BIO
Monkhood are a Scottish rock band, formed in Glasgow in 2014. It was founded by Ignacio “Nacho” Puglisi, and consists of Ryan Hagney, Calum Mason and Alex Perrenoud. The band name was chosen to reflect the “hoods” we wear to protect ourselves which can sometimes isolate us even within our community.
With influences such as Foo Fighters and Nirvana, Nacho travelled home to Argentina where he contacted music producer Mauro Saldaño and began work on the demo tracks for what would eventually become Monkhood’s 7 track EP “Isolation”. After returning to Scotland, Nacho formed a large acoustic band, featuring piano and violin, to record a video performance with Keep It Creative Studios. With Mauro travelling to Scotland, Monkhood then began to record their first EP in March 2016 at 7 West Studios.
Monkhood’s debut EP has 7 tracks from genres ranging from Grunge and Punk Rock to Pop and Rock Ballads. “Isolation” is scheduled to be released in July 2016. t�3
