leitmotifs never get old to me like holy shit dude there’s this melody that corresponds to this one guy and if you hear the melody it means the guy is there. holy shit. and sometimes it refers to ideas too not just guys. has anyone heard about this
SIX MONTHS LATER I HAVE FINALLY REAIZED THAT GOW2018 DOES THIS TOO
When atreus is yelling at modi after killing magni (YOURE NEXXTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!), The Stone Mason is playing in the bg
They were hinting at him being a giant EARLYYYYY
I just think it’s really interesting that whenever Atreus shapeshifts SPECIFICALLY when he is out of control (example when freya attacks kratos or when he sees the ironwood paintings) the latter half of the Jotunheim theme plays, almost like he’s more Loki than Atreus in those moments
EDIT adding on that whenever he intentionally shapeshifts it plays HIS OWN THEME (example the race w angrboda or when he saves sindri during ragnarok). When he is more familiar with and in control of his own magic it plays his theme because in those moments it truly feels like his magic is HIS, not just Giant magic, and Atreus and Loki are the same person
In gow2018 when Atreus shoots at the deer without permission, LISTEN TO THE MUSIC AS KRATOS IS YELLING AT HIM
Kratos’s motif is building up as he continues yelling, but it’s suddenly interrupted by something we NEVER HEAR IN THE GAMES AGAIN - A FLUTE. WHAT DOES A FLUTE MEAN IN GOW CONTEXT
CALLIOPE.
Call me insane but I think he stopped yelling because he thought of her. Notice he stops yelling as soon as the flute is gone
Silly question for God of War fans - if you have teared up/cried while playing/watching Ragnarok, how many times and which scene was it?
My count is 6 so far - Fenrir's death, last flashback with Faye ("To grieve deeply is to have loved fully"), talk with Atreus during Ragnarok ("You feel their pain because that is who you are"), Letting go, Brok's funeral and Vallhala's ending
