If you interpret Sokka as a transmasc archetype, as in he was probably the world's biggest tomboy til one day he came out as trans and the whole Southern Water Tribe smacked their foreheads and said "Oh my god that makes so much sense why didn't I think of it sooner?" then the whole thing when he first meets Suki and she shows him women can be cool too takes on all sorts of extra layers of meaning bc he's not only learning empathy and respect for people who aren't like him but also moving past some of the trauma of being closeted and from a mindset where he's trans bc being a girl sucks into one where he's just trans bc he's trans, a realistic experience many trans people go through which also aligns nicely with the themes of the show, and makes his love for his sister all the more profound and unselfish bc he doesn't resent her for being the good daughter he never was.
very excited for the iwbft reread so here's a jimmy <3

This is literally the 1717 equivalent of making Sims versions of you and your ex right after you break up so you can cry about what your life together might have looked like.
