can u believe that the later w.i.t.c.h. arcs just got rid of the heart of kandrakar, the ultimate symbol of the series, entirely so they could give the girls new ‘weapons’ that seemed to exist purely for merch marketing purposes

So, I have no idea if anyone is interested in this, but I just had to point out that as a person who grew up with the comics and only watched the cartoon at, like, 18, I really hate cartoon Cedric.
It's like someone saw one picture of comic Cedrics snake form and decided to build this weird ass predator villain around it. Comic Cedric is like the most physically pushover character ever. He's basically screwed as soon as he directly faces anyone.
In Issue 6, he goes to face the rebels in his bookshop, is immediately taken hostage and almost executed, Will frees him, he grabs that sword thing, has no idea what to do with it and gets pushed down again. And that apparently damaged him hard enough Elyon had to teletransport him of!
In Issue 8, he gets bullied by a fucking dormouse biting his tail at the Karmilla concert, and later struggles to throw Will of his back while in his winged form.
In his shrimp form during the final battle, he is somewhat more competent, but still looks clumsy af. Which is pretty much his whole thing. I don't think he's weak - snakes are pretty much all muscle by default. He's just got neither the confidence nor the body control to make any use of that, at least that's my interpretation.
Also, in the cartoon there's this whole weird...I dunno if vore's the right word, but this thing about him eating people and shit, plus that weird feeding scene where Phobos tells him to eat and he just rips into some kind of turkey? While comic Cedric appeared more like the kind of person who'd eat chicken wings with cutlery.
And speaking of predator, why does cartoon Cedric sound overly sexual with everything he says? Like, the scene in I believe episode 12 where he and his men hunt Vathek and he says "I'll take the traitor" like he's hoping to get cast as the next porn pizza delivery guy?
That said, the one thing I truly prefer about cartoon Cedric is that he was used to his full potential. It might have been my neverdying crush on comic Cedric, but I never perceived him as a danger, more as a barely adult mess playacting as evil consort in between mental breakdowns. Cartoon Cedric is constantly and more or less successfully portrayed as a real danger to both the main and supporting cast and the citizens in general. In that regard, maybe making him a more straightforward menace was the right choice. I just wish they had taken the more challenging, but in my opinion more rewarding if done right, route of using his cunning, manipulative powers to their fullest. Maybe even combining that with him being more morally grey and/or too much of a pushover, so he tries evading direct confrontation or directly injuring people.
Okay, again, dunno if this made any sense whatsoever, I just wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone was interested in hearing it. I spend way too much time consuming w.i.t.c.h. and as such have way too many thoughts on it I'd like to share.
