Requesting help for disabled trans friend

Hello internet, my friend Ash needs some help.

He doesn’t have a social media presence, so I am writing on his behalf. Two years ago, I helped Ash move out of an abusive home situation. Shortly after, he developed a chronic illness that required numerous medical visits for diagnosis and treatment. Because his insurance will no longer provide for co-pay and fund more rigorous tests, this has put him into thousands of dollars of medical debt, on top of the other debt it required for him to move here. We both live in an extremely rural area, necessitating weekly travel for more than 4 hours just to get groceries.

Because of his autoimmune disease, Ash is unable to get a second job to help him out of his debt. Nor can he focus on his hobbies, writing and crafting plush animals. His current job is already exacerbating his symptoms and he's sick daily. I am unable to support him financially, and he has no family who can help him either. His family is extremely abusive, so relying on them is not an option. Right now Ash is struggling to afford food and gas, and is unable to pay off his medical debt. I know that there is a lot of terrible crap going on in the world and that this call for aid is poorly timed, but anything helps. If you cannot donate, please consider at least sharing this post. He would very much appreciate it.

I'm not entirely sure if I should make this into a whole fic or use it for a five times fic. Either way, it's one of the first things I thought of when I started up First Gentleman from Hell.

“You got bullied by the White House Social Secretary? What did she do, put a calligraphy pen to your throat?” Sam asked, giving Josh an incredulous look.

“Yes, and no, she didn’t physically threaten me. She did tear into me for not respecting the social status of the White House, and for not doing my job as White House host,” Josh replied with some annoyance.

They were walking towards the Residence, Josh telling Sam about a visit he had earlier that day from the Social Secretary.

“Tell her you have better things to do then picking out silverware.”

“I tried! Then she threatened to use paper plates and plastic forks for our state dinner this week.”

Sam let out a sigh. “So now you have to spend a morning getting everything ready.”

“Morning, all day, who knows. You realize I have to pick out flowers? I don’t know anything about flowers.”

“I’m sure they’ll just give you some options you have to chose from.”

“I hope so, otherwise this has disaster written all over it.”

Preview of that WW drawerfic I was thinking about writing:

“Sam, can you hear me?”

Josh’s voice was the first thing Sam was conscious of. The second thing was that he was in absurd amounts of pain, radiating from his chest. “Josh?” he barely whispered, not bothering to open his eyes.

“You’re going to be okay. The bullet didn’t hit anything major.”

Bullet? Is that why his chest hurt so much? Slowly he opened his eyes and saw Josh hovering over him, somehow looking concerned and relieved at the same time. “What happened?”

“You were shot while you were speaking. Don’t worry, no one else got hurt.”

Sam tried to remember the event, but everything was too fuzzy. Even Josh was getting fuzzy.

“Now get some rest, I’ll be...”

There was blackness as Sam drifted off again without hearing the rest of Josh’s words.
