## CLEO (클리오)

born cleo hong, with the korean name hong i-seul, cleo is the lead vocalist and face of the group of nct cherry. she is currently only part of units nct cherry and nct u (by default).

born in california, usa, on the 31st of january 2001 and age 21, she was born to her korean parents, and has an elder brother, joshua hong, member of seventeen. he is 6 years older than her, born in 1995.

in 2013, a few months after joshua began training, cleo also auditioned for pledis entertainment. after being rejected, the next year, when cleo came to korea to visit joshua along with her parents, she was scouted off of the street by an sm entertainment representative. while cautious at first, after being rejected by pledis, but scouted by sm, a much bigger company, cleo decided to accept the offer. 

after 2 years of training, cleo debuted in nct u with the title track the 7th sense and used to go by her korean name, iseul. she is one of 2 members who made their debut in nct u. when nct cherry debuted, cleo changed her stage name from iseul to cleo, because she felt it was a name that she was more used to using.

## SAYA (사야)

born saya itō, saya is the lead rapper and face of the group of nct cherry. currently, she is part of units nct cherry and nct u (by default).

born in washington dc, usa, on the 1st of january 2001 and currently 21 years old, saya grew up with a florist mother and office worker father, and her younger sister, sayo, who was born in 2010.

having an interest in rap, saya auditioned for sm entertainment after begging her parents once in 2013, through e-mail audition (she failed this one), and another time after she moved to korea in 2014 in the saturday audition. after passing, saya began to devote her life to music and she learnt how to play the piano purely for the purpose of composing her own songs.

in december of 2014, saya was officially announced as one of the members of sm rookies. she took part in the mickey mouse clubhouse as a mouseketeer along with the members of nct dream (jaemin, jeno, haechan, jisung & mark) and the other female sm rookies from july to december of 2015.

## NOEUL (노을)

born lee ye-jin, but going by a stage name, noeul is a sub vocalist and main dancer of nct cherry. she is only part of units nct cherry and nct u (by default).

born in incheon, south korea on the 19th of september 2000 and currently 21, noeul grew up with her receptionist mother and baker father with her younger brother, lee dae-hyun, born in 2007. 

she began training under sm entertainment in june of 2015, after moving from jyp entertainment, training there for 2 years (supposedly because she was not part of twice’s sixteen lineup). after joining sm, it was rumoured that noeul would join red velvet, but this fell through for unknown reasons.

the stage name noeul was given to her by lee soo-man. noeul herself expressed that she never wanted to go by the name yejin as an idol as it was a very common name, and so she was given the stage name noeul, meaning sunset.

## YEONJU (연주)

born jang yeon-ju, yeonju is the lead rapper, lead dancer & visual of nct cherry. she is only part of the units nct cherry and nct u (by default).

born in busan, south korea, on the 12th of august 1999, making her 22 years old, yeonju grew up in an middle class family with her office worker mother and father, along with her 3 other siblings; her twin brother, jang yeo-jun, and two elder sisters, jang a-ra (1997) and jang ju-hyun (1996).

she began training when she was 15 years old, in 2014. yeonju grew up in a family where her siblings were very academic and felt she didn’t fit in, having an interest in rap from a young age; she was a big fan of 2ne1 and f(x). she trained for 2 years before her debut with nct u in the seventh sense, and is one of 2 nct cherry members who debuted first in nct u. 

yeonju made her acting debut in 2019, playing the character yeo ju-da in extraordinary you — the second female lead. she continued to play secondary female leads, before she got her first lead role as shin ha-ri in business proposal (2022).

## EVIE (이비)

born evie chu, with the korean name chu sae-rom, evie is the main rapper and leader of nct cherry. she is only part of units nct cherry and nct u (by default).

born in vancouver, canada on the 17th of july 1998, making her 23 years old currently, evie grew up in an average family, with both her parents being nurses. she has one younger brother, known as ben chu, or chu ye-jun, who is two years younger than her.

after growing up with an interest in music and learning how to play the drums, evie moved to south korea in 2011, when she was 13, after passing sm’s saturday audition. she trained the longest out of the nct cherry members, training for 6 years.

evie backup danced for many sm groups, such as exo, shinee, red velvet, f(x) and girls generation from the years 2014 to 2016, and grew a small pre-debut fandom while doing this.

## DAISY (데이지)

born yong chu-ju, daisy is the oldest member (by 4 months), the main vocalist and a visual of nct cherry. currently, the only units she is a part of are nct cherry & nct u (by default). she is also part of sm super group, got the beat.

born in hong kong on the 2nd of march 1998, and currently 24, daisy grew up in an average to lower class family, and her mother was a chinese opera teacher. she has an elder brother who is a dentist born in 1996, called yong yi-cheng. they have a close relationship.

she moved to korea at the age of 18, in june of 2016. she passed the iconic sm saturday audition, (along with all the other members of nct cherry, which is why their drafted name used to be nct saturday), with her impressive chinese opera singing skills. she is one of the members with the shortest training periods in nct as whole, only training for a year before debut.

the stage name daisy originates from her birth name, chu-ju. the literal translation of chu-ju is daisy, and so the stage name was chosen, despite her english name being jennifer. the reason sm advised against using her birth name is because of pronunciation; the name chu-ju is not said how it is read. instead, the vocal pronunciation is like saying ‘chu-ji’, but is also slightly different, so it’s difficult to put the name into hangul.

daisy is the only member to have gone solo out of the nct girls so far, debuting solo in may of 2022 as part of the nct solo station project (like with mark’s child), and had the title track ‘first sight’ (originally by heize).
