I think that I would absolutely prefer to have Hannibal as my therapist than to have Gregory House as my physician. Hannibal is a respected psychiatrist who would be a great listening ear for your troubles. He's probably only eaten about five patients. Meanwhile, every visit to see Dr. House involves him roasting you unprovoked, vanishing for a few hours, then returning to tell you that you have a rare Danish Blood Explosion Disease and that it's your idiot fault for getting it. And you can't even be mad at him, because he's actively curing your Danish Blood Explosion Disease. Why is he like this.

it is okay if you don't know literally every single detail about canon. It's okay!!! Its okay if you haven't seen every movie. It's okay if you never read the books. Its okay if you haven't seen every episode. Its okay if you haven't read every comic. Its okay if most of the stuff you know came from reading fanfic. Its okay if you have literally never touched the source material. Its okay if all you do is interact with tumblr posts or fanart. Its okay if you decide to make up your own version of events even if they contradict canon completely.

Fandom spaces do not exist to be policed. Fandom spaces do not exist to be gatekept. If you don't know each and every detail then its okay because fanspaces exist for you to fill in the cracks with whatever it is you like. You can literally headcanon whatever, no one can stop you. you have my permission to go crazy

Thematically speaking, the most important thing Terry Pratchett taught me was the concept of militant decency. The idea that you can look at the world and its flaws and its injustices and its cruelties and get deeply, intensely angry, and that you can turn that into energy for doing the right thing and making the world a better place. He taught me that the anger itself is not the part I should be fighting. Nobody in my life ever said that before.
