On Thursday, June 7, 2012 a dismembered female torso with stab wounds washed ashore the small town of Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi and was discovered by city workers. That following Saturday, a fisherman discovered part of a leg 15 miles east down the coast. Police then searched the beaches in surrounding counties further finding another leg portion and then finally the head belonging to 22-year-old Jaren Lockhart. Five body parts in total were discovered along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
On the early morning of June 6, 2012 28-year-old Margaret Sanchez and her boyfriend, 39-year-old Terry Speaks coaxed Lockhart from Temptations Gentlemen’s Club in the French Quarter of New Orleans, where both Sanchez and Lockhart worked and were friends, with promises of her making money by dancing at a private party. Instead of dancing, Lockhart was stabbed in the heart, dismembered, and thrown over the Bay St. Louis bridge into the murky waters of the Mississippi coast. The next day the first body part of hers would be found. It is unknown how her last moments really unfolded.
The couple was picked up on unrelated charges on June 13, 2012. With a residence that smelled entirely of bleach and a suspicious timeline linking them from LA to MS around the time of Lockhart’s death, Margaret Sanchez formally pleaded guilty to manslaughter, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy to obstruct justice on Monday, June 20, 2016. She was given 40 years for the manslaughter and 20 for the conspiracy charge. Margaret Sanchez has been known to use the alias of Leslie Rice, a famous painter of dismembered people and other dark paintings. She has also been interviewed in relations to a similar killing back in 2006.
Speaks was also found guilty in the slaying under the same charges and was given life in prison.

The Jamison family, consisting of Bobby Dale Jamison (44), Sherilynn Leighann Jamison (40), and Madyson Stormy Star Jamison (6) went missing on October 8, 2009 and were never seen again. It was believed that the family from Eufala, Oklahoma drove to Red Oak, Oklahoma to view a 40 acre plot of land they intended to buy. The family had plans to move a storage container, already on their old plot of land, to their new plot of land in order to live in it.
On October 16, 2009, hunters stumbled across the Jamison’s truck abandoned on the side of the road. In the truck investigators found cell phones, jackets, Bobby’s wallet, Sherilynn’s purse, a GPS system, $32,000 in cash under the passenger’s seat, and the family dog Maizy, severely malnourished and on the brink of death. The truck showed no signs of damage or forced entry, and there was no evidence to conclude that the family were forced to leave their truck. It was speculated that the family left the truck willingly out of fear. Upon investigation of the items in the truck, Bobby’s cell phone had a picture of Madyson taken the day before the disappearance. The GPS system revealed that the car was driven further up the hill, and the location’s coordinates lead them to three sets of footprints.
On November 16, 2013 hunters searching for deer hunting spots in the deep woods found partial skeletal remains of two adults and a child. The remains were discovered only 2.7 miles away from where the truck was found. Investigators found items related to the family including shoes, bits of clothing, adult teeth, adult arm and leg bones, and bone fragments. The bones were confirmed to be those of the Jamison family, identified through dental records. Although a certain cause of death could not be identified due to the incomplete skeletal remains, the Coroner concluded that there was no evidence of trauma, although it could not be fully ruled out, and that the deaths occurred under suspicious circumstances. Items missing from the investigation were a briefcase and a 22 caliber handgun registered to Sherilynn Jamison.
There has been much confusion and speculation regarding the circumstances and behavior that followed the Jamison’s in the weeks leading towards their deaths. Security footage from the Jamison’s property records the two parents loading their belongings into the trunk of their car, but their behavior is strange and almost alien. The two adults are seen staring into the sky for long periods of time, as they make several silent trips from the car to their house, moving in a manner that is described only as “trancelike.”
Theory 1: Lost in the woods
A logical theory is that the family got lost in the woods and died from hypothermia and exposure. During the period of the disappearance, the area where the family visited experienced heavy rains, although they were not strong enough to cause their deaths. Weather forecasts showed temperatures of 40 degrees fahrenheit at the coldest, which is not enough to cause hypothermia. It is also very unlikely that the Jamisons got lost, as they were less than 3 miles away from their car.
Theory 2: Murder-Suicide
This theory arose when a mysterious 11 page hateful letter was found in the Jamison home. The letter was from Sherilynn to Bobby, who accused him of being a hermit. Another letter mentioning death was also found in the family home, a local sheriff investigating the case remarked that the Jamisons were “a family obsessed with death.” Connie Kokotan, Sherilynn’s mother, repeatedly stated that Bobby and Sherilynn were good parents, and also quoted “Like i’ve said from the very beginning, I think somebody killed them. There’s just no way that Bobby and Sherilynn would ever let anything happen to Madyson unless something had been done to them.”
Theory 3: Murdered by Bobby’s father
Bob Dean Jamison (67) had a history of violence towards his son. Six months before their disappearance, Bobby filed a restraining order against his father, as Bob had threatened to kill Bobby and his family on two separate occasions in November 2008, and April 2009. It was also stated that Bob had hit his own son with his vehicle on November 1, 2008. Bobby described his father as a “very dangerous man, who thinks he is above the law. Involved in prostitutes, gangs, and meth.” In his protective order, Bobby also stated that him and his family are “severely scared for their lives”, and that he is “fearful at all times.” The protective order was dismissed on May 18, 2009 after testimonies were given. Bobby was also in the process of suing his father, the issue was regarding unpaid work that Bobby would carry out at his father’s shop, in return for half the sales being promised to Bobby but these sales were never paid. Although the two Jamison parents were described as scammers, as they had previously sued three other people after a car accident. Jack Jamison, Bob Dean’s brother stated that although Bob Dean was “disturbed at the time” he was “pretty sure that he was not capable of being involved in that. (the murder)” Bob Jamison died in December 2009, and both Jack Jamison and Connie Kokotan both suspect foul play being involved in the family’s disappearance.
Theory 4: Murdered by a cult
It is believed by Sherilynn’s family that the family were murdered by a religious cult in south-eastern Oklahoma. Connie Kokotan stated that the cult had a hitlist that Sherilynn’s name was on. Niki Shenold, Sherilynn’s close friend received a phone call from an anonymous woman who told Shenold that she’d once been in a white supremacy group that kept a book of problematic people, and that sometimes she would look up somebody’s name if she remembered it. She then stumbled across multiple missing person’s cases, including the Jamison case. This is a credible theory, in the sense that the Jamisons once rented a room to a white supremacist in their house, but once they learned of his ties to the organization he was evicted from their house by Sherilynn. 1993 saw the rise of cults in eastern Oklahoma, although a U.S. Marshal added that there hasn’t been much activity from these cults in a couple of years. It has also been suggested that the Jamisons were into witchcraft, a witch bible was found in their home along with a copy of Anton LaVey’s Satanic Bible. Though, Niki Shenold told authorities that Sherilynn bought these items as a joke. The local pastor Gary Brandon claims that Bobby confessed to reading a satanic bible. Mysterious graffiti was found on the side of the Jamison’s storage unit, reading “3 cats killed to date by people in this area... Witches don’t like their black cat killed.”
Theory 5: Drugs
Rumors surfaced that the Jamison parents were involved in drugs, and it should be noted that meth was not uncommon in the area they lived in. A theory of the family being involved in a drug deal gone horribly wrong could explain the $32,000 in cash that the Jamison’s extended family did not know about. Connie Kokotan stated that the family were in financial trouble, and she does not believe drugs were involved. It is speculated that the money could have been intended to be used in a drug deal, but the lump sum of money is still unexplained. Drugs provide some explanation for the strange security footage, but it is said that there is no evidence of the Jamisons ever using or distributing drugs. On the contrary it cannot he fully ruled out that drugs did not play a role in their disappearance, if the situation were in fact a drug deal it is unlikely that the parents would have brought Madyson or the family pet along with them.
To this day, there are still no suspects in the death of the Jamison family, although the deaths were not attributed to natural causes. The case remains unsolved.

Characteristics and Traits of School Shooters
If you’ve been interested in true crime especially school shooters its common to wonder why anyone would ever be able to actually kill not only a person, but several. And the more you read about these cases you start to find out that they are alike, and have similarities that aren’t difficult to identify such as the following:
Leakage-“Leakage” happens when a student intentionally or unintentionally reveals clues to feelings, thoughts, fantasies, attitudes, or intentions that may signal an impending violent act. These clues can take the form of subtle threats, boasts, innuendos, predictions, or ultimatums.
Tolerance for Frustration-The student is easily bruised, insulted, angered, and hurt by real or perceived injustices done to him by others and has great difficulty tolerating frustration.
Poor Coping Skills-The student consistently shows little if any ability to deal with frustration, criticism, disappointment, failure, rejection, or humiliation. His or her response is typically inappropriate, exaggerated, immature, or disproportionate.
Failed Love Relationship-The student may feel rejected or humiliated after the end of a love relationship, and cannot accept or come to terms with the rejection.
Signs of Depression- The student shows features of depression such as lethargy, physical fatigue, a morose or dark outlook on life, a sense of malaise, and loss of interest in activities that he once enjoyed. Adolescents may show different signs than those normally associated with depression. Some depressed adolescents may display unpredictable and uncontrolled outbursts of anger, a generalized and excessive hatred toward everyone else, and feelings of hopelessness about the future. Other behaviors might include psychomotor agitation, restlessness, inattention, sleep and 18 eating disorders, and a markedly diminished interest in almost all activities that previously occupied and interested him. The student may have difficulty articulating these extreme feelings.
Narcissism-The student is self-centered, lacks insight into others’ needs and/or feelings, and blames others for failures and disappointments.
Alienation-The student consistently behaves as though he feels different or estranged from others. This sense of separateness is more than just being a loner. It can involve feelings of isolation, sadness, loneliness, not belonging, and not fitting in.
Dehumanizes Others-The student consistently fails to see others as fellow humans. He characteristically views other people as “nonpersons” or objects to be thwarted. This attitude may appear in the student’s writings and artwork, in interactions with others, or in comments during conversation.
Lack of Empathy- The student shows an inability to understand the feelings of others, and appears unconcerned about anyone else’s feelings. When others show emotion, the student may ridicule them as weak or stupid.
Exaggerated Sense of Entitlement-The student constantly expects special treatment and consideration, and reacts negatively if he doesn’t get the treatment he feels entitled to.
Attitude of Superiority-The student has a sense of being superior and presents himself as smarter, more creative, more talented, more experienced, and more worldly than others.
Exaggerated or Pathological Need for Attention-The student shows an exaggerated, even pathological, need for attention, whether positive or negative, no matter what the circumstances
You can read about more common traits and characteristics in the The School Shooter: A Threat Assessment Perspective here. Thats where I was able to find most of the information. Its important to know the traits of school shooters so that you can look for any subtle red flags and help anyone that might be struggling. You can make a difference, and even possibly prevent someone from harming themselves and others.

The Moors Murders, 1963-1965 was a crime that reduced Britain to it’s knees. Ian Brady and Myra Hindley took part in the sexual assault and murder of five children over a two year period, burying some of their victim’s remains in Saddleworth Moor in Greater Manchester. The killers would seduce their victims by Hindley asking them to help her find an expensive glove she lost on the moorside and promised them sweeties and a lift home after the glove was found. During the search for the pseudo glove, Brady would usually rape the victims and slit their throat’s afterward. Even to this day, not all of the victim’s remains have been found. David Smith, an acquaintance of Brady and Hindley tipped off police about the murders and sexual abuse in 1965. Brady was arrested on suspicion of murder on 7th of October 1965, and Hindley was arrested on suspicion of murder on October 11th 1965. The trial into the crimes commenced in April 1966 and both were faced with three murder charges. Brady was charged with all three murders while Hindley was only charged with two. Brady recieved three concurrent life sentences and was confined to a high security psychiatric hospital in Merseyside, England. Hindley was given two life sentences plus an extra seven year term, she served her prison sentence in a women’s prison. She is one of three women in Britain to serve a life sentence. Hindley died of bronchial pneumonia on Nobember 15, 2002 aged 60. Brady died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on May 15th, 2017 aged 79.

A case that makes me feel sick to my stomach, one that doesn’t gain much attention but is undoubtedly one of the worst in British history. Suzanne Capper died at 16 years old on December 18, 1992. Her death was caused by multiple organ dysfunction syndrome caused by third degree burns. Her death was no accident, and it started when she was accused of giving two of her kidnappers pubic lice from sleeping in the same bed as them. The six kidnappers devised a plan to lure her to a house, force her to shave her head and her eyebrows then clean up her own hair. They then further intensified the humiliation by placing a plastic bag on her head and made her walk around the house while hitting her on the head. Not yet content with the ritual of humiliation, they forced Suzanne to shave her own pubic hair before kicking her and beating her with a 3 foot long wooden instrument. They then locked her in a cupboard overnight, but transferred her to another torture house in the morning as Suzanne’s cries were disturbing some of the children living in the house at the time. In her new surroundings, they tied her to an upturned bed.
Over a period of five days, Suzanne was subjected to violent acts which only increased in severity as time passed. She was regularly beaten, injected with amphetamines, burned with cigarettes, and forced to listen to rave music - in particular, Hi, i’m Chucky. (Wanna Play?) by 150 Volts on maximum volume. Suzanne’s captors would commence every torture session with the phrase “Chucky’s coming to play”, which was enough to make Capper scream. The kidnappers immobilized Suzanne by leaving her blindfolded, gagged, and tied to a bed; She was also laying in her own urine and feces for several days, then placed in a bath of disinfectant and scrubbed with a stiff brush in an attempt to remove skin and irritate wounds and sores. One kidnapper used plyers to extract two of Suzanne’s teeth, keeping them as a trophy in his own home. It was reported that a friend of the kidnapper’s knew about Suzanne’s ordeal and was even begged by Suzanne to be rescued while he was asked to sit in and guard her, but he refused to help as he was “afraid of getting battered.”
The six agreed it was time to get rid of Capper, after they were told by Suzanne’s mum, Michelle Capper that her stepfather was going to report Suzanne as a missing person to police. In the early hours of the 14th of December, 1992, Suzanne was forced into the boot of a stolen white Fiat Panda car and driven to a narrow lane at Werneth Low near Romiley, on the outskirts of Stockport. It is said that her kidnappers giggled throughout the journey knowing that they would commit the perfect murder. On arrival, Suzanne was pushed into an embankment of brambles before being saturated with petrol. The perpetrators had difficulty igniting the petrol, and after three failed attempts at using a folded envelope as a taper, they eventually lit Suzanne on fire who went straight up in flames screaming. During the horror, one of the murderers began to sing “Burn, baby, burn!” from The Trammps song Disco Inferno. They believed Capper to be dead, and returned home where they celebrated with alcohol.
Miraculously, Suzanne did not die during the fire, she scrambled up the embankment and staggered up the lane for a quarter of a mile to Compstall Road, where she was found by Barry Sutcliffe and two work colleagues at 6:10am. Suzanne was then taken to a nearby house where she was described as looking like “raw meat.” Her face was featureless and her hands were red raw and black at the fingertips. She was unable to hold a drinking glass without assistance despite drinking 6 glasses of water. Suzanne was then rushed to hospital, giving the names of her attackers to police before falling into a coma. Her mother and stepfather were unable to recognize their daughter due to the extent of her burns, but her identity was confirmed by a partial thumbprint. Suzanne died on December 18th, 1992. She never regained consciousness from her coma and died as a result of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. May she rest in peace.
Her murderers were arrested at 7:30am on December 14th, 1992. Despite denying all involvement in the murder, two of the perpetrators laughed and joked while being arrested. The six appeared before magistrates in Manchester and were remanded in custody and charged with kidnapping and attempted murder. They were all charged with murder on December 23rd, 1992 and the trial commenced on November 16th, 1993. The trial lasted 22 days and all parties testified to minimize their involvement in the henous crime. They were all sentenced to serve time in prison, with sentences ranging from 15-25 years.

Anthony John Hardy born on the 31st May 1951. Anthony Hardy or nicknamed the Camden Ripper was an English Serial Killer. He was given the nickname of the Camden Ripper as he would murder and dismember prostitutes like Jack the Ripper of London in 1888.
Hardy had quite an uneventful childhood and actually excelled in school and college and later earned a degree in engineering. Hardy married and fathered three sons and one daughter. His marriage quickly soured and his wife divorced him in 1982, due to domestic violence. Hardy was apprehended in Tasmania for the attempted drowning of his wife. The charges were later dropped.
After Hardy’s divorce he would enter a mental asylum, where he would be diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Hardy came to pick up multiple convictions for theft and drunk and disorderly behavior. He was then arrested again in 1988 as a prostitute accused Hardy of raping her. The charges were dropped due to lack of evidence. He later became an alcoholic and diabetic.
In January 2002, police were called to the block of flats where Hardy lived by a neighbour complaining that someone had vandalised her front door and that she strongly suspected Hardy. When the police investigated Hardy's flat, they found a locked door and, despite his claims to the contrary, found that Hardy had a key to it. In the room the police found the naked dead body of a woman lying on a bed with cuts and bruises to her head. She was identified as Sally White, 38, a prostitute who had been living in London. Forensic pathologist Freddy Patel subsequently concluded that White had died of a heart attack, in spite of the circumstances.
Hardy pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal damage and claimed he had no knowledge of how White came to be in his flat due to his drinking problem. Whilst in custody Hardy was transferred to a psychiatric hospital, under section 37 of the Mental Health Act 1983, remaining there until November 2002.
On 30 December 2002, a homeless man scavenging for food in bins found some of the dismembered remains of two women, stuffed into bin-liners. The victims were identified as Bridgette MacClennan, 34, and Elizabeth Valad, 29. The investigation led to Hardy, who was arrested a week later. He had gone on the run, but was spotted by an off-duty policeman when he went to Great Ormond Street Hospital to collect his prescription for insulin.
During a search of the grounds of the hospital, Hardy was found hiding behind bins. A fight took place as he resisted arrest, during the course of which a police officer was knocked unconscious and another officer was stabbed through the hand and had his eye socket dislocated. Despite suffering these injuries, the wounded police officer held Hardy until backup arrived and he was arrested at the scene.
Hardy would refuse to comply with officers, but in time changed his plea to guilty. In November 2003, he was sentenced to three life terms for three murders but he may have killed and dismembered up to nine women.
Hardy has since been diagnosed with a personality disorder and it was decided in May 2010, from a high court judge that Hardy shall never be released from prison. Direct quote from Mr. Justice Kieth “this is one of those exceptionally rare cases in which life should mean life”.

Nick Walczak, Chardon High School shooting survivor for New York mag
Shot at age 17 by a fellow classmate using a .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun.
I was voted Captain of Crazy at school, which is like class clown. I was really loud and outgoing. I think TJ didn’t like that. TJ was quiet, and I think that’s why he aimed the gun at me. He must have shot me three times. And then he chased me down the hall — and that was the bullet that paralyzed me.
It really bugs me when people say anything about bullying. I could see how they might think, “Oh, the class clown. He probably was a bully.” I really wasn’t. None of my friends were, especially to this kid. I knew him from childhood. I’ve never said a bad word to him. We kinda disconnected, that’s all. The last time I’d seen him was the summer before.
I was driving my car on a back road. He was walking by himself, and it was hot. And I was like, “Hey, man. You need a ride?” He said, “No. My grandma lives right down there.” I was like, “All right, well, take care, dude.”

Undoubtedly my favorite case and my favorite criminal, Ted Kaczynski, also known as the ‘Unabomber’ sent 16 mail bombs to university professors, and airlines, hence the name ‘Unabom’. Kaczynski’s crimes spanned over 17 years, from 1978-1995. Kaczynski was a math prodigy who attended Harvard University on a full scholarship at age 16. Kaczynski abandoned a career as a mathematician to live a primitive lifestyle in western Montana, his reason for this being the decay of the natural world around him. While creating his bombs, Kaczynski would inscribe ‘FC’, which stood for Freedom Club into indestructible components on the bomb. He often left very misleading clues regarding his bombs and took extreme precautions to avoid any fingerprints or DNA evidence being left on the bombs. Kaczynski’s motive for the 16 bombings was to start an anti-technology revolution, believing that technology was the sole destroyer of a crumbling society. In 1995, Kaczynski mailed his 35,000 word anti-technology manifesto to the FBI and promised to ‘permanently desist from terrorism’ if his manifesto was published in a major newspaper. Upon compliance with the Unabomber’s request, the Washington Post agreed to print the anti-technology essay, which gained worldwide attention. In particular, it gained attention from Linda Patrik, wife of Kaczynski’s younger brother; David Kaczynski. David and Linda eventually came to the realization that the elusive Unabomber could be Ted Kaczynski. David tipped off the FBI and provided investigators with letters from Ted to analyze, strikingly Ted and the Unabomber shared the same views, used the same phrases and the same spelling errors. Ted Kaczynski was arrested on April 3rd, 1996 and an extensive search of his Montana cabin revealed bomb components, 40,000 handwritten journal pages harboring bomb making experiments, descriptions of the Unabomber’s crimes, and a live bomb. On April 10th, Kaczynski was charged with 10 counts of illegally transporting, mailing and using bombs, and three counts of murder. Kaczynski’s lawyers attempted to enter an insanity plea, which was rejected by Kaczynski and was deemed fit to stand trial. Kaczynski attempted suicide by hanging in his cell on January 9th, 1998 but was saved before he could die. He was later diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. On January 22nd, 1998 Ted Kaczynski pleads guilty to all charges and was given life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. Ted is currently serving his 8 life sentences at ADX Florence in Colorado.

Commonly known as the Ken and Barbie Killers due to their good looks, Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka raped and murdered three young girls in the Ontario region of Canada between 1990-1992. The first victim being Karla’s 15 year old sister, Tammy Lyn Homolka. Bernardo was a former accountant who lived with and was adored by the Homolka family. Homolka was a vetinary nurse who lived with Paul and her family.
Paul had a fascination for Karla’s younger sister Tammy, he would go so far as to masturbate in her bedroom while she was asleep and watch her through her bedroom window, with the aid of Karla. Homolka would steal Valium from her employer and put it in Tammy’s food, after Tammy passed out Bernardo would begin to rape her while Homolka watched. On December 23, 1990 Homolka steals the anasthetic Halothane and slips it into Tammy’s rum-and-eggnog drink. Once she had passed out, they then undressed her, applied a Halothane soaked cloth to her nose and proceeded to rape her. The motive for this being that Homolka wanted to ‘give Bernardo Tammy’s virginity for Christmas’. Tammy began to vomit in her sleep, and the killers were unable to revive her. They dressed her, placed her back in her bed, and called 911. Tammy never regained consciousness and later died in hospital. Despite the burns on her face from the Halothane soaked cloth, her death was ruled as accidental as it was believed she died from choking on her vomit as a result of too much alcohol.
The couple’s second victim was 14 year old Leslie Mahaffy, who Bernardo found locked out of her house after curfew. The girl asked Bernardo for cigarettes, as she approached the car he blindfolded her, forced her into his car and drove them both to his and Homolka’s new home in Port Dalhousie. During the rape and torture of the young girl, the couple videotaped the event and listened to Bob Marley and David Bowie. Bernardo was quoted saying “You’re doing a good job, Leslie, a damned good job!” also adding “The next two hours are gonna determine what I do to you. Right now, you’re scoring perfect.” Bernardo claimed that Homolka fed Leslie a lethal dose of Halcion and was also strangled to death before hiding her body in the basement. They dismembered her body and stored various parts in cement before disposing of the cement blocks in Lake Gibson. Mahaffy’s body was found on June 29, 1991, orthodontic appliances she wore were used to identify her.
The last known victim of the Ken and Barbie Killers was 15 year old Kirsten French. On April 16, 1992 Homolka and Bernardo abducted Kirsten while out searching for potential victims. Homolka pretended to be lost and presented herself with a map, asking Kirsten for directions. When focused on the map, Bernardo attacked her from behind, brandishing a knife, forcing her into the front seat of his car. French’s parents knew something was wrong when she didn’t come home within 15 minutes, and notified Niagra Regional Police Service (NRP), who found several witnesses who saw the abduction from various locations. Investigators found Kirsten’s shoe in the parking lot where the car was parked, which only revealed the severity of the situation. On Easter weekend, the couple videotaped the rape, torture, and sodomy of Kirsten and forced her to drink alcohol and submit to Bernardo. At one point Kirsten tried to escape, which provoked Homolka to beat her with a rubber mallet. Kirsten died by strangulation of a noose attached to a hope chest. Kirsten’s nude body was found in a ditch in Burlington, 30 minutes away from the scene of the kidnap.
Bernardo was arrested on 17 of February, 1993 and was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, kidnapping, forcible confinement and sexual assault, and one count of committing an indignity to a body. On September 1st, 1995 Bernardo was sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole in 25 years. Bernardo had his requests for day and full parole denied and will likely never be released as he is deemed a dangerous offender.
Homolka was charged with two counts of manslaughter, the murders of Mahaffy and French on May 6th 1993. Homolka earned a reduced sentence as part of a plea bargain to testify against Bernardo. She recieved a 12 year sentence for her role in the murders. Homolka was released in 2005 and now has a new husband and three children residing in Quebec.

On July 26, 2009, a San Antonio mother by the name of Otty Sanchez attacked her 3-week-old son with a kitchen knife, nearly decapitating him, and chopped off his fingers and toes, mutilated his genitals, and flayed his skin. Several bite marks were also found across his body, and it was discovered that Otty had cannibalized parts of her son’s body, including his brain. Otty claimed that the devil made her do it or else she’d burn in hell. She was found not guilty by reason of insanity.

Richard Leonard Kuklinski. Better known as “The Iceman”. One of the eeriest, cold-hearted and remorseless American hitman/serial killer I’ve come across.
Born on April 11th 1935 in Jersey City. Kuklinski grew up in an abusive household at the hands of his father repeatedly during his childhood. As well as his mother who would use broom handles to strike him with across his body until its snaps.
He admitted to killing neighborhood cats by tying their tails together by rope and throwing them over clothing lines to watch them tear each other apart. During different times he would also put individual cats into basement incinerators watching through thick glass oven doors as the terrified feline would sprint around as its consumed by flames. Kuklinski would sometimes fantasize about murdering his father while he tortured stray dogs that he captured around his hometown. Committing his first murder at the young age of 14, he confessed he felt “empowered” after.
In his adult life he became a hitman to the multiple mafia families, such as the De Cavalcante’s, the Genovese and the Gambino’s. Ex husband to Linda Kuklinski and father to 2 daughters from their marriage, ex husband to Barbara Kuklinski and father to 1 son from their marriage. Kuklinski’s line of work was unknown to his family until his arrest and conviction
Kuklinski was convicted of just 6 murders but had claimed to kill over 200 people with his favored method of cyanide poisoning and asphyxiation as he didn’t favor bloody acts of murder. His criminal penalty consisted of 2 consecutive life sentences in Trenton state prison in New Jersey with his estranged brother.
In ‘The Iceman Confessions of a Mafia Hitman’ series (a very interesting 3 part documentary, each 15 minutes long, which I’ll link below) in which he admits he killed every friend he had bar one. Which coincidentally turned out to be the one friend who would arrest and present evidence of his criminal activities in court.
Kuklinski died on the 5th of March 2006, of natural causes, aged 70 in Trenton Hospital, New Jersey.

Timothy McVeigh, a former U.S. army veteran took the lives of 186 adults and children when he set off a bomb outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. McVeigh’s motive was sparked by the 1992 Ruby Ridge incident, when the Weaver family were the subjects of arrest by U.S. federal agents, claiming the lives of a child and a mother of three. The main motivation behind the deadly attack was the Waco, Texas incident in 1994, where McVeigh visited and sold bumper stickers to supporters, some of which illustrated Neo-Nazi messages. McVeigh was an avid visitor of gun shows where he associated with Neo-Nazis and eventually joined the movement. McVeigh held an obsession for the Turner Diaries, a novel which depicts a violent revolution in the United States, eventually resulting in the overthrow of the federal government, nuclear war, and a race war. McVeigh’s goal was to anger and gain the attention of the government in wake of the Waco, Texas incident. McVeigh believed that a body count will succeed this, he targeted the Alfred P. Murrah building as the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, & Firearms) had offices within the building. On June 11, 1997 McVeigh was sentenced to death, on June 11, 2001 he was executed by lethal injection. Timothy McVeigh became the first prisoner to be executed since 1963.

Barry Loukaitis (14) perpetrated the 1996 Frontier Middle School shooting on February 2nd in Moses Lake, Washington. Loukaitis arrived to school in an all black wild west outfit, killing his algebra teacher and two students, while seriously injuring another student and held his classmates hostage before he was subdued by a gym coach. During the shooting, Loukaitis quoted from the Stephen King novel “Rage”, citing “This sure beats the hell out of algebra, doesn’t it?” The motives for the killing range from mental illness to his dysfunctional family. Loukaitis’s mother, Jo Ann Phillips, frequently spoke of a double suicide plan on Valentine’s Day 1996 with Barry in order to seek revenge on Barry’s father for having an affair. Loukaitis suffered with dysthymic disorder, was taking Ritalin at the time to treat hyperactivity, and was believed to suffer from clinical depression. In June 1996, Loukaitis was tried as an adult when he was 15 years old. On September 24, 1997, he was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder, one count of second-degree murder, one count of first-degree attempted murder, and 16 counts of aggravated kidnapping. He was sentenced to serve two life sentences and 205 years without the possibility of parole. In 2017, Loukaitis was re-sentenced to 189 years in prison. He is currently serving his sentence at the Clallam Bay Corrections Center in Washington State.
