Rolan WIP

So, I wanted to try writing a really smutty sex scene with no actual sex or nudity in it. Aaaand I've been wanting to take a stab at writing Rolan. So it was a match made in heaven. 👌

SFW (for now) - WIP below

Tav felt a movement on her leg and shivered.

She looked down to see his tail curled gently but almost insistently around her leg just above her knee. Rolan followed her gaze and his eyes widened with shock at the impudence and betrayal of his own tail. Before he could utter out the immediate string of curses and apologies that flew into his head, in that split second of fear that gripped him, Tav moved quicker than his words could form and he froze.

She raised her hand from her thigh and gently placed it on the thick exposed section of tail that lay atop her leg. All thoughts fled from Rolans head as a hiss and a full body shudder rolled through him at her whisper light touch.

The shiver extended all the way through to his tail and Tav immediately raised her hand off it as if she had been shocked, eyes darting up to meet his.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. I should've asked first-"

She started as he spoke at the same time.

"Tav, I am very sorry, that damn tail, I -" he paused, her words finally reaching his muddled brain. "Ask?" The word almost caught in his throat as he choked it out. He caught her eyes fluttering down to the offending tail, still around her leg, then back up to his meet his eyes with a blush. A blush? What did she have to blush about? It was his tail that got him into this predicament.

"Yes, sorry. I'm so sorry Rolan, I've heard tails can be sensitive...I should've asked first...it was just ...it was right there." She gave a nervous chuckle and glanced away a moment. Wonderful, now I've done and mucked everything up, Rolan thought. He cleared his throat, trying to still the building throbbing in his chest and regain his usual demeanor.

"No. I mean, yes, you should have." He said bruskly. Her eyes flickered away again and he quickly added. "They...uh... can be sensitive in some areas, yes." He swallowed thickly, suddenly quite unsure of what to say next. Tav met his eyes for a brief moment then looked back down. Rolan followed her gaze, already knowing full well what he would find and saw his damned tail, somehow wrapped, so it seemed, even tighter around her leg. He cleared his throat again but made no attempt to move it.

"So can I?" Tav spoke, pulling his attention back to her face. It was tilted down but her eyes peered up at him in what seemed to be a deliberately maddening look.

"Can you....?" He hesitated, he was sure she couldn't be asking what he thought she was asking.

"Can I touch your tail?" She finished boldly. Rolan eyed her a moment, and swallowed away the excess saliva rapidly building in his mouth, his brain swirling with a million thoughts and his hands starting to tremble. He crossed his arms and tried to seem nonchalant about the entire situation and realized he was failing miserably.

"Sure. Yes. You may." He uttered, hoping his voice didn't waiver.

Tav reached back out, hand tentative but confident and placed her palm again on the flesh of his tail where it rested on her leg.

An interesting question, lovely anon!!

One of my silly, cracklike hcs is that Gale is practicing to be an Ancient Mage of Awesome Power like Elminster (or Gandalf, Dumbledore, Merlin, etc. etc.), and he's starting to grow out his hair and beard--and practicing his bad jokes, ominous/portentous statements, and nuggets of wisdom--so they're nice and long by the time he greys out and is ready to be recognized as such.

More seriously, I think he might let his hair and beard start growing a little more but still make sure they're well-kept and in good shape! I'd imagine Tara would be quite resigned to the facial hair being permanent. Some of that might depend on Tav and what they like, but I imagine either way one of their little rituals is Tav brushing out his hair in the morning or just before bed and maybe on occasion helping him with his beard oil. They don't do it all the time because that can derail the morning routine ;)))
