we still get immediately shoved out of our immersion in tv shows or films when The Girl find a dead body and immediately shrieks - we just don't find it realistic because we're pretty confident most people would gasp rather than shriek (i.e. sharp inhale rather than sharp exhale) and it also feels unnecessarily (and predictably) misogynistic too, as men encountering corpses almost never do the same on screen

I think it's time for another yearly reminder that you don't need to respond to or entertain takes that you think are whack as hell as if it's indicative of the entirety of the human race. "We as a society need to take a moment and sort ourselves out" who are you talking about. Like are you talking about real people that you speak with on a regular basis or did you see an upsetting reddit post that got upvoted more than you would like. Are you quoting something said by someone you know and respect or was it a YouTube comment. Like I get it its upsetting when folks say stuff on the internet but sometimes you just have to not interact. Like at all. That includes making an 'insightful' vaguepost about the state of society when the subject is clearly weirdoes with no hobbies making inflammatory comments on the world wide web to feel something.

Sorry I know I'm like being hypocritical but I saw someone accuse the entirety of gen z and millennials of bullying gen alpha for being cringe and I just. Sometimes I will see something and understand the gut reaction that led to it but my guy who are you actually talking about.
