i think my main spop pet peeve is that adora is looked at as so dumb while catra is looked at as so smart. it’s not that catra is not smart because she definitely is. i’ve just noticed this need among fandoms for pairs to be opposites and i think it’s a huge reason why adora is characterized this way. adora is a dork at times but she’s not dumb or clueless. she grew up in a sheltered environment and it influences her overall way of knowing/viewing common knowledge, herself and the world around her. she’s an excellent strategist and a great leader and too often people reduce her to being dumb
