“Some days your emotion could be just right at the surface and you surprise yourself, and I’m like, ‘Whoa, where did that come from?’ I find it quite cathartic in the sense that I get to release so much through her throughout the day.” — JODIE COMER.
“The idea of trying to let go of the end result is something I really try to focus on. When I have fear, I have one mantra and one feeling that I try to focus on, which is, ‘I know how to be present.’ It’s a reminder that you already know to do it and you can do it.“ — SANDRA OH.
Eve and villanelle will change color throughout s3 until their respective color become the same
The reason Villanelle manipulates Eve into killing Raymond is because she felt like that was the last barrier, the last thing standing in the way of Eve truly being with her.
Eve is torn between her feelings for Villanelle because V is a killer and she isn’t. Eve has thought about it (the man at the train station/how she would kill Niko) Eve has always been capable of killing, but she’s always held herself back. In a way she was holding herself back from being with Villanelle as well.
You can see the way Villanelle smiles after she gets Eve to kill Raymond. She’s happy. She thinks “there, that’s it! We can be together now!” Eve became a killer like her. Eve killed FOR her. Villanelle has killed FOR her. It’s what they both wanted at the end of the day. Eve just didn’t want to be manipulated into doing it. Villanelle rushed Eve into it and Eve put her foot down.
Villanelle is so proud of Eve. She finally let herself go and killed someone.
I do wholeheartedly believe Villanelle loves Eve, but she just doesn’t know how to. I don’t think her confusion between love and possession are malicious at all. She’s a psychopath who’s found someone who is her perfect match. The small glimpses of empathy and passion she sees and hides within herself are reflected within Eve. Villanelle is capable of empathy. It’s just been years since she’s used it for anything other than manipulating people. The same goes for Eve. She sees those small glimpses of her darker self reflected in Villanelle and it’s attractive to both of them.
Eve was definitely about to run away with Villanelle, but she was still in shock. When she snapped out of it after figuring out V tricked her, she immediately changed her mind. She needed to process and that wouldn’t happen being on the run with Villanelle. Eve detesting V’s Love and her feelings for V was cold in my opinion since she’s been struggling with coming to terms the whole season. She had emotional sex with V and didn’t even feel any kind of bad about using Hugo.
Villanelle shooting Eve was like her telling Eve I do care about you. I do love you and you’ll figure it out. It seems like Villanelle believes they were already in this kind of relationship like a couple and these stabbings and shootings are just lovers quarrels. I can’t really blame her since she hasn’t really had that guidance. She hasn’t had anyone to show her how to feel or love. The 12 and Konstantine preyed on her Psychopathic tendencies (she was a willing participant).
Season 3 I’m hopeful they’ll work it out and be closer. I think they’re going to meet somewhere in the middle. Eve has gained some darkness and Villanelle has gained some light.
