“zang jin”
I know she wasn't speaking English but it did kinda sound like Zang Jin said the N word after her vault when the camera panned on her.
I am so tired

LOL I HAVE REPORTED YOU FOR BULLYING ROFLMAO
Whatever. I hope you enjoy bullying a literal child, who btw is a world class gymnast. I've already reported you to @staff for bullying and harrasment and can't wait to see you cry when you blog gets shut down.
I’m not bullying anyone. I think Laney is impressive in that she’s both a cheerleader and a gymnast, and what she’s accomplished in a short amount of time is commendable. But that doesn’t change the fact that she’s not a world class gymnast and her scores back up that claim. And it doesn’t make her Dad any less of a dunce.

I really feel like the All Around documentary is not capturing Yile’s uniqueness. I don’t know if it’s the editing or if she’s just shy with the camera around.
To compensate, here are some of the fun facts about her:
She’s the resident “tastemaker”. She’s responsible for Liu Tingting’s new hairstyle. Ting2 was reluctant at first, but Yile cut her own hair to show her “big sis Ting” how it would look and convinced her to do it.
She teaches the younger girls how to paint in her spare time and they have art sessions together.
She drew the piggy on Sun Wei’s arm band and the Vegeta on Xiao Ruoteng’s arm band. Zou Jingyuan has one with peppa pig on it.
She recommends books and tv shows to her teammates. She got Tang Xijing hooked on Mo Dao Zu Shi (Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) and the tv show based on it. (Tang is now a Xiao Zhan stan, let’s hope she wont be another DYL)
She picked Ting2′s current floor music.

“That’s so China” but I can’t name one other instance of this ever happening in China…classic Gymcastic

From Gymcastic’s past few days of content we can safely conclude that Jessica, and basically its production team hold so much prejudice towards the Chinese they are literally flirting with overt racism. Shame Shame Shame :)
(For those who are interested and aren’t prone to puking from disgust, try listen to their “congratulatory” message of Xixi’s AA Silver and Team China’s Bars qualification score)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jessica from Gymcastic said that the rule is that gymnasts must be injured to be replaced in finals and that China are known for “faking injuries and Galieva’ing their athletes” because LTT competed in UB finals after she was replaced by TXJ in AA finals.
This is inaccurate in so many ways. The rules and technical regulations specifically say about the All Around and Event Finals that a federation can replace a gymnast with another from the same country as long as the gymnast qualified above the first reserve for any reason as long as it’s at before the 24 hour period. An injury or illness with medical certification is only required for AA or EFs if the replacement is done within the 24 hour period. Rules about the gymnast not being able to compete in later phases only applies to qualifications/team finals with choosing the alternate/or the alternate replacing someone on the team for example (this makes sense because then it would be like a team having an extra member/more members than they’re allowed to competing).
Also China doesn’t really have a history of faking injuries or substituting their athletes in finals, so I don’t understand this “that’s so China” or “Galieva’ing their athletes” narrative?
The most high profile/well known case is Gustu/Galieva (Unified Team) in 1992 and the craziest case is probably Omelianchik & Shushunova (Soviet qualfiers #4 & 5) replacing Mostepanova & Baraksanova (Soviet qualifiers #2 & 3) and then going on to tie for AA gold. These were all under the guise of injury/illness because the rule did exist then.
But I don’t think there were any rules about it afterwards and China was not the one who took advantage of this rule the most…
There was the Marinescu/Amanar substitutions at both the 1996 Olympics and 1997 World Championships where Belu flat out said it was because he thought Marinescu was lazy & didn’t word hard enough + Marinescu still competed in the 1996 BB final and 1997 UB final. At the 2016 Rio Games, Brazil substituted Saraiva for Barbosa in the AA, so that Flavia could focus on the beam final.
The only previous case I can think of for China is when Fan Ye was the top AA qualifier for China at 2003 Worlds, but was replaced by Kang Xin. Fan Ye still competed in balance beam finals and of course won gold there.
Of course there have been many cases for for event finals substitutions throughout the years: Iordache replacing Bulimar in the 2012 Olympic Beam Final (Romania), Afan replacing Komova in the 2011 World Floor Final (Russia), Zamo replacing Khorkina in the 2000 Olympic Floor Final (Russia), etc. Even the US has done it with Emily Schild replacing Gabby Douglas in the 2016 Jesolo UB final.

After a rocky team final, Liu TingTing is taken out of the all around and replaced by teammate Tang Xijing, who placed 21st in qualifications. Exceeding all expectations, Xijing hits all four events and ends up in silver medal position, making her the second Chinese gymnast to earn a world’s silver medal in Women’s Gymnastics history— their best finish to date.

#NegativityWarning
Was just listening to a certain popular gymnastic podcast and BOY was the host so salty about China’s e-score on bars! She kept saying things like “whats happening to China’s e-score on bars! what?!” as if the girls don’t deserve their 8.5-8.7s.
Like, honey, wasn’t this the score that Chinese girls should be getting ALL ALONG????? Which part of their routines makes them to be undeserving of such an e-score??? Or does she think that only scores like Luo Huan’s 2017 WC EF or Ou Yushan’s 2019 Junior WC EF scores are “fair” to the Chinese? :)
