*Spoilers?* Being a huge Starkid fan I decided to download the Quibi app and watch Royalties. Got to support the Lang Bros and company. Personally, I enjoyed the show being it was a romcom type show with funny original song kinda like Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Getting to see a bunch of Starkids, a couple of glee folks, and other kinda big name celebrities was definitely a plus. However, I do want to apologise calling the idea of Quibi dumb, since TikTok has completely ruined my attention span the short < 10 min videos were super easy to watch. Sometimes it feel like there should be more story plot in the episodes but I probably get the same amount of story when watching a 26 min show because I'm on my phone for most of it. I still wish it was free like YouTube (but even the quality of programming on YouTube similar to what Quibi is putting out YouTube makes you pay for so, I think idk of YouTube red is still a thing...), but they got to pay those celebs somehow. I might give some of the other shows a chance if the peak my interest. However, I do want a second season of Royalties so go give it a shot, it only like a little over an hour for the whole 10 episodes. Sorry for the long rant...

Watch Upload

After watching Upload all day, I have to say I absolutely enjoyed it.  I would definitely recommend it if you’re of the 16+ age. Its a fun romantic dramedy with a mystery and likable characters. Also, the main couple in the show is so cute, just for them I recommend a watch if you have an Amazon Prime account. Bonus, I heard it already got a season 2 renewal so you at least have some stability going in. Please watch though.

Enemies to Lovers Trope

Day 4! Hope everyone is doing well and I thought today I would do a variation on the first trope I did, enemies to friends to lovers. For this list, at least one person had to dislike the other in the beginning and it turns to romance. There also can’t be a point where their relationship was just friend.  There are so many couple I want to do for this list so I will probably do a part 2 for this trope. So in some particular order here are 5 &½ couple that are enemies to lovers.

1a. Elizabeth and Darcy (Pride and Prejudice)

What can you say except Jane Austin may of not created this trope, but she definitely perfected it with this couple. I definitely recommend watching the mini series if you have the time to spare (or reading the book), but the movie is great too. Even the zombie one is good for a few laughs.

Top 5 Anime Openings

This doesn’t really fit on my other blog, so I decided to put it here and see if anyone sees it. I’ve been watching a lot of anime lately and realized they just have some bops for openers. So here is my top 5 list with a little reasoning and 2 bonuses as well. Enjoy!

1. Cowboy Bebop

If you can find a better opening to a show please tell me. This opening get you excited to watch while fitting the theme perfectly. The jazz omg, with the spy movie visuals. 3,2,1 lets jam.

2. Beastars

I Know the anime can be polarizing among viewers but I do think it is one of the best I have seen in years. The opener though has to be a bop for everyone, the stop motion felt like animation with all that symbolism *chefs kiss*. Plus it also has a jazzy feel to it which makes the Netflix skip intro button obsolete.

3. Steins;Gate

Such a great anime had to have an amazing opener and it delivers. The fast pass rock song with the visuals that represent the show and its character. without feeling out of place. The op already goes hard but after “hacking to the gate”, it some how goes harder.

4. Paradise Kiss

This is my favorite romance anime and if you have seen you know why. The visualize are beautiful and the story is deep and meaningful which is something you don’t see a lot in romance anime. I think the opening perfectly fit the show integrating clips and backgrounds that show of the stylistic choices of the anime.  While the song fit the young demographic the show was reaching. If you have never seen the anime, I think you can find it floating around YouTube somewhere. (PS the ending is a flipping Franz Ferdinand song so if that doesn’t convince you nothing else will.)

5. XXXHolic

I haven’t seen the show in about 5 years, so I don’t know if it still holds up. That being said, I loved it when I watched it and I think the opening is the type that tells you the general feel of the show not what the show is (If that makes sense). Plus the song is a bop, it fit the feel of the show and the opening. I definitely feel like I am going to re-watch this one very soon.

Bonus 1: Un Go

The reason why it is a bonus is because it is an ending not an opening. I usually don’t like ending and skip through them but this one I always watched. I personally think it is much better than the opening and feels more like one too. If you have not seen the show please go watch it, i am pretty sure it is also floating around YouTube as well.
