And through this war we lost our house, my university was bombed. My whole childhood neighborhood area was completely damaged. We have been displaced to three different places in search of a safer place but unfortunately there's no safer place in Gaza. Everywhere there's bombing, everywhere is dangerous, so we are now displaced in Deir al-Balah. And me and my family lost everything, we have nothing left here in Gaza.

And my mom is very sick also, she is suffering from Lupus and because she has Lupus, she is a kidney failure patient in need of an urgent treatment and care outside of Gaza. The hospitals here is so poor and bad and the quality of her treatment is getting worse and worse because the quality of the hospitals is bad, because of the conditions of the war. So please guys, help my family, we deserve to- we deserve a decent life, we deserve to start a new beginning and deserve a new life.

hi oomfs its me again. i dont know if this has been shared around already, apologies for the repetitiveness if so. we are still a little over two weeks away from ramadan but this ramadan fundraiser for sudan has barely reached 10% of their goal. there is also this fundraiser by the tarada initiative as well which is doing substantially better in terms of goals. please consider pitching in with whatever is possible for you. even if its $5, even if its less than that.

As some of you may already know, im currently approved to move into a new BMR apartment and I am “fighting” my current place’s property management group for violating habitability codes for never resolving the roach issues in the building, among other maintenance and housekeeping failures. I am breaking my lease 6 months early due to this. Ive never lived with roaches and it has taken a toll on my physical & mental health. For the past 4-5ish months i have not cooked at my apartment due to the roaches triggering my ocd and anxiety. if i do eat, its at work or whenever im out before coming home. Along with the non working amenities and $200 increase in rent, being trapped in the building elevator for 15-20 minutes (that hasn’t been serviced since 2018!), these are my main motivations for moving out.

My new place will be closer to work and in a comparatively safer area, to where i can walk around outside unaccompanied without fear of physical violence or sexual assault that i have experienced growing up in Oakland.

the deposit is a lot cheaper than what i ahd to give for where i currently atay. Only $348.

The deposit Im trying to get back from my current dwellings is about $1,700. Which they have been uncooperative so far and want me to pay the next 6 months rent until they find a new tenant even after i move out. Legally, im entitled to break the lease because they had months to fix these issues or follow up with me and nevertheless did. I also may have to get rid of my tv and new couch that i am still paying off due to the roach infestation that’s been in the building prior to my move in. 😓

My move in date is March 2nd and I would be grateful for help in securing the deposit for a speedy process as i am currently tapped out until my next check.
