Another one of my paintings: "At the End of the Day" This painting tells the story of a little black girl enjoying her favorite part of the day. At the end of the day is story time. At the end of the day, she knows that she will still be black with textured hair.  At the end of the day, she will still be brilliant, beautiful, brave and unique.  At the end of the day, she will still be confident, consistent, resilient and strong. At the end of the day she will still be special, amazing, celebrated and loved. The book being read in this painting is "Skin Like Mine"  by Latasha M. A SEGREGATED INTEGRATION" In the foreground is an image taken from the 60's when segregated schools were banned (Ruby Bridges featured on books).  Through the opened window is a protest that brings us into the present.   Check out how the protests mirrors the protests from the past. Occupying the same space at the same time DOES NOT make us even. It's obviously not enough to have laws changed on the books when you see little to no change in the heart of man?
