The cost of living, the cost of housing, the cost of rent....The minimal wages people are paid.... I work my ass off in a full time position; yet I cannot afford to rent with my partner... The cost of houses means many many years of saving before we'll have enough money for a house deposit.... As young adults it's almost impossible to start my independent life even though that's where I really should be... I have to think twice about going out for the occasional meal with my partner, or spending my free time doing enjoyable activities because if I do.... That's money not being saved in a losing battle... This relentless strain creates major issues for mental health for so many young adults today.  Depression, anxiety and stress levels in everyone I know is such a sad sight.   The way these things are genuinely makes me want to just  give up on life.. give up on trying... It's too hard and feels like we'll never ever get anywhere...
