“makoto fell fir—” WRONG!!!!!!! 😹 byakuya fell first AND harder! he became strangely infatuated with makoto during the killing game around chapter 3-4 i’d say and then those feelings gradually developed into a full fledged crush around their future foundation era !!!!!!! 😡

(although makoto Did fall for byakuya around the time of goodbye despair and was a bit more accepting of it!) (they confessed some time after the hope arc)

i find the dehumanization of makoto to be so fascinating especially when compared to the dehumanization of junko

bc they both get reduced to the ideal they represent (hope and despair) only that for junko it happens after her death, which is what happens to martyrs. she becomes this symbol of despair for which people like monaca and the remnants strive for, specifically after she dies. her death is what cements her as this symbol

but for makoto, it happens whilst he's alive. he has to deal with the weight of being a symbol of hope, the weight of a world that desperately needs healing from the tragedy. he has to do that! he isn't given junko's luxury of being dead. he's alive and has to deal with the pain it inflicts on his deteriorating mental state

This is a silly idea but i love this song and i rlly wanted to quickly make something with the scene where Byakuya defends Makoto when he is being accused of murder, by Kyoko and the rest of the survivors. I like the idea that he fantasises and sees Makoto as almost a stronger being (a god) and Makoto is taken aback by how much Byakuya really respects him and feels like he’s betrayed him when he is sent to his death ORRRR you could imagine Makoto actually killing someone in an AU lol

Anywyas i made this in the airport, was too lazy to cook with after effects so I used CapCut hopefully it’s still good lol
