Lets create a house where yelling means we’re having fun. When you hear a door slam you know it was accidentally pulled with too much strength, not slammed out of anger. When there is silence, it is Contentment, not another passive aggressive fight. The dog is no longer barking to protect, he simply just wants the cats to play with him. Let’s create a safe, warm environment that makes you feel like you can breathe, not hold your breath. Let’s stomp on the eggshells we use to tip toe on. Together we will make this house into a home. And welcome all with open arms into this kind and loving space.
Vivzie has such an immensely unearned pretentiousness and bravado about her work given how she has one of the most unconfident art and character design styles I've ever seen make it to television. It's frenzied in it's addiction to making sure everyone is thin and covered in useless symbols and pinstripes. I didn't know it was this bad I was hoping the criticism I've seen online was at least a little cherry picked but these characters' visual chemistry bar is below ground.
It is impressive how awful these character designs are. I would struggle to do this on purpose
Doyle Canon: This is Dr. John Watson. He has managed to have multiple love affairs on three different continents. He is a love machine. A sex god, if you will. Able to woo multiple Victorian ladies.
80% of Sherlock Holmes Adaptations: This is Dr. John Watson. He looks like a hamster.
I gotta say I love how old Jekyll and Hyde stuff (think. The 1910s and 1920s) always refuse to refer to Hyde as a person, always hold off giving him any semblance of narrative personhood for the longest while, always point fingers back at Jekyll until the situation is so unsustainable no amount of guilt and shame can nullify his pain and he’s crossed both the moral event horizon and the line that separates a sympathetic hero from a sympathetic villain. I eat it up every time no matter how bad the rest of it is
