[It's a video! A very chaotic one. There seem to be several battles raging at once, and it's hard to pick out what action's directed where, especially among the sounds of roars and growls, snapping branches, blasts of energy, clashes of blades, and a crackling fire a little too close for comfort. After a few moments of swiveling around, there's Cross's timid, electric voice.
"i-i thought this would be the simplest way to show what's going on, pzzt. s-so, i'm just going to... go around... a-and not get hit with a dragon pulse... please..."
In the center of the frame, there's Reshiram, trying to attack a certain frog boy as he scrambles to put out fires, a large, squishy Solosis behind him assisting by shaking out a Rain Dance. It's mostly evaporated by the dragon's superheated tail and flames, though. As Terrakion and Cobalion search for an opening, they dance between each other, sharpening their swords, before Cobalion launches in for a Close Combat. The dragon swivels to the attack quickly, countering with a close-range Fusion Flare that leaves the legendary staggering away from the fight. That leaves one Sword standing in the battle, as Wolfgang attempts to duplicate Terrakion's figure while glancing constantly to Vanilla and Amadeus's location.
Turning swiftly instead to the two foxpeople off to the side, Cross gets close enough to catch the dialogue between the two of them as the two disappear and reappear in a mad attempt to be the first to land a blow, Vision with Dark Pulse and Vanilla with her blade's Night Slash.
"If you really wanted to win, you should've gone back to your own world! You already ruined that one, didn't you?! Why not make Colress try his stupid experiment there, if you're so in control?"
"As a leader, I trust my advisors. And Colress said that testing power like this requires an actual fight, not just crushing the world under out feet. Not that you're much competition..."
Following her opponent's voice, Vision launches a Dark Pulse that glances off Vanilla's shoulder. His illusion fades momentarily.
"Nngh. If you want to change the world, change yours! Who cares about tests?! Isn't what you wanted to win?! What point does it have to destroy Lostlorn? To destroy our pack's home all over again?!"
The words take Vision aback, and as she reaches to touch the red-white fur collar on her robes, Vanilla connects with a Night Slash to her arm, cutting loose some fabric.
"Lostlorn... That's not... That's not a problem! We'll finish this test and change my world while we're at it, too! This is just our warm-up! But I guess I ought to set my advisor in line..."
As the two continue fighting, Vision more clearly distracted, Cross finally zips to Colress's location. He's rapidly losing ground as his team pushes back against Chiru, Ringogo, and Dolly of Vanilla's team, especially with Dolly knocking aside Colress's Magnezone with a single Hammer Arm. Still, he keeps his Beheeyem close to him, as if surely Teleport will start working any minute now. And that small Zoroark's illusions will wear off any minute, freeing up his Necrozma. Not that he could attack actively anyways--that would ruin the experiment! No, he's just here to protect his experiment's integrity. Though he tries not to appear nervous, it's quite clear from the way his one functioning arm fidgets that he's on the lookout for a certain somebody about to take him down.
Finally, Cross recenters on the Reshiram, who appears to be turning in response to some inaudible shouted direction of Vision's.
"u-um... i can't film the evacuation, but that's going well too!! a-and there's some strong water types fighting the flames... ...y-yeah!"]

{ LOSTLORN: Keep an eye out for an Alolan Raichu. He's teleporting people out of the forest. Not really sure where you'll end up since he's new to this, but I can guarantee there will be 100% less pissed off legendary dragons, bzzrt! }
{ Not too sure where the human ran off to, but I'm sure she has her reasonzzz to dissappear. As for me? No way in hell I'm missing a juicy, juicy story like this! }
[IMAGE: A very... interestingly framed photo of Reshiram, clearly taken from inside of some sort of tree or bush.]

//Hello wonderful people! Today’s the last action day of the arc I’m running, A Vision In The Mirror, and so I wanted to put a few reminders out there since it’s been a long time since this arc started!
- Today is going to have very heavy (emotionally speaking) content! I will tag everything, but I would recommend blocking #a vision in the mirror as an extra precaution if you feel content involving fire/natural disaster, Pokémon death, grief, and negative mental health implications including self-blaming, suicidality, and so on would be especially triggering to you. These aren’t all prominent but they are going to be present. Please please remind me if there’s something I’m not tagging!
- I do not have my arc master post up to date, sadly. If you’d like the backlog, please just look through the arc tag!
- Asks throughout welcome and encouraged!! Active participation is limited at this point since that takes a lot of planning.
- And overall, just thanks to everyone who’s listened to me plan and read along this way! I genuinely appreciate it.

[It's a video! The one filming, as usual, seems to be Cross, who voices a low, electric "whoaaaaaaaa" as she films the legendary Reshiram, from its talons to the crest of its fluffy head. The dragon seems to be at rest, fluffing out its wings before the camera settles back at its feet on the three people in the room, standing tensely.
Two of them stand together--Tula, and presumably Vanilla, facing Vision in garishly purple robes. Tula's hand rests at her hip, where her sword sits, but Vanilla's position is a bit more diplomatic, hands open in front of them as if to negotiate. Even so, Tula speaks first.
"Where's your boss, Miss Ghetsis Wannabe."
"Boss?" Vision sneered. "He needs me more than I could possibly need him. He's off working on his special little machine, though. Apologies for disappointing you, little grunt."
Before Tula can bite back, Vanilla jumps in.
"So, to be perfectly clear... your plan is to use Reshiram to force people to release their Pokémon. While you have Reshiram captured. And you're saying you're better than Ghetsis was, because...?"
Vision shakes her head. "Hmph. Reshiram and I formed a bond of trust far before I captured them to ensure our plans could succeed. And I intend to give them their freedom, too. Is it truly so hard to understand that without Pokéballs, Pokémon could still choose to spend their time around humans? Or is that the only way you can envision your bond? As captor and captive? It would be one thing if all Pokémon chose to join their trainers before being captured, but can you say without a singular doubt that there aren't Pokémon trapped and abused in the current system? If it takes the fire of truth to bring about justice, then so be it!"
"Justice? Don't talk about justice when your 'plan' is going to hurt and kill innocent people and Pokémon!" Vanilla reaches for the sword at his own hip. Negotiations were through.
"If your idea of justice is so perfect, then you can burn with the people you're defending!"
At a swish of Vision's wrist, Reshiram flexes the length of its entire wings, a thrumming noise and a steadily increasing heat filling the room as it activates its Turboblaze. The camera-Pokémon moves closer to her trainer, as she fumbles trying to pick a Pokéball from her waist and hold her sword steady.
They whisper to their partner. "Tula, you should..."
She shakes her head, rejecting the thought of fleeing before it's even finished. "...I'm supposed to protect you."
As the ground, ceiling, and even Cross shake with the force of the charged power, though, the notably absent member of the fight appears with a flash and a Beheeyem, yelling loud enough to overcome the noise.
"In the name of-- do none of you care of what would happen if the ceiling collapsed in on you all, here?!"
Both Vanilla and Vision's fur stands on end. Tula pivots and breathes deep, holding tight to her own sword as Vision responds, her voice cold but even.
"Colress. I have this under control."
"We have an agreement, Vision. Our tools aren't yet prepared. The emotions. The setting... These are far from the ideal experimental conditions. Bide your time."
As Vision grumbles, and as he backs off from the impending attack, Colress gestures at the 'visitors'.
"Now, Beheeyem. Show our guests out, would you?"
As Tula steels herself and lunges at the scientist, yelling something along the lines of "Don't you fucking dare, you fucking--", the camera flashes with blinding light, and the surroundings change from the crumbling ruins of a castle to a lush forest. There's the distinct sound of a thud against the earth, the cry of a Beheeyem, and something hard and plastic hitting the ground before Cross reorients herself to the scene just in time to see Colress's Beheeyem teleport away, and Vanilla rushing to help Tula off of the ground.
"Shit. That must've hurt... are you okay, babe?"
Tula peels herself off of the ground with a sharp intake of breath.
"Yeah... I'm... It's all my fault, I couldn't..."
"No no no," Vanilla assured as a few Zorua wandered over to assess the scene. "You did amazing. We just need to figure out how to deal with that Beheeyem..."
One of the Zorua--the yellow eyes suggest Vanilla's nephew, Bach--nudges over a worn Luxury Ball.
"Huh? What is..."
Vanilla picks up the Pokéball, and the video ends.]

{ Okay, well, that would explain a LOT. This ginger hoe doesn't tell me shit. }
{ You've got our... ahem. Traveling partner there. You said you're in Nuvema, right? I can probably figure out where that is. Not sure where we... are... but. My lady kinda started doom wandering, which is like doom scrolling, except she takes off frantically searching in a random direction, and now we're asleep in some cave. Awesome sauce! }
{ Oh, and don't get too offended by Cobalion. He's just kind of an ass. }
Alright, now that everything else is taken care of, I can finally handle things here.
Hi there! My name is Professor Juniper. I live and research when and how the creatures called Pokémon came into existence in my lab, here in Nuvema Town. Who I believe is Mx. Cress appeared in front of my lab today, alongside the legendary Cobalion! What a majestic Pokémon... though it was watching over its friend, it disappeared as soon as I approached.
That being said, Vanilla! They were quite injured and out cold from some sort of battle, but I have them resting in my lab, and they should come around soon with the help of the healing tools I have on hand. I've also revived their Rotom Phone, who appeared to have been knocked out by an attack as well. How are you feeling?
p-pzzt... everything's a bit fuzzy... b-but i want to help!
Wonderful! If you could contact his loved ones, that would be excellent. As for me, I'd like to ask Vanilla about this strange machine she's been clutching when she comes around... from what I've been seeing on the news today, this may be crucial.
In any case, I wanted to let you all know that Vanilla is safe, and here in my lab. Please feel free to come by or to ask any questions that may be helpful!

My coworkers and I did a few introductions between wire for Ladle and Moon, and we decided it'd finally be a good time for them to actually meet! We think that having Moon befriend other pokemon will help him overcome his shyness. However, Ladle certainly leaves an....interesting first impression!
