Elemental Rework Proposal

We have a very exciting announcement to make! The development team has been unhappy with some of the limitations of the Elemental system for some time now, and are currently considering a massive overhaul to its functions and how it engages with other mechanics such as Crafting and Archetypes. While we are testing this internally, we feel that it's important that our players are made aware of this possible change before it's officially adopted to give them time to adjust, provide feedback, and experiment with the new possibilities being presented to them. Please let us know what you think! Please note that the proposal strengthens the ties between the Elemental Index and Crafting Guide, which may require newer players to familiarize themselves with some lesser-known features of the game. Our staff is more than happy to help walk people through the proposal and answer questions on our Discord Server.

If I may ask, what are the Vanaki based on in canon Bionicle, or are they totally original?

The only real canon detail we have on the Vanaki is that a member of their Species was a member of the Dark Hunters. Our take on the Species is largely inspired by BionicleChicken’s depiction of that character, with the lore being wholesale a creation of our writing team.

Welcome again to the legend of the Doronai Nui, dear friends, and welcome to Version 0.10.1, which is a very pleasant housekeeping update more than anything else. The biggest change lies in the Crafting Guide, where the Infusion concept has been nearly entirely removed and folded into the core Handle-and-Slot System we use for most other things, and Cases are gone in that selfsame spirit. Rest assured the functionality of both have been preserved in other things, so if you were a diehard custom case enthusiast, you can still achieve the same results through making your own Magazines or adding wells to your existing gear. All this, and much more, awaits in the tomes of Version 0.10.1 of the Doronai Nui. Play well.

Hello, I was thinking about/planning on playing Doronai Nui with a friend of mine, though due to us living in two far removed places, we can't play in person, is there a Virtual Tabletop that either offers an easy way to play Doronai Nui or that is recommended for this system?

Most of our players, including our own staff, run their campaigns on Discord, with a lot of games choosing to go play-by-post. We don’t have the plans or means to provide a digital mirror for our games, unfortunately, and because of how specific Bionicle is when it comes to blending sci-fi and fantasy, a lot of system-agnostic solutions like Foundry VTT or Talespire aren’t equipped to handle it adequately.

My recommendation would be to join our Discord server: https://discord.gg/UTC2JGV and talk to some of our regulars about their experiences playing the DN.
