remember to cry for help without guilt-tripping. i know it feels like you’ve been abandoned and betrayed, but it’s probably not true, and it’s not okay to accuse the people around you of something they might not have done.

“i guess none of you like me” could be better phrased as “i feel unloved right now”

“but nobody cares anyway” could be better phrased as “i feel insignificant and i need reassurance”

rather than assuming others’ feelings, give them time to explain them. you’ll usually get a much better answer.

I'm designing a version of Formal Penny for Katsucon next year -- because I do have a number of ideas for things I'd like to do with her but it'll take a lot of time and money to do, so I'm starting almost a year in advance. The only consistent part of all these designs, however, is the addition of neon green LEDs into the clothing. I want my robot to light up.

To people that go non-verbal it’s really hard to deal with others sometimes. They get mad at us or just think we are joking or we can always control it. If someone is non-verbal, yelling won’t help, it’ll just make them scared and less encouraged to talk.

Maybe for you talking is not a big deal, but it can truly be overwhelming for a lot of people. Respect it, this is not about you, this is about someone else, being angry about it doesn’t even make sense. Learn how to understand other people’s struggles.

Excuse my unmade bed but thanks to a couple of wonderful friends being very generous this past holiday season, I’ll be able to remake Hush! And even make a carrying case for her, since she’s notoriously difficult to transport!

I don’t have any “before” pics of the base parasol yet, but I’ll take those when I start painting her. So in the meantime, here’s the base for her case.

It’s a drawing/poster tube for art, architecture, design, etc. I’d seen people carry these at cons for years to transport prints, and at NYCC this past year, I made the connection that it’d be a creative way to safely carry Hush to and from conventions. It’s not an indestructible case by any means, but it’s definitely going to offer Hush far more protection than carrying her out in the open. I could actually put her on luggage racks instead of needing to keep her against walls/between my knees/on my lap the whole time for fear of her being scratched, chipped, or stepped on. It will be labeled for safety, of course, with the contents clearly listed on the lid. I’ll be placing a luggage tag on the strap when I can buy a spare, as well, so that it is entirely clear to whom the tube belongs and what it contains.

It’s a thin plastic, which is fantastic news for me because due to the curve of Hush’s handle being slightly over the tube’s diameter, I’ll need to cut a notch in the top. Rather than purchase a Neo emblem decal from RT, (one of the babes got me one last year and I know how big they are) I think I’m just gonna draw it in on the bottom of the tube. The paper labels are going to be taped down better or replaced entirely, the contents one with cardstock and the name label potentially with her name written nicely on the tube itself. I have a couple of stickers that I may put onto the tube for decoration, because painting the whole thing is definitely gonna lead to chipping, so the alternative is to leave it gray and just paint over the red bands with pink.

My iphone 4s has had it. Of course this had to happen after my mom got Christmas all squared away so I couldn’t ask for a replacement for Christmas.

I literally rely on my phone when I’m in public and its ability to run a few different apps, mostly for communication purposes. PayPal stopped working months ago. I have never been able to download Uber or lyft. Speak4Me hasn’t worked in awhile. My asl app isn’t updating anymore. Instagram no longer works, which is not great for a cosplayer, so that’s another facet of my life on hold until something gets fixed, but that’s less important than my communication apps not running anymore. I can still use Instagram from my desktop, it just requires some workaround.

My previous ko-fi goal was to replace my Neopolitan cosplay, which was one of four total-loss costumes after my family’s housefire two months ago. She’s… a little bit less of a priority just now. She’s been put on-hold. I can wait to replace her.
