Being under the dark about their enemy’s identity. Michiru was concerned for her safety and the Starlights. Her thought did cross about Sailor Chaos. A powerful and dangerous foe they have dealt with in the past.  But without proof, she dare not suggest that it could be her, as that would only put the parties in worrying shoes. “Agree…” Michiru replies as Taiki suggested. “With the enemies having the upper hand, we will watch each other back.” Pointing to their communicator watch. “I suggest we keep in touch with one another with our communicator and not let each other out of our sight…” Seeing how the enemies tend to target her when she is alone. Michiru can only assume that would be the enemy’s tactic. “It safe to be in numbers than to be alone…”

"Agreed. I have no issue sticking close for the time being as an extra set of eyes for trouble. We could all take shifts and stick close as well. Keeping our ranks tight should help us keep from being blindsided again."

Taiki wanted to figure it all out before more harm could come to pass upon any of them. The fact they had a grudge against Michiru only had her annoyed. Perhaps the enemy felt disgruntled or something of the sort and wanted to take out such a powerful senshi. Enemies were fickle and the starlight understood that aspect well.

Leaning back in her seat, she glanced to her sisters. "We'll get it sorted, and we'll get this out of the way whenever the enemy makes a mistake."

Rei’s cheeks dusted with a slight color of pink, as Taiki whisper ‘love’ into her ears. She was such a cheeky thing who could get away with anything. Something that annoys her and yet loves her at the same time. Unable to respond. She bashfully thanked her and wished her goodnight once more.

Returning to her room to sleep. She couldn’t catch a single wink of sleep, as her thoughts revolve around her guilt. She felt awful for behaving so coldly towards Taiki. She didn’t deserve that kind of treatment. Some of the Inner Senshi have spoken their thoughts about it as well. Coming from a good place. It concerns them when Rei tends to close her heart to the people around her. Sighing. The Miko noted to herself to reflect on it. Reminding herself to be kinder to Taiki tomorrow.

As dawn arrived, she slept in and skipped her Miko duty for a day, as she returned late last night. To her surprise, she was greeted by her family members, her father, and grandfather. Both men were waiting for her patiently in the living room.  “Good morning, Father…” Bowing her head to greet him. Noticing her grandfather wasn’t too please by her father’s presence. After a short moment of silence between the family members, her father cleared his throat to break the ice.

Preparing breakfast. Rei’s thoughts seem to be lost in space as her memories recall the discussion with her family.

Start Flashback 

Once her father spoke, her grandfather slams his fist hard on the tatami mat while she was in disbelief. “Takashi! Are you insane? She’s only 18!” “Father, please calm down.” The Miko’s father spoke. “Rei is in a marrying age, in 2 years. The man I have picked for her is a good match.” His hand press against the hardcover. That contains a picture of Rei’s suitor. While ignoring his father’s angry glare, he pushed it over to his daughter and father. “I refused! Besides, doesn’t your daughter have a saying in this?” As the elderly turn to his granddaughter. “Father, you must have already known. How I’m not too keen on the topic of marriage?” Her words didn’t need an explanation and the family knew the story too well. A story about how her father has been so neglectful to his partner. Causing his wife’s death. Creating a rift between the father and daughter. Turning away. “I will admit. I was never a good role model. But this man, who wishes for your hand in marriage, is quite fond of you. I hope you give this man some thoughts and consideration…." 

End Flashback

The starlight had awoken that next morning to hear other people in the home. She did not intrude and instead kept withdrawn for a time. Deciding to step out, she walked the shrine to stretch out her legs and to properly awaken. Somethings played out in her mind from the last evening and she could not fault Rei for being withdrawn from her a bit. She understood the history and didn't push too hard. Patience was a better course of action, that was until she noted a different vehicle nearby the shrine.

One that was recognizable to those higher up. The thought of Rei's father made Taiki's blood grow a bit colder. She returned to the shrine after the discussions had taken place only to keep her tongue in check as she noted Rei's father was indeed present. The woman decided to move through after giving a good morning to Rei's grandfather. Her manners for him would always remain.

Passing the men, she moved on to the kitchen to prepare some tea for herself having done so before. Spotting Rei, Taiki cleared her throat to make certain she didn't just startle the miko from whatever thoughts were going through her head.

"Everything all right?"

Something was changing in the air. Tension was an obvious thing she had sensed since returning from her morning walk.

Being complimented by Taiki’s words. Makes Rei’s cheeks turn slightly pink. Tugging her raven color hair behind her ear. Regaining her composure as she spoke. “You’re too kind.” Taiki tends to come over to the shrine despite her busy schedule. Finding an excuse to look for her and to spend time with her. Her presence makes her a little happier. The Miko felt so relaxed in her presence. That she could be herself around her so easily. Even her grandfather has grown fond of Taiki for being so helpful around the shrine.

“You’re too much at times…” As her finger intertwines with the brunette. “But I do appreciate your thoughts behind it.“ She chuckles as she shook her head. It was almost impossible to say ‘No’ to her. Especially how much effort Taiki has planned for her birthday. Erasing the bitten memories spend on her Birthday with her father. “Alright! I’ll let you spoil me as much as you want…” Rei smiles towards her.

Enjoying the dinner with Taiki. Everything was perfect from the food to the music while having a pleasant conversation with one another. She hasn’t talked this much before and rarely with anyone. Not even with the Inner Senshi. Making her grow so fondly towards the other. 

"You've taught me to be more kind over our time together." Taiki murmured without hesitation.

It was true. When she had first arrived around on Earth, she had been so closed off to other people. As a Starlight, her focus had been on her team and her princess for so long but when the other senshi got involved, things started to shift. Her horizons opened up and she realized she didn't need to keep people at an arm's length away from her to stay safe. It was ok to allow emotions to be freely dispensed.

The starlight was one to pay attention to details and to learn from everything around her. Enjoying their conversations, she couldn't help but laugh at times before making sure to pay for everything. She was happy and smiling and showing the true zest of her spirit all while unknowing darkness slipped through the cracks to invade the thoughtful evening.

Lights began to flicker without warning, and soon after a few light bulbs exploded. Feeling the shattering glass, Taiki shifted to keep Rei from getting too cut up from more as more blew above them. Her instincts kicked into high gear as she sought out whatever was shifting in the new darkness.

Gonna be a bit quiet yet on this blog as well. Two days ago, I had five teeth removed from the surgeon I had visited with a month prior. My dentist and I came up with a battle plan on which ones to lose and which ones to keep so I’m not too badly off. I’m healing rather well and am taking it easy. I only really hurt from where a wisdom tooth on the upper jaw was still under the gumline. There is bruising and soreness at the roof of my mouth by that spot but otherwise I don’t feel intense pains.

I’m taking the medications recommended by my surgeon as well and am on the road to recovery. I’ll try to get to threads and what not when I feel up to it. Sorry for the silence for those not aware of other blogs I have that I’ve been kind of lurking on lately.

Rei took a moment to clear her head as Taiki took a shower. She knew how cold she was behaving. Something the inner Senshi tends to point out to her. The raven knows but is unsure how to overcome it. The Miko wasn’t sure how she should behave or react. There isn’t like an on and off switch, she could flip on to behave warmly, as she always does. Sighing as she prepares Taiki’s bed. She only hopes Taiki is a little more forgiving towards her for now.

Hearing Taiki at the door. She forces a smile on her face. Behaving that she was alright under her facade smile. “Did you have a good shower?” Greeting Taiki as she walks up towards her before noticing how late it was. “You should get some sleep. It’s getting late…” She spoke as she slightly yawns herself. “I’ll be honest. I am a little tired too.”  As Rei looks up to Taiki. “Goodnight, Taiki…”  She forces another smile before turning her heels to the hallway.

The starlight watched her step close before hearing her words. It was growing late and she would not keep her awake if Rei desired rest.

"It was an all right shower and you are right. It is getting late. You should get as much rest as you wish. I won't keep you."

Noticing the yawn, Taiki did not push the point. She kept still in her place merely watching the woman. Her eyes held no annoyance toward how Rei had been with her but more of understanding. Hearing the goodnight from her, the starlight made a move to lean in toward her a bit.

"Goodnight, Rei. I love you."

Taiki stepped back and approached further into the guest room after she had spoken her piece for the night. While it had grown later, she was unable to find sleep too easily and remained awake for a few more hours.

Feeling a touch on her hand. She looks up to see it belong to Taiki, which brings warmth and comfort to her heart, as their hand claps over hers. Smiling. She lets her finger intertwine with their’s before returning her attention to the discussion. Seiya crossed her arm and shook her head. “None of them should be here. Most of them should be dead.” Especially those who bring chaos to a peaceful planet. The Sailor Senshi have dealt with them in the past and the galaxy should be at peace, for now. “We did find something.” As Yaten slide the screen, she began to play a short clip. Just a few seconds. It showed a blurry figure running down the hallway, in a hurry. Escaping through the door that leads to the staging lights. “The quality is extremely terrible and we can’t make out. Who or what it is?” Picking up the tablet while studying the blurry clips. Michiru smiles and suggested. “Leave that to me. With Luna and Artemis assistance, they might give us a clearer quality of this footage.”

"The key word there is should. We also know by now not everything is as it seems." Taiki murmured before growing quiet once more to listen to everyone else.

Her eyes took look over the clip as Michiru took hold of the tablet to get a better view. The suggestion to have Luna and Artemis give a hand was a wise one. Luna was quite the asset for such things. Artemis as well with both of them together as a team.

"They may be able to get it into a better stance. In the mean time, we'll just have to keep our guards up."

The starlight was already preparing mentally for such things just to keep an eye out for them all. Having been with Michiru from the start of the whole ordeal, she wanted to help get them out of it safely too. Patience would have to win out however as her attention shifted to finishing up her cold tea.

"We'll just have to close ranks and watch one another's backs just in case this being is found out. Their attention could be swayed to any of us if they realize they are being sniffed out."

Catching a glimpse of Taiki’s face. Wearing the red dress that the idol has brought for her birthday. Rei just smiles. It was funny but she couldn’t resist throwing that remark at her. Was that what Minako call flirting? As her cheeks dusted with scarlet, she tries to maintain her composure. They have started dating for several months and dating an idol wasn’t easy. The brunette face is practically plastered on every media out there and it was hard to miss her in a crowd. 

Being uncomfortable. They agree not to announce their relationship to the public. Keeping it under wraps. As Rei was still working hard on finding the confidence to be in the relationship and being Taiki’s lover. Being a person with a short fuse and patient to shallow people. She can’t possibly deal with the paparazzi and foolish people. Plus, it would be a nightmare if their dearest friend were to find out. Minako will NEVER leave her alone. 

Sigh. It amazes her. How Michiru and Haruka manage it? 

Arriving at the restaurant and stepping out of the car. She was a little taken back at how fancy it was. There was even a jockey to welcome them. “You didn’t have to splurge this much on me?” Hand in hand with Taiki as they walk to the door. “A simple gift would have been sufficient…” But she was deeply grateful for all Taiki’s gift. The Miko just needs her to tone it down a little. “Accepting anything this luxurious is a little too much for me…” She spoke. As they were welcome by a Captain who led them to their table. “You’re spoiling me too much…”

"You deserve to be spoiled a little now and again." Taiki replied only to relax at Rei's side. They had ironed out the specifics of what was desired with their relationship. The starlight had kept Rei's privacy intact and kept everything out of the public eye as far as they were concerned. While the world thought she was still single, she was very much a happy woman as the miko's lady.

Settling down at their table, Taiki allowed herself to smile a bit more. There they could be themselves and not worry about flashing cameras to disturb them. It was another reason she had settled on the establishment for Rei's birthday dinner.

"I just enjoy our time together and I also want to treat you now and then. You do so much for other people. I've seen how exhausted you can get doing what you do at the shrine. I promise I can turn the dial down on how wild this can be for the next time. Just let me pamper you for one night?"

I’m gonna have to invest in a new laptop while this one continues to be in a state of limbo. It’s still messing up badly with the screen and I am not able to qualify for a replacement. It’s such bs I swear, but I can hold them accountable to get it in working order with the warranty I have attached to it.

So, I will likely be biting the proverbial bullet in looking for a new laptop and if Dell gets this one in working fashion, I will have a functioning backup system. I’m tired of waiting around and getting screwed and wasting my time.

I may end up stuck via mobile once again as I have been the last few weeks at some point in the near future. We will see. I am going to also take my time to really make the right choice in another laptop as well so I don’t rush into another giant mistake.

I got my laptop back after the second set of repairs were done to it. I’m hoping that is all it took to get it to where it needs to be.

My laptop is going back one more time to have another motherboard put in along with another component. If that does not work and it starts acting up when I get it back this go round, I will be pushing to get a replacement computer, which the tech I spoke with agreed to.

Luckily, I was able to get video of the screen doing the weird things again late last night and had it on my system for the tech to notice during a remote session to troubleshoot issues.

Rei bit her lips. Taiki was too kind and was being patient with her. Her emotion seems to be scattered when her fa-the man is brought up. She felt extremely bad for letting the anger take over and taking it out on Taiki. Trying to smile. “It’s fine and thank you for coming.” Wishing she was in a better mood to welcome the brunette properly. “I don’t mind doing it.” The Miko reassures her. 

Walking to her cupboard. Pulling out some towels and toiletries for her guest. “I remember you left some clothes here too, didn’t you?” As the idol tend to stay over at the temple to hide away from the public’s eye. Kneeling down beside Taiki, again. She places the idol’s clothes, toiletries, and towel down next to her. “Go ahead and take a shower. While I prepare the room for you…” Before getting up again, walking to the next room to prepare a futon for the idol. 

"I believe I did. I usually do leave somethings behind since you know I come back around so frequently." she murmured softly. She remained quiet watching Rei move off before rising to her own feet.

The shower helped to ease some tension in her body but unfortunately had some other things rise up. Worry for the woman she loved, as well as wondering what she could do to help provide some form of comfort came back to the forefront of her mind. Taiki decided to let it be after getting changed into the fresh clothes. Things could be discussed later on when Rei felt like she wanted to talk on them. Long ago the starlight had learned not to prod the fire too much out of respect of the miko's feelings.

Finding Rei after getting cleaned up, the woman managed a softer smile toward her. She was thankful for the care she had shown even with their arguments. "Thank you, Rei."

For those unaware, my old laptop died on me a few days ago. The hard drive failed badly. I was waiting on a replacement and it arrived today a day earlier than expected.

Unfortunately, it looks like the icons I did use were not saved to a flash drive but I know where I can resave them from. I don’t often use icons too much so it doesn’t bother me too badly.

Serving Taiki some tea. Rei kneels down next to her. Tucking her raven hair. She smiles and listens. Holding up a smile, an emotion that is the opposite of what her heart is. “Thank you for coming.” Thanking her. “You should have called…” But her tone of voice suddenly changes when her-the man was brought up. “Taiki! Please do not bring him up. I do not wish to talk about him…” The Miko stiff emotion surface. 

Getting up. She picks up the tray. Turning her back as she steps back to her room. She holds herself back and regains her composure. “Taiki, I’m sorry. It’s late. You should head home…” She has no ounce of emotion to express to her lover. “You must be tired from work too?” Reminding herself not to be selfish and heart cold towards her. Or she might hate her. “Or maybe? Do you wish to stay over for the night? I can prepare the guest room for you…” It was getting late and making Taiki drive back at this late hour, would beheartless. 

The woman was not at all shocked at the change in tone but kept where she was seated as Rei snapped. She watched her move and waited for a time until she returned to apologize in her own way. The starlight finished her tea easily and didn't make a move to be angry or annoyed at such things. She understood it well.

"It's all right. I should have called as you said but I wanted to surprise you for the evening. I wouldn't mind staying if it's not too much trouble. I can set up the room so you can rest."

Taiki would not argue for the evening or fight if she could help it knowing it was hard already on the woman she loved. She had gotten her a few things which would wait for later as simple gifts. Things with meaning behind them.

Wearing the same color dress every year, white. She was escorted by her father’s security details to the Temple ground. Today was her birthday. The day she dreaded to celebrate. It was the only one time of year she was able to meet her father, face to face, and not from the media outlet. Having the most basic conversation about each other life. Only touching the surface and nothing more. She was gifted a gift without an ounce of meaning or dedication behind it. Lazy. The man would ask his attendant to buy her gift written in his name. A man, a father who has no idea about his daughter’s preference.

Walking up the stairs. She tries to hide the tears and pain. Rei couldn’t let her grandfather see the state she was. Knowing it would result between father and son arguing their head off. It would be bad for her grandfather’s heart. Reaching up the last steps. The Miko was surprised to be greeted by Taiki. Pulling the raven into her arms, before she could protest. The Miko was greeted with a kiss. Sweeping her off her feet. Causing the Miko to be lost for words. “T-Taiki! W-What are-?” And lost the sense to form a proper sentence. But, hearing the brunette kind words. She broke down crying in the idol’s arm.

Hanging out on the terrace with the idol, outside her room. Rei change into something more comfortable to wear. Calming down. She finally spoke. “Why are you here?”

The starlight did her best to help comfort Rei  through her tear away from where her grandfather could hear them. She understood how her partner felt about upsetting him and respected that fact. Taiki helped to settle the tears and took the time to merely stay around the temple grounds to make sure everything would settle and Rei would be all right.

Leaning against the fencing of the terrace, Taiki waited for Rei to get more comfortable and relaxed herself. She had known the date and knew from Grandfather Hino the stories. He had not been shy in talking with her on certain subjects as she was always truthful with the elder. In a way, Taiki was thankful to have someone as an elder figure again even if she couldn't be fully truthful about her true nature just yet.

Hearing the Miko, she stepped over to her.

"It's your birthday and I wanted to wish you a happy one in person. I heard from your grandfather how things go from the past birthdays and wanted to be here to support you. Isn't that what a girlfriend is supposed to do?"

Things had been building for quite sometime between them and Taiki was not blind to it. In fact, she had enjoyed the dancing with Michiru through all aspects of their developing relationship to whatever it was. It was strong between them however as it came unraveled with time away from prying eyes and annoying people.

Kisses had been exchanged with doors securely locked for no one to disturb them. Hands wandered and soon Taiki was left making soft moans at Michiru’s ear as the violinist’s fingers found their target. Stroking the right chords, the starlight was putty in the senshi’s hands.

They had been taking in some time together away from the rush of other people. Tucked away out of the soft falling rain, Taiki realized her words were falling on tired ears as she felt Rei slip against her a bit more.

She glanced down to notice the woman had dozed off with much needed rest. Adjusting her hands, the starlight gently brushed the hair out of her love’s face and smiled gently. They were safe away from people pestering them and Taiki merely took the time to let her love rest properly against her feeling content.
