I've never obsessed with the idea of a physical home. In an interview with @MajesticDisorder two years ago, I mentioned how the idea of 'home' is more of a feeling or emotion, than a physical space outside of me, and it moves along. While the last decade of my career has been filled with pace and movement, I've never not visited India for this long a period. This pandemic was a much needed pause that set me apart from homeland with series of unplanned events, which so far I've managed to channel positively to my inner growth and much needed self-discovery - an eternal work-in-progress template, unlike what Hollywood suggests. Being far away in the tropics of Bali, the one place in my heart the most is the mystic, majestic Himalayas, which I think is one of the most charged, magical, wild space that's unapologetically unexpected, diverse, and not yet Mcdonald-ised by globalisation. Home to some of the kindest tribes, mythologies and unicorn-stories, I've yet to learn so much about myself and this space. Why Bali is still my little slice of heaven. A magical sunrise memory from my private villa, this time around the rice fields of Ubud at @jannataresort where sounds of birds wake you up in deep nature. Ubud is an experience of a totally different level of vibration and nature - although hard to describe, but Bali really is a natural wonderland of all landscapes hidden and way beyond any travel guide could ever encapsulate. You keep discovering new, wonderful ways of nature sitting together with rituals practised by Balinese people and empower mother nature with so much magic. While being so busy, Indonesia offers way more than any other country in terms of it's diversity of nature, the finest colours of green and conscious luxury that's well thought out, with pure value and relevance. Bali for me, comes amongst my favourite five places in the world so far - it's yet another place where if you travel right, you might come home as a new, better person. We're expanding. Last few two months have been both rushed and calm at the same time. I've been giving a break to the insta-game and working really hard on expanding my work beyond India. Proud to announce that the studio has a new collaborative base in South East Asia in Manggu, Bali and we're working with some of the greatest creatives in Indonesia, shooting campaigns in magical spaces across Cambodia, with socially driven brands from across 8 nations in the world. So much work was scrapped, and created again in the months (and a lot to do) but it's simply dreamy to turn your nights to fire and make magic happen. Hey love, you doing ok? I know the new year started strong, cold and a bit angry. From the way it looks, it does feel like the world is crumbling, but I know it's just a phase. I've spent the past one week sick in bed, as an empath, things get harder than they already are - but don't let things drown you. Life is good and the chase that sun if it's cloudy and if you're losing light. Mental health is indispensable - fighting for the right is must, but don't feel guilty to take a break off from the world, cancel plans, process, and restore. Just out of the airport and boarding another in 5 hours. Thinking if it's the busiest month of my entire life. Photography has been such a powerful tool of expression in my creative and spiritual journey. I started working as a journalist covering intense stories of war in Kashmir in 2012, and daily life of transgender prostitutes in Poona. Things eventually took its own turns - and as I started to photograph myself, I was no longer a spectator, but also the subject, my own subject. I started to see things about myself with a different perspective - a deeply therapeutic yet intimidating practise that enabled me to learn how I fit in this big, wide world of wonders.
