i need for tumblr to get a working search function because i was trying to find my post about how for years i casually assumed ian curtis from joy division was gay because in high school i misheard the lyrics in disorder as "i've been waiting for a guy to come and take me by the hand / could these sensations make me feel the pleasures of another man" and thought it was so cool that the guy from joy division was openly gay. which isn't true. however i have searched my blog for "joy division" "ian curtis" "joy division gay" "ian curtis gay" "i've been waiting for a guy" and no dice. so i just wanted to retell that one.

So like I'm getting vague rebel rebel vibes?? Like the guitar?? Could just be me going insane after trying to learn rebel rebel on the guitar lmao. But again, IT'S GOOD?? LIKE SINCE THE BAND NEVER WENT FAR I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE MEH BUT ANOTHER HIT??? I'M GOING INSanE

you're kind of right though???? possibly also me going insane but it sort of has that kind bauhaus (bela lugosi's dead, famous goth song) -> peter murphy from bahuas saying he was trying to sound like david bowie but evil ????? idk???? like the echo-ey guitar and the prominent bass are pretty firmly post punk slightly joy divisiony in bits?? like the guitar tone in particular? i guess the slightly shouty singing in bits (like, less melodic) is also vaugely rebel rebel-ey and his voice does sort of sound like that when the words get harder to place but possibly thats like a British Accent Thing idk
