she is the "OG twerpette" like TR called her, Ash himself is like.. Pikachu to Psyduck and Clauncher to her. Neutral at most, and with someone else having their favoritism.

And y´know, it's even more interesting that at the beggining of Sinnoh Ash still had her lure (and was protective of it) and immediately after Sinnoh he changed her lure for Cilan's. I sure wonder what happened between those events for him- It's Dawn! its Dawn that happened!

Dont judge me I can make anything be about pearlshipping if I try hard enough.

Shipping aside, I adore seeing episodes with the general same plot but with different characters. Compare this to the Buneary catch and it's really interesting to see just how different Ash acts with Misty and Dawn about the same thing. Him and Misty have a battle about who is gonna get it, which does makes sense, they will resolve all their arguments with battles instead of actual talking and I adore that trait of their relationship~

And even Misty's disappointment at the end, that Clauncher still likes hanging with Corphish is very different than Dawn bringing up her closeness with Ash to win Buneary over. I love those sort of similar episodes, it's great to understand how each character thinks.

Gosh, even comparing to Totodile's catch shows how Misty and Ash themselves have become closer and more understanding of eachother! In here they make rules about how to catch Clauncher instead of fighting the whole time, it's a nice showcase of how they've grown! I'm just sad that Totodile was in this episode and no one mentioned the similarities :T

Also I will never get tired of Pikachu's "Pikachupi"! Ikue Otani does it in the cutest voice and I just want to squeeze the rat's cheeks every time he says it!!!

Speaking of Pikachu, I love that at the very least in those 10 episodes he went back to having some hint of a personality since he hadn't shown much of it for... a long time before it (and remembered the names of the people he cares for. I was so angry at the lack of "Pikapi" in Alola).

Same goes for TR, is nice to see their motto being animated instead of some re-used footage. One of the things that made their apparitions enjoyable in OG-DP was that they always added some personality to it. That was fun to see again.

What if Dawn or Misty was The one in manaphy movie (ie they replaced may)

You know what, kinda of a shame Misty never properly interacted with any water legendary now that you mention it. 2nd Movie was all about Ash being a chosen one, 4th movie was about Ash befriending baby Oak despite Suicune being there, OG gang met that one Lugia in Johto but Ritchie was the one on focus... and she never even met the other water legends :T

It's so mean she never got a chance to show her knowledge of the type in any situation like that, gosh...

Misty would've been perfect in the Manaphy movie, but I doubt it being her or May would've changed anything about the plot. I can see her being more stubborn when being put in the safepod from the end sequence, but that's it.

Dawn.. honestly I can't see her in it. Specially with the whole "motherly" plot and also the fact she "didnt exist" at that time. The whole plot would have to be changed to accomodate her, maybe have Piplup be the once to bound with Manaphy instead and then work your way from there?

Do Manaphy and May ever reunite in your timeskip or is this a ‘the movie isn’t canon’ situation?

Everything the anime did is canon to my AU, no matter how stupid it was (I just.. dont have the patience to rewrite things like that :v not to mention my fic list is already HUGE as is)

But I'll admit I haven't thought about that yet, but I don't see why not.

Gosh the idea that Brock (during one of his ranger-wild doctor gigs) is even the one to reunite the both of them is very cute for me too (give Brock that interaction with his unnoficial young sisters that the anime never did much with).

Riding on Laplace♪

You know what, I expected to hate this since it would be another nostalgia mon cameo, but it was actually quite enjoyable. Could have happened without Lapras but it's addition didn't make me hate it so it's fine.

Pikachu threatening TRio into helping was the best, makes me sad about how little interactions we've had with TRio during journey's duration, I feel like for Ash's finale they really should've hanged together more. Alola trully felt like the closest thing we got to closure when talking about their relationship.

Juppeta's Search!

Another solid episode! A typical pokemon episode focused on a random Character of the Day and their pokemon. Not exactly what we needed for those final 11 episodes, but you know what? I take those instead of shit like episode 5 and 6. At least it was cute and sweet.

Though a shame TRio didn't appear here at all. But I guess next ep will make up for it.

Also is fun to see Croagunk upgraded into a walking mon for Brock. He deserves it.
