I just found out about the new Stray Gods game, and it comes out NEXT MONTH?! AAAAAAAAH!!! I am obsessed with the first one, and I never imagined there could possibly be a sequel!!! At BEST, I hoped for maybe another game years down the line with a completely different pantheon of gods in the story, but this is a direct sequel (as close as one can get with a different main character) that continues part of the story from the first game!! With ORPHEUS as the main character at that!! He had a criminally small part in the first game, so I am thrilled to see him take center stage for the new one! Every single one of my friends will be sick of hearing about Stray Gods by the time it comes out and then they’re in for a whole new round of obnoxious fangirling. I am so ready. I don’t post a ton on here and mostly spew my interests at my real life friends, but I fucking love Stray Gods. I am going to be super normal about this game. Yep.
I also hope we get some singing from Hermes because they sang only during the trial and only if you chose them, so it would be cool to get more of Erika Ishii singing!

It seems that the gods are trying to “accumulate champions,” so to speak, and given what we know about the history of Predathos’s imprisonment, I don’t think it is entirely inconceivable that the remaining Crown Keepers could come back later to assist in the final battle, whenever that happens. Either that, or they could be enemies Bell’s Hells fight if they side with Predathos instead, but I don’t see that as a likely scenario.
No matter what, even if they do eventually side with Predathos, that will be after taking down Ludinus because there’s no way they’ll join him after everything that’s happened. I would love so much for the Crown Keepers to come back one more time before the end of the campaign. I know they’re a polarizing group, but I love them and I enjoy Aabria Iyengar as DM (I know, also “controversial,” but I don’t give a fuck because if the cast were not okay with everything she does, she wouldn’t be invited back, and I think that’s the part that all the haters are missing. Besides, I just think she’s a fun and creative DM and brings such a fun and positive energy to the table even when she is actively trying very hard to kill the players; and there’s absolutely no reason to not play fast and loose with the rules.) and want to see the rest of them interact with the main cast in some capacity. They’re an important part of the world and the story, and I also enjoy that the majority of that group were beginners when they started on Exandria Unlimited Prime. How can someone say they honestly do not enjoy the creativity and daring of someone like Aimee at the table who has no concept of what “can” or “can’t” be done in the game?? I also don’t mind things like allowing geas to be cast as a single action spell under the circumstances in the episode because it was a cool moment. Then again, when I DM, I change rules all the time circumstantially, make up new spells and items and for certain NPCs or even occasionally player characters, I’ll “downcast” spells like Aabria MAY or may not have done with the infamous Cone of Cold during the finale of EXU Prime, meaning reduce the damage dice or the effect in some way because there is no lower level similar choice to some of the spells.
Overall, I was thrilled with the last couple episodes! After the intensity of 91, the immediate flood of relief and joy I felt when Aabria strolled in like, “I think I’ll take it from here,” was such a welcome change because I knew it was just going to be something most likely simple and easily contained to a single session or two, and it was going to be fun. I also just like having guests because they add different layer to the dynamic. I do wish we could have more recurring guests like how Zahra and Kash came back over and over throughout the first campaign, but we can’t have everything we want. That was really my only meaningful critique of The Mighty Nein. I hoped so badly to see some of the characters again, but the only one who came back again at a later time was Shakastë, who was fun, of course, but I would have loved to see the others again as well, like Twiggy! She was intriguing and cute but also possibly sinister all at the time, and I wanted to know more about her! Anyway, I’m so glad I caught up! I was behind for a few months.

It's my 6 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
Sort of… my cringe blog from when I was a teenager is, unfortunately, still on here. I found it recently. I cannot log into it, and that is for the best. Lol. I think I made that blog in 2012, MAYBE 2013???

My autistic ass just got so excited reading this because somehow I hadn’t picked up on Carpenter being aromantic, though in retrospect, that should probably have been obvious. I think I remember reading that Hayward was initially intended to be gay but his husband was edited out of the story for reasons, so clearly there was never going to be any romantic plot between the two of them! Aromantic woman and gay man into each other? Gurl, no. Lol!
Hi! I was initially disappointed because the perspective shifted from Carpenter so quickly, and I was so fucking excited to get some more Carpenter and Hayward scenes because I ADORE them (even if it turns romantic and badass Carpenter is into sad Hayward, I will still love them!), but so incredibly quickly, I was pulled into Shrue’s story and got much more invested in her than I thought I would!! It was such a great episode! Worth the wait! I do hope we get more Carpenter soon because she’s my favorite, but the disappointment in her small role in this episode has already been replaced entirely with excitement for her next appearance instead.
Hi! Really glad you enjoyed Shrue's storyline (they are a they/them, in fact) and the episode on the whole, and thank you for listening!
We are definitely not about to turn Hayward and Carpenter's story romantic, so please don't worry (besides the fact that she's aro, just...no) but they will indeed be a serious focus next episode so hope you enjoy when it comes about.

how to find literally any post on a blog in seconds (on desktop)
there are so many posts about ~tumblr is so broken, you can’t find any post on your own blog, it’s impossible, bluhrblub~
I am here to tell you otherwise! it is in fact INCREDIBLY easy to find a post on a blog if you’re on desktop/browser and you know what you’re doing:
url.tumblr.com/tagged/croissant will bring up EVERY post on the blog tagged with the specific and exact phrase #croissant. every single post, every single time. in chronological order starting with the most recent post. note: it will not find #croissants or that time you made the typo #croidnssants. for a tag with multiple words, it’s just /tagged/my-croissant and it will show you everything with the exact phrase #my croissant
url.tumblr.com/tagged/croissant/chrono will bring up EVERY post on the blog tagged with the exact phrase #croissant, but it will show them in reverse order with the oldest first
url.tumblr.com/search/croissant isn’t as perfect at finding everything, but it’s generally loads better than the search on mobile. it will find a good array of posts that have the word croissant in them somewhere. could be in the body of the post (op captioned it “look at my croissant”) or in the tags (#man I want a croissant). it won’t necessarily find EVERYTHING like /tagged/ does, but I find it’s still more reliable than search on mobile. you can sometimes even find posts by a specific user by searching their url. also, unlike whatever random assortment tumblr mobile pulls up, it will still show them in a more logically chronological order
url.tumblr.com/day/2020/11/05 will show you every post on the blog from november 5th, 2020, in case you’re taking a break from croissants to look for destiel election memes
url.tumblr.com/archive/ is search paradise. easily go to a particular month and see all posts as thumbnails! search by post type! search by tags but as thumbnails now
url.tumblr.com/archive/filter-by/audio will show you every audio post on your blog (you can also filter by other post types). sometimes a little imperfect if you’re looking for a video when the op embedded the video in a text post instead of posting as a video post, etc
url.tumblr.com/archive/tagged/croissant will show you EVERY post on the blog tagged with the specific and exact phrase #croissant, but it will show you them in the archive thumbnail view divided by months. very useful if you’re looking for a specific picture of a croissant that was reblogged 6 months ago and want to be able to scan for it quickly
url.tumblr.com/archive/filter-by/audio/tagged/croissant will show you every audio post tagged with the specific phrase #croissant (you can also filter by photo or text instead, because I don’t know why you have audio posts tagged croissant)
the tag system on desktop tumblr is GENUINELY amazing for searching within a specific blog!
caveat: this assumes a person HAS a desktop theme (or “custom theme”) enabled. a “custom theme” is url.tumblr.com, as opposed to tumblr.com/url. I’ve heard you have to opt-into the former now, when it used to be the default, so not everyone HAS a custom theme where you can use all those neat url tricks.
Tumblr media
if the person doesn’t have a “custom theme” enabled, you’re beholden to the search bar. still, I’ve found the search bar on tumblr.com/url is WAY more reliable than search on mobile. for starters, it tends to bring posts up in a sensible order, instead of dredging up random posts from 2013 before anything else
if you’re on mobile, I’m sorry. godspeed and good luck finding anything. (my one tip is that if you’re able to click ON a tag rather than go through the search bar, you’ll have better luck. if your mutual has recently reblogged a post tagged #croissant, you can click #croissant and it’ll bring up everything tagged #croissant just like /tagged/croissant. but if there’s no readily available tag to click on, you have to rely on the mobile search bar and its weird bizarre whims)

I don’t know all these stories, but I know enough to get emotional! Some of these vague descriptions make me want to write stories, but I want to read them first to make sure I am not accidentally copying the ones that already exist, so I have to reblog (and to keep these saved for personal reading).
Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.

Reblogging so I don’t lose track of this list. There are a ton on here I am interested in and don’t want to forget about trying them.
Audiodrama podcast friends... I have a request. I want to listen to a new show, that has a lot of episodes to listen to, that a) is an INDIE show (ie, not produced by big companies like Gimlet or Spotify etc) and b) is NOT an anthology. Also must have good voice acting!!!

The Message
The Silt Verses
The Strange Case of Starship Iris
The Two Princes
The White Vault
Victoriocity
Welcome to Night Vale
We’re Alive
Wolf 359
Wooden Overcoats
All suggestions are welcome!!!
Edit: I cannot emphasise enough that I DO NOT want to listen to an anthology. I want a narrative that extends beyond 1 episode please!
Also adding a few that I have already listened to to the list as some of the recs have reminded me about them.

I finished “We’re Alive,” both the original “Story of Survival” and “Descendants” in like two weeks, and now I don’t know what to do with myself. I could listen to the spinoff seasons, but I am not ready for that yet because I don’t want to move on from the characters I enjoy about the story.
Michael was so bland a lot of the time, but that literally was his personality. He was so up the military’s ass, he lost most of himself and all he had left were procedures and protocols and chain of command. It’s why he never even considered going against his orders at Fort Irwin even when he didn’t like them and when they kept him from being with Pegs.
Pegs shouldn’t be a character I care about so much in this story because she is so very helpless a lot of the time, but her skills were essential to the cause multiple times, and in “Descendants,” that mean even PEGS of all people had a skill to be rusty with when she is getting back into action after so many years.
Michael and Pegs had a very good love story. I like that he was so removed from being human and not just a guy who follows or issues orders that he had to learn how to feel affection and her persistence with pursuing him didn’t feel forced or like she was doing it for the wrong reasons or whatever. Kelly and Victor were the same way; I absolutely love them! Kelly is my favorite character in the series.
Lizzie and Saul were trash. I adored Lizzie in season one, but Saul was always trash to me. The extent of giving a flying fuck about Saul for me was that he was important to Tanya. Lizzie was such a bad bitch in season one! She was strong and smart and headstrong. Then her entire character was reduced to absolutely nothing fawning over Saul and she never did a single thing ever again. And I still don’t know why the fuck they were a couple. He only cared about her for her body; even in his private journals, there was NEVER ONCE a mention of ANYTHING he loved or even LIKED about her other than her hot body. And she loved him… because he loved her and the plot demanded she care about him just as strongly as he cared about her body???? Literally, he wasn’t charming or sweet or anything, just wanted to take her to pound town, and then she loved him for that???? Anyway, hated it, hated them both, and I kept holding out hope that Lizzie would get back to Season One Lizzie, but she just never did. I hoped that if Saul died, she would go through a grieving process and eventually be better again, but that clearly did not happen.
Kelly got the good-good character development!! Absolutely adore her, and I also enjoy listening to her voice, so that’s a double win! Though, admittedly, I didn’t initially like her voice very much, but I think that’s because she sounded angry and indignant a lot in the beginning. Or maybe her voice grew on me as I started to like the character more and more. Regardless, love Kelly. I was so incredibly worried for her throughout a good portion of the original series, and then in “Descendants” when it looked like all the original characters were going to be killed off in one fell swoop??? UGH!!! That COULD still happen, and I will continue to be worried for the characters I care about, especially while they are still struggling with being so out of practice.
I never wanted to get attached to Victor because I was so sure he was going to die at any moment. I’m glad he survived, and I love his relationship with Kelly. Their love story makes a lot of sense, and they go well together. I was hoping Victor would be gay or confirmed bi because the original series was so utterly lacking in LGBT+ characters, but at the same time, I do recognize the original show was from before The Gay Agenda overtook the entire podcast sphere. It is still possible Victor and Fernando were in a relationship, but it was never confirmed even though Victor never explicitly denied it either, just told Saul to fuck off with his teasing, so there is still that, but it strays into headcanon territory, and I prefer to stick to canon.
Tanya was a bad bitch, and I am here for old ladies being badass. Loved her, no notes, 10/10. The only disappointment is that I wish we could hear her again, even if she only voiced entries out of her journal or something, in the new series. I just feel like she deserved a proper sendoff. But at the same time, I like that with her journals and her work being such an integral part of the story, it’s like she’ll never be fully gone from the story even though she died “off camera.”
I was more crushed than I expected to be when Hope died so suddenly. It was such a lackluster ending for her, and she was never what I would call a major character, but at the same time, she was from the original series and was the first to die, and with a character literally named HOPE dying so early, that does not bode well for the others one bit. I didn’t especially love her voice or anything, but she was a good character, headstrong and knew what she was doing. That was also the thing thar really got me about her death. She did everything right except that she did not retreat when she should have because the situation SHOULD have been handled! She gave the proper orders, she did not have any lapse of judgment, but the people who could see what they were doing did not move fast enough to sedate the patient, and she had no way of knowing that without being able to see what was happening. She should have run when the others yelled at her, but she had no real reason to believe that her orders would not be carried out swiftly and efficiently.
I tried not to get too attached to CJ because, like Victor, I expected her to die pretty quickly, but I am a sucker for a smart woman. Plus, the katana is cool. I liked that about her. I was super disappointed when she lost the fight to Scratch, but it made sense for the story. I sincerely thought she would die of medical complications with the leg removal or that she would die before even getting that far because she had it made and then put everything at risk to join them in attacking the Colony. I love that she is president in “Descendants,” but with Hoggs trying to take over, I don’t know how long that will last, and then she’ll have nothing holding her back from joining the others on whatever new mission they go on. That, or she will be assassinated and that will be devastating. Yay…
Riley has had some ups and downs, but I like her and I like listening to her voice. The minute the set out to go rescue the kids, I knew she was in trouble, though. I hope she is okay. I don’t feel prepared to write any real thoughts on Riley until I know for certain she is not going to be dead as soon as season two starts.
As for the Descendant group, Lisa was super annoying anyway, so I didn’t especially care she died. She was basically Pegs but without the charm or the secret hidden skills that come out later. Her entire personality was fawning over Nick except for the one conversation she had with Vera about her backstory, but I already didn’t care for her at that point, so that was whatever. Vera’s cool, but I worry she’s going to get The Lizzie Treatment. Nick is… I don’t know what to think of him yet. I haven’t really decided. Alex, I expected to die, so I don’t really have many thoughts on him yet, although I thought the horse thing was VERY deus ex machina. I do like what he has going on with Dot so far, though. As long as she doesn’t die, I think she could have a nice story as well as she recovers (as much as someone truly can) from her trauma and learns to speak again. But I like that they understand each other and that she can communicate with him even though she mostly just says “dot” with different inflections.
Gloria is too skilled and too effective to survive too much longer, I think. She was the Get Out of Jail Free card once, and now I think she is already on her way out. If the whole old group gets shot out of the sky, Myrra will go down with them, and that would mean Ruth then has reasons to get directly involved in all the action. Dean is with Pegs, and I don’t know how that’s going to go since Pegs still is not a fighter and isn’t a character who was ever the problem solver or the thinker or anything. I don’t know what to make of all the storylines going on, but it is exciting. It is a major diversion from the original Story of Survival, but that’s the point: this is no longer a story of survival; it’s a post-apocalyptic dieselpunk action thriller, not a zombie apocalypse horror show. It’s good, just a massive tonal shift from the original.

I started “We’re Alive” recently (like three days ago, and I am roughly sixty episodes in, so that’s fine…) and I just got to where Lizzy got kicked out of the Tower, and HOLY SHIT, I am so excited to see how that goes!! She might be GONE-gone, and if that’s the case, she will definitely come back later as a villain, right??? Either that, or they’re going to go retrieve her immediately, and that will be its own drama, bur DAMN!!! I really liked Lizzy at first, but as soon as her character was pretty much reduced to just fawning over Saul (who isn’t even charming, what the fuck???? He only even likes because she’s hot, and now they have bonded through mutual apocalypse trauma, but THAT’S IT!!! Sure, maybe they like each other’s personalities now, but that really hasn’t shown at all. Basically, he thinks she’s hot, and because he is relentless, she gave in, and I don’t like that one bit.), I found her super bland. I was actually hoping Saul would die from the infection because then Lizzy would have to do something else besides just dote over him again, but whatever…
Also, I CANNOT BELIEVE how many straight people there are in this podcast!!! I have to remind myself that it started in 2009, so that very well may be before the entire podcast space was taken over by The Gays, but it throws me off constantly by having so many openly straight characters.

I just found my blog from when I was a teenager - didn’t use it much, last active nine years ago, but never deleted it, and I can no longer log into the account or probably prove it was ever mine to begin with - and YIKES. It’s dreadful. Rocketed me right back to teenage years in which I thought I wasn’t edgy as fuck and thought I wasn’t like the other she-wolves when, in fact, I was exactly like the other she-wolves. I also wrote my blog posts in such unnecessarily complicated and fluffy sentences because I had some inane idea of having an “online persona,” when in reality, it just comes off as being horrifically pretentious and nowhere near as smart-sounding as I intended. I think if I had stumbled across those posts in the wild, I would have pegged myself immediately for an insecure teenager. I actually am smart in real life, but I would likely also have assumed whoever wrote those posts was unintelligent (incorrect) and completely lacked social skills (correct). Needless to say, I’m glad it cannot be linked to me, and if it can be, I choose to live in ignorant bliss.
