Operation Hammond will be at Watch City Steampunk Festival in Waltham, MA on Saturday, May 11th, 2024. This will be our 8th year providing first aid services at this fun event, and we're all looking forward to it!

On March 27th, 2019, Operation Hammond’s founder, James “Fedora” Mandeville, passed away unexpectedly. Five years later, that loss is still felt deeply, both by those of us in O.H. and the convention community as a whole.
Fedora’s legacy lives on in our continued work and commitment to the communities we serve. It lives on in every person Operation Hammond has helped, and the countless individuals inspired by the words, “The best thing you can do in life is help someone”.

Operation Hammond is proud to introduce Pete Davekos as our new Director of Logistics. He will be taking this position over from Keith Lee, who is stepping into new roles as Director of Information Systems and Radio Master.

November 13th-19th is Transgender Awareness Week, followed by Transgender Day of Remembrance on the 20th. The purpose of this week is to raise visibility of transgender and gender non-conforming individuals & the issues they face. It is a time to honor and celebrate them, while reflecting on the discrimination and violence they still face.
Operation Hammond is and always has been a LGBTQIA+ friendly organization. To all our trans friends and family: our doors are always open if you need help.

22 years ago today, countless first responders made the ultimate sacrifice. On 9/11/2001, public, private, and volunteer agencies all came together in the ultimate time of need and saved well over 25,000 lives. We will never forget the tragic events of that day, or the bravery of those who risked, and in many cases, lost their lives to save others.
