No matter how progressive or well-read you are, there are always going to be moments in your life where somebody pushes back against something that's so culturally ingrained you never even considered it before. And you'll say "Huh, it never occurred to me to challenge this but you're right" and that doesn't mean you were "morally toxic" before, it means you're a non-omniscient human capable of growth.

Seeing all the fanarts between Philip and Peter and actually reading the novel make me realize fan arts suppose to be some kind of consolation to fans lol. The novel itself is pretty tiring and it's definitely darker and heavier than the manhwa. You could feel Wooyeon ADP tendencies in the novel but not so much in the manhwa (cause most top somehow has shitty character like Wooyeon).
I genuinely want Inseop to find a happy ending that befits him. He's such a good character and overall he does a lot of things not even for himself. While it's pretty unrealistic to expect Wooyeon to understand how much he has sacrificed for him, I wish that Wooyeon not only actively taking his side and protecting this smolbean. Wooyeon need to appreciate him more than just showing affection via rough sex all the god damn time. Inseop goes above and beyond for him and all Wooyeon ever see is basically him him him. To make it even sadder, Inseop pretty much have accepted to live with Wooyeon tendencies expecting very less in their relationship other than sex and occasional tender moments.
Alone in a foreign country. Homesick as heck. Like it's tiring for me to read this because not once I have read about Inseop truly enjoying his life after scantily surviving his medical conditions. He is always alone dealing with Wooyeon violent outburst and forceful comings. Not even once Wooyeon actually knows what's going on with him while Inseop has always try and WILLING to love Wooyeon with the best way possible; by giving Wooyeon everything that he has.
Like yeah he is a walking red flag because of his fuck up head. I am also not expecting him to change anytime soon. But is it too much asking to see Inseop in a so much better place where physically and mentally he is well taken care of, even if it's not from Wooyeon.
Idk how this is going to end. I know this novel is about Wooyeon more than Inseop. However since this is about Wooyeon, I sincerely hope that this novel ends with him having little time left with Inseop where he will continue to regret all the mean things that he has made Inseop went through, when it could have been done better instead of him continuously being the obsessive person after all that love that Inseop has poured for him. Inseop ending should be when he able to live his life towards the end, watching Wooyeon showering him with all the things that he should have been doing since that bloody Hawaii trip. I hope Inseop doesn't live long with him, and I do think there's no other way around for Wooyeon's redemption other than living in a world where Inseop will not be there for him anymore.
Well I can only wish. And this is one of the few novels where happy ending does not fit into the picture. Wooyeon should pay the price for his willfull intent towards Inseop. If he wants to do better and right for Inseop, he should diligently start seeking medical help and therapy sessions with all that money to control his ADP tendencies. But instead he continues with his bs thinking that he is the bastard and for some reason people should understand and accept his fucked up head. Even Inseop is trying his best to take care of his poor health.
Anyway, I wouldn't suggest this reading to people because there's a lot of TW on sexual assaults. If you still want to continue, for a lighter and less ominous reading, you can opt for manhwa since the arts somehow making it more bearable to swallow.

If not because of the evil bone shenanigans I think they would have make the best power couple out there. But alas karma is karma.
I never read from the novel, but from what I gather from this drama so far, it's like they're in a cycle of paying back each other. Started with Mingye and Sangjiu.
I pity Tantai Jin a lot because no matter what he did, people will never be able to look at him reasonably. Considering his sociopathic tendencies (also from what I gathered, him not being able to feel, very manipulative and cunning, didn't really care of right or wrong and mostly just about what needs to be done), he was not that bad at all. He didn't start a fight without someone fighting him first.
Well, I want to see how tragic the ending is.

Lines that slap in The Glory
"There's a type of hatred that's similar to longing. It's impossible to stop."
"There will be no mercy, so there will be no glory either."
"You should go to heaven when you die, because your life here will be hell."
"I'll be your executioner. I'll join your sword dance. Tell me what do you want me to do first? How do you want me to do it? Who do you want me to kill first?"
"I haven't even gotten started yet. Why are you kneeling already? How will you beg later?"
"When you play Go, you display your desires in silence. You seduce and get seduced. You strip each other bare. And if your opponent doesn't reciprocate, then it just becomes a game of Go."
"You must be punished. If God is on your side, it'll be a punishment. If God is on my side, it'll be a judgment."

I guess now we solved our problem. I just want to be understood on so many things.
And if I could not find someone that reciprocates it, I would not settle for less.

There is another thing I love about The Glory.
Two broken people meet each other and somehow become a healing place for each other. This could very well turn into 180 degree, but it will not be, because essentially, Moon Dong Eun and Joo Yeo Jeong are not Park Yeon Jin and Jeon Jae Jun.
And do you know what's crazy about Seol Ha color blindness? Yeon Jin is a carrier for color blindness which means, her mother or father is color blind. I am not sure if Kim Eun Sook did a research on this but just wanted to point out there are things life that you simply can't fix with money. It would be great if the biggest plot twist here would be Yeon Jin getting pregnant with a boy, and later found out the child is color blind, without realizing that she herself, is a carrier for the genes.
Yeon Jin is evil. But she's, for the most part, stupid. The only good things she is able to do is torturing people to her whim.

I feel like The Glory is not being discussed enough in here.
I love everything about this drama. What's more surprising for me is Kim Eun Sook is writing this genre of kdrama, and it f-ing works. Her past screenwriting were never to my liking.
This drama is full of triggers (I am warning yall it's not for everyone), and it's unfiltered. So many shibal and gaesaekki in a conversation. It's really something that is uncommon in kdrama.
In my country, many years back we had similar situation of school violence happened in boarding school.
*Trigger warning*
What happened was, the seniors bullied the juniors by asking them to do their chores. Juniors refused and they poured hot boiling water from the kettle on him. There were also a case student was bullied with hot iron MULTIPLE TIMES until he died due to his injuries. Most of this cases happened with male students. That's why watching this drama makes me feel like there's no other redemption for Yeon Jin other than let her getting ironed and burnt in front of her daughter. Let her daughter knows how evil she is for her to be deserving that kind of ending.
Anyway, I can't stand the fact that I have to wait until March 2023 for part 2 lol.
